that scene made me cry and laugh at the same time, made me remember the time i lost my mum while noticing the absurdity of life around me keep being absurd.
was worried when the channel didnt post for a while, everything about this is genius, the non judgmental contrast and giving equal weight to each persons life , the interviews ablity to detach and reenter the scene, the effects , the exosition shots , the people in the exposition shots , i coulnt tell if the looking at the script and having a lot of cuts was an artistic decision so more or that or less of that, i just hope to see you guys boldly pursue the artisc vision you have
Loved the setting in the archives. This vid was so good, it really feels like you guys are at the vanguard of on-the-street journalism and film. Letting people say what they have to say and not interfering while also remaining empathetic and warm (as shown in the end) is a fine balance, and you guys really do demonstrate it perfectly. Keep up the good work.
Its strange but content like this is so refreshing amongst all the protests, global politics, and other stressful shit going on right now, its just fresh to see people being people.
Thanks again guys. It's eye opening seeing other random Kiwi experiences without the traditional journalistic spin. We all have a story to tell no matter how small or redundant.
I'm from America so it's so interesting to see a slice of life like this, so similar yet different from what I typically see. Keep up the banger content dude!
This was fantastic, you guys did an awesome job. The way you had edited the end with the guy's birthday and the student really made me quite emotional. You're doing great work. If you're ever in Christchurch and need an extra videographer or drone guy, I'll give you guys a hand for free. Keep it up!
This is the sort of stuff I love to see. Not bait interviews where people are just constantly screaming, proper insights into people and places. Love it guys!
I never take the time to comment on any youtube videos but your channel is so refreshing, I love the open and understanding conversations regardless of the person's ethnicity, race, age etc. Reminds me of Louis Theroux in a way. Great balance of comedy and serious topics. Always interesting how comfortable people are talking to complete strangers, often seems easier to open up.
Despite all it's faults, i love our little islands and this video has helped me realise that. Tears were shed during my time spent watching this. So thank you
I love this chan. The whole philosophy is so pure and human driven. The human experience. It doesn't feel invasive really. Just subtly fills me with wonder about humans. Sonder is the word(just remembered it)
i really love your work like this. simplistic interviews with everyday people, but the concept of the tapes ties it all together beautifully. excellent work i reckon
this is your best video yet, imo. stunning work of art. i loved learning more about the lives of each person as it went on. the tapes in the library separating each theme was incredible. keep doing what you're doing 💛
I love the whole format of this video! Also really love the idea of interviewing and hearing stories from strangers on the street. I like to do something similar and write stories based off things I learn, see and hear in my city
keep up this kind of content boys i love the thematic stuff and the actual human observation (without pushing or exploiting people) deserves a standing ovation
Charming, beautiful, interesting, touching, inspiring, simple but very unique - very human. Great documentary and awesome video as always. Your work is something special guys.
you deserve more recognition, very high quality videos and a lot of insight to be gained from. also love the fact that I get to know new zealand and its people.
Don’t comment much but this is great, captures a lot of different people that make up our awesome city. A time capsule for sure. Will be amazing to look at in 30 years. Keep it up, you guys will go far.
Just lost my mother. It's rough! You do lose your connection with the world around you as soon as your mother is gone. I used to smoke weed with my mother as well. Poor dude! He's wounded!
Some really deep, moving stuff here. On a lighter note, there's an interesting correlation between the music and video at 1:08. A coincidence? I think not.

The juxtaposition of dude opening up about his mum and then the 3 guys carrying the bag of rice was something else.
that scene made me cry and laugh at the same time, made me remember the time i lost my mum while noticing the absurdity of life around me keep being absurd.
You just never know what someone's going through.

Same same. These lads are producing something special. Upgraded my patreon with high hopes they keep it up.
Another classic, so interesting getting to learn a little bit about random fellow kiwis just living their lives. Thanks for the video.

The lads with their bag of rice coming up the street in the background. That's it. It can't get much better than that.

I'm from America so it's so interesting to see a slice of life like this, so similar yet different from what I typically see. Keep up the banger content dude!
