The island Diego Garcia is where the flight landed. There had to be something/people of importance is the only reason a plane would go missing. Ask yourself who has the power to cover that conspiracy up

I too feel like running off and hiding from the world in a cave. Sounds like Russell has been on a journey of self discovery, It's a shame that on the path to finding himself he hasn't found other people to share himself with.
I hope that this exposure doesn't bring bad things for him.
    Once again, Fantastic reporting lads.

I would just like to say that there are two sides to every story and, no, he hasn't lived in a cave for the past 10-20 years, He has lived on and off in various huts around the South Island and been moved on when he starts to cause trouble. He lived in a hut, free of charge and with food provided every day in return for odd jobs around the farm, on our property for 2 years. He was requested to leave at that time but left all his belongings in the hut. A year later he was asked to remove the belongings from the hut and instead decide to set fire to it, after removing his most prized possession - electric guitars, amplifier, tools, bedding etc. He is currently waiting to appear in court on the 17th of Jan for Arson and has a trespass order on him. He has also been removed from various other properties around Outram that he has been found in without consent , at all times of the day and night and has a nasty hate for females, often talking to and about them in a derogatory and sexual manner. Court news also shows him carrying a cross bow and an axe around town without any excuse plus his profanity, smell and drinking habits are totally disgusting. Paints himself as a peaceful man - but he is far from it. Found peace? Mad as a cut snake on a wet day. www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/130744540/otagos-cave-man-charged-over-shed-arson

Little Johnny! He hitched a ride with me 10 years ago from Ashburton to Queenstown. I instantly regretted stopping in the beginning because of his smell! He'd been living in some other cave tripping and said he'd gone there to die. But pulled himself out of it and left the cave to start hitching. We went to a cafe in Tekapo and stunk the place out. We had great chats about how the Aliens built the Pyramids. I dropped him at a Church in Queenstown where I knew they did food for the community and gave him 50 bucks.
Good to see he's doing well.
It takes all kinds to make the world and it keeps it interesting.

Having worked in the justice system, meeting homeless guys and guys with criminal convictions, it's interesting how they usually describe themselves as the smartest guy in class. Meanwhile, everyone else describes them as slow to learn with few friends. It's a coping mechanism to describe yourself as smarter than others when you're widely regarded as stupid and unable to get a job. One long-term welfare beneficiary in NZ told me he had a genius IQ and would be bored if he worked at NASA doing mathematical calculations because it wouldn't be challenging enough for him, so he decided to watch TV all day instead.

    The House-prisoners are the Home-Less.
If you're made to respond too many times to the question "where do you live?" With the address of the room you are renting or an address you think you own, you are brainwashed into thinking that you are ONLY living when you are there.
You forget that the World is your home.

He ain't happy living there.its cold, damp and dark most of the time which fits with his overall outlook.
There are other characters throughtout the south island that choose to either live in the bush via a cave,a teepee etc but are even harder to find and that very rarely venture out other than to get supplies.the west coast and down by pusyger point are a couple spots.
