huh, learned something new today. I been kickin around the idea of getting a stihl kombi or not, but now that I know I can run the stuff on my 91R without having to buy the Kombi head with just a few extra mins of fiddlin im a happy camper.
Couldn't you add a kombi coupling sleeve such as 4140 161 0660 or 4140 160 0700 to the pole saw extension and them connect it to the FS model trimmer? Instead of buying the kombi extension with the coupling sleeve?
I bought the FS91R last week based largely on your videos with them. I'm very happy with the choice, and I'm glad I can make it even more versatile if I choose. Unfortunately it's difficult to drop in on your shop from Illinois, so I'll probably stick with my local guy here. 🤣 Thanks for the great videos, you've been a big help!
Why exactly would the blower attachment not fit? I have a FS56C and was wondering if the kombi heads would fit on, are the blowers a different fitment again?
I suppose technically you could make it fit The problem is the blower attachment does not come off of the shaft easily so you would have to disassemble it and then reassemble it onto your FS 56
We have always been able to add on like a small blade/brush cutter attachment to the end of a trimmer, but what you are doing here is a different story. Call Stihl and ask them what they think about that. That gear box on the end of the shaft isn't designed to handle that kind of stress and weight. Wild you are a dealer and telling people this kind of information. I imagine you're going to go thru gear boxes, clutches, and/or shafts pretty quick. These things are not designed to run this way. Why do you think the kombi system exists and that it specifically connects mid drive shaft and not at the head?
Stihl sold gearbox attachments for years. The drive shaft diameter, clutch, and gearboxes are the same on the kombi units. Check it out, this is not crazy

And when the time comes to replace you can get a Kombi

The orientation would be backwards that would be male to male. Great thought though.
@@carlsmowerandsaw Thank you for clearing that up, just trying to save a buck
how about an HT56C?
I don’t think so. That thing is all kinds of different. A model we have chosen not to stock. At that point go Kombi
Would this work for a FS250R trimmer ?
It will come on a 250.

I have that same unit FS91R, love it and his power. I always use 93 octane gas and Stihl HP ultra oil.
Yup, Fs91 or bust!
We appreciate the feedback

Yep, just kept your machine useful for a longer period of time.

What's that do for the warranty
As long as installation is done properly warranty should not have a negative affect on
Is this true for the smaller FS55r too??
It can. But be careful with the cable drive
Would this work for the stihl fs70r?
It can. Be careful with the cable
I also have a FS 91R way over here in PA, based off your youtube videos.
Can i now purchase and use the cultivator kombi attachment?
You sure can
Can I do this with an FS70R?
Carefully with the cable
