New Ballers traditions at Raimondi Park, Scrappy the Possum mascot backstory
Here's my question and I'm just going by the explanation (or lack therof) by the umpire. Since he missed the plate isn't he still an active runner and has to be tagged out? I get he was illegally assisted by his teammate but that is not what the umpire said.
Just discovered your channel. Good to find an independent viewpoint. Stay classy, A's ownership lol.
i sat in 220 on jose canseco day and the usher old timer was still working barely moving but getting the job done was talking bout how fisher and giving shit out for them
Alex your right good luck to Casey if we had a chance to warn him we'd all yell "don't do it" too late
What happens to Casey Pratt after Oaklands Mayor gets recalled..lol..
What's with the gay box dance? Everyone thinks "they're" special.
Breaking news(not)-A's ownership cares as much about the people that work for them as they do about the people that pay their salary. Take note Sacramento-nothing will change but the zip code.
Dallas must have teeth marks in his tongue from biting it so often.
Love that you shouted out the behind the scenes OGs. Detra Paige is a real one. Love her. (Gave her her first tattoo as my good/client friend Dallas recommended me to her)
The employees should call in sick for a game.
And you wonder why thats a last place team
It looks like Dallas wants to go off but he had to go with the supply and demand take.
I was at that game
Observant ump. Good call.
If the Fisher's were going to use their own funds, Howard Terminal would have been built.
We are so lucky to have them
he's out, nothing bizarre about it. blame alvarez needs to learn baseball.
As fan good dog
Whoever got the seat beside him was probably so happy 😂
❤😅
Just enjoying the game with a boop on the nose
Just enjoying the game with a boop on the nose
Basic baseball. Rule applies anywhere on base paths. Not a stupid rule. Runners cannot be held up physically by coaches. Runners can't pass the runner ahead of them, either.
They really gave bro a single boop. Not even a head pat lol
Lousy ump explanation twice! He was not out because he missed home plate. He is out because he was assisted by another player! Very poor verbal skills
The umpire was announcing what the A's were challenging. They challenged the call that the runner missed home plate. They didn't challenge that the runner was assisted.
Since the umpire deeming that assistance had occurred is a judgment call, they couldn't challenge that aspect of the play, so Kotsay's only hope was to challenge that the second runner had touched the plate initially, which would of course nullify the assistance. Since the runner clearly missed the plate, the out call stands and Oakland loses their challenge. I just don't know who on the A's told him he should challenge.
Just happy to be present
The coach is a Dick big time
What a great career!! 1,000%
Haha perfect batting average
It’s sad he’s injured though
That’s his court room
Almost got the cycle
That was a great throw
Reminds me of former NHL forward Patrik Stefan missing an empty net from two feet away. The opposing team scored seconds later to tie the game.
Blame Alvarez for signaling the runner to slide 1st then changing his mind to stay up. That caused the runner to stumble and miss home plate
I think the pitcher being right there also caused him to stay up too. So he didn’t dive into him basically.
I really despise these announcers who miss a call and then say “now they are saying he is out.”
In their defense, they're not watching the broadcast. So they could have their focus on another part of the field and easily miss that play. We see it because that's the only view of the game we get to see
@@dougsholly9323 ok, but don’t say “now they are saying he is out.” He was ruled out from the start. Just say, “he was actually ruled out but I assumed incorrectly he was safe.”
@@OriginalCoastalDistancing point taken. But I still believe it is possible they saw a safe call, and their attention went to the other runner. It's also possible they just assumed a safe call when the runner crossed, but then looked back and saw the out call and thought the call was changed. In this case, I think we see the play because the broadcast focuses on one thing, but those guys are watching the whole field. I am pretty sure I've been confused at a call when I was in the stands watching a game. Not saying your gripe has no merit though.
If I was on the board, I would have made sure they said their official plan as of right now is that Fischer will finance everything. They keep saying it's a backup plan, but they've provided literally nothing else.
You can't touch an active runner who isn't on a base or hasn't scored yet. Since he never touched home plate he's still an active runner. You can yell to him to touch the plate but you cannot physically assist him. This is interference.
Announcer is COMPLETELY CLUELESS!!!
Not bizarre. We learned that in LL.
2:08 The umps weren’t too happy about their, (the Astros’), explanation either.
Yet third base coaches can physically grab the runner to let a wild throw go into the dugout. Been happening a lot lately, and it feels like there should be a rule against it, too.
There is a rule. Coaches cant help the runner either.
If a base coach were to do that it would be interference. I've seen a game end on interference by a third base coach.
Such a rule exists
David Samson talking about the meeting. th-cam.com/users/liveZJDcIsqVMqk?si=6x20bLHbgJByZXIY
Why did the A's mention they are waiting on Bally's to finish a design for a hotel/casino on site? When Bally's said they don't see building on that site anytime soon. I guess if GPLI bails them out again in Vegas. Just the whole Spiderman pointing fingers at each other is hilarious.
A little leaguer would've known to touch home plate.
I really hate Steve Hill, because of this whole thing and F1, two of the worst things to ever happen to Vegas.....
John Fisher has until December to secure financing and investors. He has admittedly been unable to do either so far. If he does not have it by December the $380m from SB1 goes away.
The city of Oakland thought Fisher pulled the plug too quickly when the A’s had been trying to get a stadium in the Bay Area for over 25 years… the same people thing Las Vegas should have been buttoned up in 9 months! 😂😂😂
@@togoandmoss hey it’s Las Vegas where stuff gets done. What’s up?
@@rainbowmade1880 Trop is a skeleton, stadium construction starts March or April… Las Vegas Athletics 2028 …. Just that.
Mr. Cheapskate is waiting for someone to pay for the stadium. When are the LV people going to figure out they’re getting ripped off. The pivot is looking more like traveling.
Of course, bc, you know, Oakland.
It's interference. I've seen this called loads of times at lower levels.
How the hell do you write that on your scorecard?
“E - On-Deck Batter”. In PEN!!!
@@Tryp-j9dthat wasn’t the on deck batter. That was the base runner on 2nd base.
Official Baseball Rule 9.09(c)(6): "When a runner is called out for having interfered with a fielder, the Official Scorer shall credit the putout to the fielder with whom the runner interfered, unless the fielder was in the act of throwing the ball when the interference occurred, in which case the Official Scorer shall credit the putout to the fielder for whom the throw was intended and shall credit an assist to the fielder whose throw was interfered with". In this case the catcher would get the putout and the fielder who last touched the ball would get an assist.
@@vincentwendt720there was no interference on a fielder in this case. This is the same situation as when a runner is struck by a batted ball, and the putout is credited to the closest fielder to the play. In this case, the violation occurred at the moment the runner who had scored helped the second runner, so the out would be given to the Angel defender closest to them at the time -- which turns out to be the pitcher. The out is recorded as 1 unassisted.
