  • Sheepshead fishing with store bought frozen MUSSELS at the jetties! Do mussels really work?? Went out to test this bait out to see if it worked. Winds were 25 knots at times and the weather was as low as 46 degrees. NOT ideal situations but we make the best of them! We got on some fish and had a great time chatting with the tourists! Hope you enjoy the video.

    Spawn net and miracle thread. Make little pouches with them with oyster, mussels for sheepies etc., heck even chicken livers for catfish.

    It's true about the stringer. I've seen Sheepshead try to help the hooked sheepshead off the line or stringer. At Packery Channel Corpus christi Tx.

    • @FaithNFishing
      @FaithNFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's very interesting! I never use a stringer here. Too many predators and too risky to me, especially in the kayak.

    The key with using muscles is to pick them and salt them the day before.

      Thanks for watching! I do still use them, yes. My preferred baits are oysters and crabs for Sheepshead. If I can't find crabs and the tide doesn't allow me to harvest oysters, I'll pick up a bag of 2 of Mussels.

    • @FaithNFishing
      @FaithNFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ambrosius13 Good deal. I don't fish on the Skyway often, but there is a small bridge before you get into the Skyway that holds nice sheepers if you catch the tide right.
      As far as the Mussels, i didn't have that problem but have heard others say the same.
