There is phenomenal talent coming into the NFL every year, people would do anything to be given the opportunity to be part of an NFL team. Claypool didn't just have 1 chance, not 2, but 3! And all 3 didn't work out. Good luck to him, but way too much other talent out there that will take advantage of the once in a lifetime opportunity.
As a dolphins fan I’m not sure how I should feel about him. He didn’t exactly do anything horrible on the field but we also barely used him. Not sure if that was McDaniel being stubborn or something claypool did in practice that made McDaniel not use him
Claypool being Canadian is more important than most people realize. CFL teams have to have a minimum of Canadian players on their roster. Having Claypool as a WR would free up an international roster spot. Even if it's unlikely to work, this is a smart move by the Roughriders.
Mike, the Bears traded their own second round pick for Chase Claypool, which ended up being #32* overall (I forgot the Dolphins forfeited their own first). They used the second round pick they got for Smith on a defensive tackle.
Let me say a few things because I know what I am talking about when it comes to the CFL. First of all, this a life saver for Chase Claypool. He clearly was an immature unfocused football player. Tell me you were never immature and unfocused. He is Canadian. The CFL loves home country players and will make it easy for the Roughriders to bring Chase Claypool in for a "look see." This is not a pathetic last ditch dark hole in space but rather the oldest sports league in existence. NFL great Doug Flutie resurrected his career after losing out to Jim McMahon in the CFL and came back to play in Buffalo and San Diego. QB 49er Jeff Garcia played in the CFL to play in the NFL. Warren Moon played in the CFL to go on to play in the NFL. Bud Grant coached in the CFL. Marc Trestman coached a Grey Cup winning three Grey Cups (CFL Super Bowl). The best thing that could happen to Claypool os to mature and get serious and go to the CFL to prove he means business.
As someone who lives in Saskatchewan, I am biased and I like the idea of Chase coming back to Canada. While we on the topic of Canadian in the NFL . . . Nathan Rourke is a flat out baller and New England fans, I hope your team does not squander that talent.
Eh, I don't think I'd like him in Sask. His work ethic isn't there and he'd just take a WR spot for no reason. On the other hand, maybe a change of scenery and less pressure could bring some of his potential out.
Claypool was one of my favorite WR in recent years with the Steelers. Seems a lot of bad apples fall out of Pittsburgh after a few years. JuJu, Brown, Bell, Washington and as far back as Mike Wallace if anyone remembers. What I miss about the Steelers is the franchise type players they used to retain for 5 - 10 seasons. That really made it feel like "your team" every season. Now we are just like any other team making trades and not spending time with the good talent to help them grown professionally and personally. I have been saying for the past two seasons; bring Claypool back. Bring JuJu back and hell, bring Bell back as a way to refresh Harris and Warren. And lets not get into our QB situation... Great video. Puts a lot into perspective. Thanks!
I do agree with you on everything. However, it does seem as the narrator also mentioned that the Steelers org tends to be able to squeeze all the juice out of the players before releasing or trading them. If we know it and see it, the players do too. I think psychologically, they know they’re done too once they leave the burg. I can’t name 3 players who have left the Steelers within the past 10 years who went on to become pro-bowlers or MVPs. Idk what bringing back those older players would do to the culture of the team. Might not be worth it..? Corrupt minds can change the interior of any org.
I hope college WRs learn from Claypool. Just because you are hyped out coming into the nfl, doesn’t mean anything. You still need to be humble and prove yourself.

As a Steelers fan, I've noticed in the last 20 years, every time a player leaves, under whatever circumstance, and they go to another team after thriving in Pittsburgh, they don't really go on to do much. AB got another ring with Tampa Bay, sure, but that was Tom Brady's Tampa Bay, so I don't count that one. And he was a huge loss, but it is what it is. They usually scrub out, maybe float around, and then retire. (I guess maybe JuJu. I miss him so much.) Count your mf-ing blessings to be apart of this organization. The stability of it alone is worth it. Three head coaches in 60 years. A culture that has not wavered or waned since the inception of the NFL, a fan base that cannot be moved even through the really tough years (all though like any other team you got fairweathers and cry babies, they aren't the REAL Steeler Nation). I just don't understand but I guess it is different speaking as a fan and not a player. But I just don't get it. How many players does Pittsburgh have in the HOF that played their entire career for this one team? (Genuine question cuz I don't feel like googling.) Idk. I just don't get it from where I sit.
