    Paul, I know I'm a late commenter, but this is simply outstanding. I am a retired Boeing engineer and was working at Mcdonnell -Douglas Aircraft when the company was bought out in mid 1997. From the very beginning in 1988, upper management on the C-17 program incorporated Malcolm Baldrige quality management tools. followed by Kaisen, 5s and Lean manufacturing principles. The principles work and work well. Boeing C-17 Transport won the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award in early 1997. We can thank W. Edward Deming for that and also the Japanese for kicking our butts and showing us how to do it in the automotive industry. I'm sure there are other contractors out there using Lean construction principles, but nor near enough. The construction industry is one of the most if not the most inefficient, wasteful and lowest performing industries around. Lean Construction was brought out in the mid 90's, YES, almost 20 years ago!!. What's the problem guys and gals? And you can't figure out why you are losing bids or not making any money! Adjust your thinking, adapt the principles or parish. It's that simple. I will be starting my own construction company very soon in the near future. You can bet your latte I will be using Lean in my business. Again to recap Very well done Paul you are an inspiration!!!

      Robert I am honored and encouraged by comments from a man of such accomplishments and knowledge. I am very grateful to have you as such a strong Lean Advocate in the the world. Currently the number one area that I have been working with Lean has been the construction industry they have finally got it and many are seeing the light, It's very encouraging. Thanks, Paul

    Nice lock system, but after seeing the inside of the truck, I wouldn't break into the truck, I'd be more tempted just to take the entire truck! Just kidding... but wow - what a nice setup!

    Is the fast edge coming out of the box in the wrong orientation?

  • @jck9590
    @jck9590 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So, instead of cutting the padlock, I just cut off the steel strap instead. Got it!
    Haha...actually, that would have been a good idea if the strap was on the inside of the door...

      Jc Knight that is actually the recommended way of installing it, this video shows my Prototype before was brought to market. Check out some of the current videos on FastCap .com or taillock.com

      As a reformed, er appropriator, I naturally look for the weakness in any system or device. That prototype just jumped out at me. Good to see you improved the design on the final version I saw on your website. Only someone really committed to the boxtruck's contents would spend the 10 minutes necessary to try to defeat it. Good job!

    Hello this all looks great and is there a way I can get more info on the vacuuming system as well?

    • @cjhification
      @cjhification 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's extremely likely that it was a festool vacuum given the number of festool boxes present.

    • @brianway
      @brianway 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Craig Hastie That is correct, I use a CT22 with small blast gates to toggle between the sanders and chop saw.

    • @cjhification
      @cjhification 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Brian Way I've got the CTL26, great bit of kit! and makes sanding so much easier.

    I am not a proponent on carrying too much in a truck or trailer. I am a 2 man shop and have a Metris that has shelving on both sides of the van. That is plenty for the installation and site tools we need. When I have to take a site table saw or a thickness planer to site I just take it out of the tool crib. Just sucking a lot of fuel when this approach is used.

    • @brianway
      @brianway 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This truck gets 11-12 miles/gallon. Fuel consumption is not something we have really ever been concerned with :)
