Thanks for the info as I'm doing a ground up restoration inprocess and I needed a new adjuster so I went on Amazon and bought one today so I will have a new one for my Jeep, thanks for the video very informative . Thanks keep Jeepin
Been driving standards 50 yrs I was taught you always leave it in first when parking as well as with the e brake.Nice easy repair was also taught to use the parking brake every time to stop it from seizing up.
Absolutely, in gear and brake on. Having the parking brake is nice for when you need to jump out to do something and don’t want to shut the vehicle down
Great video! I've also been without a parking brake on my 91 the 4+ years I've owned it. Super annoying! A previous owner swapped in a Ford 8.8 rear end with disc brakes and I don't know if the parking brake ever worked since then. Yesterday, I swapped all 3 cables and then dug into the rear brakes to check the status and clean them up. Things are kind of old and worn on both sides and after a few adjustments and testing, the parking brake still wouldn't hold. So, I have all the parts on order to redo the back brakes, including the parking brake shoes. I also found out my YJ never had the recall done to replace the parking brake pedal. So, literally, the only thing I can reuse is the adjuster that you replaced in this video! Enjoy your parking brake - I hope to have mine working in the next week or two.
Cool video I’m feeling a bit lazy so I’m watching a bunch of videos on it while I’m working up the effort to go and actually do it 🤣 My XJ has a similar adjuster and then it’s a center console handle as opposed to the foot lever.
New to the yj thanks for the vid. Mines a 90, so curious if its the same bracket . I hope this is my issue aswell i really dint feel like doing drums right now 😁
What is the line with the compression fitting on it in the video near where you were working on the parking brake, you can see it real good at 4:05 on the left side of the picture
@@tophersgarage9841 around the 40-second mark, and towards the end after installation. Like you were too far away from the mike or your phone. The intro is much louder. I like your videos, just at times hard to hear what you're saying
I appreciate the feedback, I’ll have to look into it. I’m not sure why it doesn’t seem loud enough, as far as I can tell it is all the same volume. Sorry!

Great video. Thanks for keeping it simple 🤙
Thanks!
Anyone know if this parking brake assembly is compatible with the 97-01 XJ as well? 😊

That’s the hardline for the rear brakes
hard to hear what you are saying, I even turned on the Bluetooth speaker wasn't much better
Any particular part? It sounds fine on my side