Chiefs should bring him in for preseason, and just tell him, do what we say and how we say or goodbye. Ask Toney how it works. Bring him in for basically nothing let him compete for a job, if he sucks good bye, if he does what he is told its the best chance to revive your career.

Well, or you could say the Bear were terrible. Because man I don't think they used Justin Field very well. You see that the OC would get totally stone walled and did not make good adjustments in the second half of games. Contrast that with head coach Mike McDaniel and it almost like he lure you into certain type of defensives on certain downs and then has a play designed to take advantage of it.
Wait this is actually so true, he was at the spot where the ball should be marked down, there were no refs around so like they couldn’t have marked the ball down any ways. There was still a few seconds before the ref got to him so he actually has time to celebrate lmao. The teammate ripping the ball out of his hands is what is actually horrible
The Steelers took that second round pic they got for Chase and acquired home town star cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Not done, Omar Kahn looped around the next year to take Justin Fields for pennies. Fields is Expected to play backup for Russel Willson.and develop for the year. The Steelers ate Chicago's lunch, and dinner.
Poles got fleeced and very few Bears fans admit it. I'm one who ain't afraid to face the facts. Our off season had so much promise. Now we don't know what to expect in the draft.
I have to agree/hate; the steelers are very savy with the WR picks hell i can't remember the last time they brought in a Big Time WR in FA. They always have good/great draft selections sometimes they aren't superstars like the Bengals always manage to have but they have consistent WR especially at the 2.
He just doesn’t love ball. He wasn’t driven enough to play for his own legacy and he wasn’t driven enough to create generational wealth for his family. I think he was a combination of a guy from a relatively well off family who happened to be really talented as a WR. He used that talent to coast by until he got to the league. When that wasn’t enough anymore and it came time to dig deeper, he didn’t have anything else to draw motivation from. No shame in that either, I just wish he would’ve been more transparent about football being more of a hobby for him rather than a career or a lifestyle
Pittsburgh has a nose for sniffing out a player's focus and dedication. I think AB was tolerated the longest. But the steelers will pull the trigger very quickly when they sense you're lax on the team, not matter what the percieved potential may be. They haven't been wrong yet!
So sad to see yet another young WR ruined by the pressure of stardom and the absolutely worst receiver coaching staff in professional football, the Steelers. It's beyond coincidence that just about every decent to great WR that goes to Pittsburgh ends up shitting the bed in some way, form or fashion. Started way back with Mike Wallace, Plaxico Burress, Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, James Washington, Smith- Schuster, Diontae Johnson and so on, etc. Why hasn't anyone questioned this? Talk about wasting talent or not coaching them to their potential. We talk about QBs wasting their careers on teams that don't utilize their abilities, the same thing is happening here in regards to the WR position. If I were a young WR I'd stay the hell away from Pittsburgh because they just don't seem to give a shit what happens to their receivers. Pretty sad for such an illustrious franchise and coach. I'm still amazed the national media hasn't clued in on this yet, especially with all their divia like antics throughout the league.
I’m a Pittsburgh fan and I can say that I get very depressed thinking about what could’ve been if we hadn’t lost Shazier, then le’veon then AB (worst case of cute ever seen) then not signing juju for whatever reason then chase claypool not having a true champion attitude and subsequently getting himself sent to the Chicago wasteland sends me into deep depressive episodes
It's a story of what happens when you achieve your dreams. He set a goal to make it to the NFL and then it stopped. He achieved his goal now he's lost.
No way it benefits him to just hang out in Miami. The Dolphins will bring up someone on their practice squad before re-signing a guy who only got them 4 receptions last year. Btw, he could still join a UFL team. There were a couple of players who joined the XFL midseason last year. His best chance is to either play in the UFL or CFL - light it up in one of those leagues, proving you still have the ability to run routes and makes some great catches. Then MAYBE a team will give him a chance to compete for a roster spot in 2025.
He also dropped a TD that cost them a game, or at a minimum helped cost them a game. Dolphins don't need or want him, particularly after their draft and signing OBJ.
Hey hate on CFL all you want but we don’t play flag football up here like the NFL. Fuckin TH-cam GM many NFL players have said these boys up here can ball.
