Title may be a hair misleading, I'm not building the trailer from scratch, but I am starting with a flatbed utility trailer and bolting on my welder, a 30 gallon air compressor, and a toolbox. I've been wanting something like this for years.

I've got a bucket of trash the came out of my forklift's fuel tank that smells awful, and is a mix of who knows what, but is it fuel enough to run an engine? Also snow chooch now revs even higher than before.

    I'm a few seconds in an I like your humor. Good video. Just picked up a gokart with siezed motor i know i can fix it bc used to do it with boat motors all the time. I want see how you do it now. I used to leave red magic oil in the piston and it would do the trick lot of times with some brute force.

    I have just put a timing chain on a jeep liberty V6 and oil and filter. After about 80 miles that I drove it, in about a week I started to here noise at startup. It became worse everytime at startup cold and then started when it was warm. I suspected the oil filter and I got a new one and installed it. After the first startup I never heard any noises. When I took a look at the filter I noticed the anti drain seal was deformed and with no significant force applied the filler guts I could see movement side to side. If I told the owner to take it before changing the filter, they definitely could have destroyed the engine and probably would blame me. A dam brand new car quest filter. That Ford engine was notorious for filter drain and it was always best to use by Motorcraft filters. How ever on my mustang , I used a small filter for pressure that took maybe one sec. That motor you have, you might want to install new rod bearings and mains while you are there. Those engines were built and lasted a 4-5 hundred thousand miles but the oil must be changed regularly or at best 2500 miles.

    Question will the 6.9 interchange with 7.3 idi? I know the heads have differe t size bolts and 7.3 idi factory turbo motors have bigger risk pins....will all 7.3 idi parts fit in a 6.9 idi? Or vise versa? Also is there a manual to get all the torque specs??

    • @Choochinc
      @Choochinc ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. They're the exact same engine just with different bore size and head bolt size. Everything else is identical. You can look all torque specs up online, it's easy to find.

    Hey bud I got a 93 7.3idi in a international bread truck. Has a bad head gasket I was told. Very hard to crank and will over heat if you run about two miles. Not mixing oil in water or smoking. I want to rebuild I need help I'm trying to find parts and need part numbers. I have a f350 7.3 idi and have worked on it but not a full rebuild.

    • @Choochinc
      @Choochinc ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find pretty much all the parts on those engines on RockAuto. When you do head gaskets on an IDI, there is one thing you need to check for. Apart from the normal deck flatness check, pay close attention to the prechamber nozzles. They're that little D shaped nozzle in the head surface next to the valves. The edges will be cracked, which isn't a problem, but you need to make sure the cracks don't extend into the area the head gasket seals. If they do, you will need to have a machine shop replace those nozzles, because otherwise it will blow the gasket again.

      @@Choochinc thank you very much. I lucked up went to a junkyard found a wrecked f350 with 60,000 miles on the clock the original owner was taking it across the wieght scale they offered 330.00 I said I'll double that gave him 700.00 and he helped me tow it home. He wrecked it and said he bought it back from the insurance company. With intentions of putting another truck frame under but he got sick and is 70 years old. I am going to tear down the original motor and rebuild any tips really appreciated thank you!

    Nice rebuild. This is a newer series with the aluminum block, I believe. These are very expensive and they last a long time. I have a Hatz z790. The quality is very impressive. I think mine weighs about the same as a SBC, but the block is iron. These are excellent choices for a serious generator that needs to run a long time.
