    Whilst looking for the ideal bike for commute i came across your video. Now after doing much researching trying before buying….I can confirm Gocycle is definitely NOT the best ebike on the planet for folding up and carrying. Weight and size are the negative issues I have found whilst testing it.
    It is awkward and bulky. And cannot be placed in many small cars with a small boot.
    I also tried to get on a bus with it and was frowned upon by the driver as well as a few passengers as the bus was packed.
    Had it been emptied, I am sure not an eyelid would have been turned.
    That seatpost is a curious one to deal with having two hands and not three….
    Where the claim to fame for the best ebike comes into play is regarding everything you mentioned.
    And without doubt I must add.
    Now then, which bike is the best fold-up ebike..?
    The electric Brompton ( and even better if one could avoid the disengaging of the battery pack…)
    Where Brompton failed is in their battery pack not being a battery hidden somewhere inside the frame ( and the silly cables as well, which should run through the frame. Not rocket science to do neither..!) like with the Gocycle.
    At the end of the day, Gocycle wins for everything but practicality as it simply CANNOT fold down as compact as any Brompton.
    I need to fold mines. I need to be compact and I need it to be light.
    Neither brands are light. Brompton claim 11 kilos without battery pack or on a standard Brompton and 17kilos otherwise with wheel connected to a battery pack at the front of the bike.
    But if weight is not an issue nor folding, then The Gocycle is the one to go for.
    It is such a smooth ride with its wheels handling the road surfaces much better than most.
    I own a Brompton Black Edition 6 speed from 2018 and i have managed to reduce its weight by losing the mudguards, changing saddle, peddles and tires.
    Just under 11kilos now. But still no way as fast as a Gocycle! With or without battery I should add.
    Great to see my old city in your video
    👌

    Looks good but at the price lights and reflectors should be standard. I have a G3C which is not quite as easy to disassemble , but can be put in the docking station. The ergonomics of the bike are superb but I have had some issues with second gear not engaging correctly and ‘ On demand ‘ not functioning. My original order had to be rejected because of paint defects. So my worry is the quality what it should be at this price ?

    The Carbo S will blow this away in all aspects - speed, torque, throttle responsiveness and feel, 5 levels of pedal assist, 9 gears, easily replaceable parts, 32 lbs of Japanese carbon fiber, foldable, 60 mile range for the largest battery size. I have used the Carbo for 1000 miles and all aspects of the bike are still functioning like day 1. I have a GoCycle GX and it is now just collecting dust after buying the Carbo S. The GoCycle had a better looking design and I like how the pedal assist kicks in better than the Carbo, but there are a lot of disadvantages to the GX - super loud and creaky headset, expensive and difficult to replace parts, once you hit the 20 mph speed limit (In the US), it takes forever for the motor to kick back in. Whereas the Carbo S is super responsive and the motor starts back up immediately after you hit the speed limit, the Carbo motor is way more responsive and powerful than the GoCycle. Finally, the throttle on the GoCycle seems like an after thought - flimsy and super weak acceleration and speed. The Carbo throttle in contrast will jolt you like you're in a jet with afterburners. Press it all the way down and you're blowing past everybody on the bike path except maybe the road bikers, hah.

      @10secondsrule 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for putting out on my radar. I'm riding gx and quite happy with it but I can see the limitations and downsides of everything being custom. What is the max speed of the carbo? Is it assistance only or can use just electric?

      I liked both bikes but prefer GoCycle because Carbo's lightness made me feel a lot less in control of the bike when turning while riding. The centre of gravity for Carbo is non-existent, so in my case, the robust nature of GoCycle and the intuitive pedal assist is better than having to look at a tiny screen and pressing buttons (which can also lead to accidents). Yes, Carbo is way lighter and that's a major selling point, but even folding the Carbo is less neat than GoCycle. A Carbo folded bike looks like a wedge of pizza, an awkward shape to fit into any space.

    • @kayflip2233
      @kayflip2233 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marcoarabit I rarely fold my Carbo anyway. The lightness, throttle and faster speed of the Carbo are more important to me. The GoCycle is better if you have to fold it often I suppose. Overall, the GoCycle was just too slow and not as responsive as the Carbo.

  • @cuebixrue3535

    Beautiful bike, however this bike was heavy and not so practical for me to just run up stairs. The fold feature was impressive however if your not storing this under your desk or in the boot of a car you better leave it at home as securing this anywhere in public would be a costly mistake.

    You say that the G4 and G4i have integrated cabling…the G4 does not
    You say that ‘all models’ have a Carbon Fibre mid section…the G4 does not
    As for accessories
    I just ordered two mudguards at a cost of £80 😳….only to discover that should I actually wish to fit the front mudguard I will also have to purchase a new front bracket…..now that’s a bit tight for any manufacturer 🤷🏼‍♂️

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    VERY stingy not to include mudguards, water bottle holder, lights, carrier hook, and that cheap looking saddle w/ no cutout
    Non-standard tyres can be a problem