I mean if I was him and really wanted to show people he has changed and such, he should go to the Panthers. Give Bryce Young another receiver that is actually good, with all the stuff going on I'm sure they could at a low price.
I went to school with him in Abbotsford he was a beast I don’t know how it’s flipped so hard in the other direction he was good in college the first few years in the nfl he was good then boom I don’t know
idk if its just me but i have this video at 100% on youtube and my headphones dudes so quite then video clips play and im blown into a new year from the sound coming from my headphones. raise your audio lol
How many WRs really help out in run blocking? There’s a long list of receivers that do not. That said, Claypool is a headcase, maybe some team will bring him to camp
his teammate did knock the ball out of his hand. He had it under control of coarse he shouldnt have celebrated but your teammate makes you drop the ball after hes was looking to get to the new play.
Chase is a wr3. He been a wr3 since the beginning. You have to be productive in the nfl if you want to be successful and the best. Production does not come from dropped passes.
This guy quit. The Bears got robbed by the Steelers for a backup at best. He played well the first two games for the Bears and disappeared. He never learned the playbook the first season. Then, he skipped most of the offseason with injury and he still didn’t know the playbook. I believe he was hurt when they traded for DJ Moore. He knew he was demoted. Mooney started playing bad when they traded for DJ as well. The Falcons are going to wish they never paid Mooney.

Chase went to Notre Dame and he's a Dunce Cap.
George Pickens is possibly next if he keeps up the diva behavior.
Hey Microphone can you please do CFL and WNBA content on your channels?
Pittsburgh has a nose for sniffing out a player's focus and dedication. I think AB was tolerated the longest. But the steelers will pull the trigger very quickly when they sense you're lax on the team, not matter what the percieved potential may be. They haven't been wrong yet!
But they kept big Ben the gRAPIST. 😂😂😂
AB was some kind of brain damage. He wasn't like that when got into the league.
@@kendo7964 It's within the NFL's policy toallow 1 r@pe per player. But NO MORE than 1! 😇. Same rule applies for murder too.😄
I forgot he even existed
Just shows how great of a QB Big Ben was too!
I don't wanna see a single roughriders fan bragging
Banished Tae to the Panthers 💀💀
Attitude can overcome talent.
He should go see if the 49ers would take a flyer on him.
So much for the self proclaimed top 5 WR in the NFL.
This guy was special I remember when he cooked my Eagles his rookie year for 4 Tds. What a shame.
As a browns fan how you think we feel about Johnny manziel 🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
And many more I can think of as a browns fan
Clearly lacks blocking tech not just effort. Student mentality is key
Losing?
Never heard of her.
im sure people have heard and praise u
Hey hate on CFL all you want but we don’t play flag football up here like the NFL. Fuckin TH-cam GM many NFL players have said these boys up here can ball.
I'm an American CFL (GO Riders go!) Fan and you are 100 percent on point my freind. The NFL has become the WWE. Fake fake fake.
Juju didn't ruin Macs career Mac ruined Macs career
I mean if I was him and really wanted to show people he has changed and such, he should go to the Panthers. Give Bryce Young another receiver that is actually good, with all the stuff going on I'm sure they could at a low price.
4:53 311 passing yards
I went to school with him in Abbotsford he was a beast I don’t know how it’s flipped so hard in the other direction he was good in college the first few years in the nfl he was good then boom I don’t know
How is Mike's main channel losing to his basketball channel ? :(
Ryan Poles gets played by the steelers twice , Claypool-Fields!
idk if its just me but i have this video at 100% on youtube and my headphones dudes so quite then video clips play and im blown into a new year from the sound coming from my headphones. raise your audio lol
How many WRs really help out in run blocking? There’s a long list of receivers that do not. That said, Claypool is a headcase, maybe some team will bring him to camp
230+ pounds he could do something, Steelers had a pretty tough wr not so long ago..
his teammate did knock the ball out of his hand. He had it under control of coarse he shouldnt have celebrated but your teammate makes you drop the ball after hes was looking to get to the new play.
Welcome to the Bills
Chase is a wr3. He been a wr3 since the beginning. You have to be productive in the nfl if you want to be successful and the best. Production does not come from dropped passes.
Shoulda switched to TE with Miami that wooulda been insane
Yo Mike! You need to talk about Bob Myers joining the Washington Commanders bro!
I remember wishing GB would pick him up... so glad it didn't happen. Dude could be a stud
