Hey, I'm Jayden, a 16-year-old drummer from Australia 🇦🇺. Since I started at the age of 10, I have grown to be truly passionate about drumming and music as a whole. 6 years later, I started this channel as a platform to share my God-given talent through both smooth and energetic covers of jazz fusion, as well as of some praise & worship music. As I'm still in high-school, and play drums at church and various school bands, I'm not sure how often I'll be posting videos here, but it will definitely be one video per week at the least.

Mariokart 8 MAIN THEME - Drum Cover - JVDrumming
For everyone that thinks that jazz fusion sounds like Mariokart music... I thought it would be fun to do a drum cover of the Mariokart 8 main theme!!
Almost every single person I've showed Casiopea to has said that it sounds like Mariokart music (which isn't a bad thing because its mostly true). This is not only because they are the same genre, but because jfusion bands and artists like Casiopea, T-Square, Masayoshi Takanaka, Dimension, Naniwa Express etc. all strongly influence each other and the composers of Mariokart's soundtrack, so they're bound to be similar. In fact, most of the Mariokart 8 soundtrack was recorded by Dimension, including this track! With that being said, I hope you enjoy my drum cover of this great song.

real good cover. On 6:06 6:10 you missed a hihat, the drummer(akira jimbo) marks one beat before every note there, so the group stays in time. I'm not the best explaining it but just turn up the volume on that part and you will get it xd it was a perfect cover anyways but i've heard this song countless times and i noticed it inmediatily lol
yeah I actually didn't include that intentionally 😂😂 Jimbo does it to keep the band in time, but since I'm not playing with a live band I figured its not necessary. And the silence there actually makes the hits sound tighter too 😁 but thanks for the feedback and support 🙌

Dude you are one of the most consistently clean drummers out there. Keep it up! Sounds great and I love the tom arrangement. I rocked that for a while and it was a lot of fun! Makes the ergonomics a bit better too :)

@@jvdrumming8859 of course! Love seeing your vids pop up in my feed. And the toms like that also accomodate the cowbell and ride more comfortably too! Bernard Purdie does this tom setup and he always said he just loved how it changed how normal fills sound due to the unorthodox setup. Keep up the great work :)

thanks man!! I use a Zoom H4n Pro mic just next to the floor toms and an SM58 (plugged into input 1 of the H4n) in front of the snare drum :) I find that with this setup the toms and the snare sound the best considering I have only two mics. thanks again!

Hi, I love your Casiopea covers!, how do you record the drums?
Thanks so much! I use a Zoom H4n Pro Mic that I've placed just next to the floor toms, and a Shure SM58 plugged into one of the mic inputs on the H4n thats placed in front on the snare drum and between the rack toms. It's a little hard to explain, I might make an instagram post or something showing my recording setup, but hope that helps! :)

AHH there we go, first Casiopea vs T-Square. The reason I like this version of the song is the heavy synthesizer in the beginning of the song and the very minor key giving it this very ominous tone of the song and its just super powerful. And then like later at the end it just gives of this Terraria Calamity ost feel with like a transition to a more relieving major key.
