In The Kitchen With Dinah began in the fall of 2007 as a personal chef meal service. The motto was, "home-cooked meals for busy families." Each week I prepared and delivered meals to my customers and eventually began catering.
As my kids grew older, I felt God leading me in another direction, and I began working at a local bank. I still felt like I wanted to share my love of cooking by helping people, especially young adults, learn to prepare home cooked meals themselves. After much more thought and prayer I mustered up enough courage to start a TH-cam channel. In July of 2021 we started writing and recording my theme song ( yes, that's me singing), and in August of 2021, we shot my first episode.
Don't mistake me for some fancy-schmancy chef, I'm not. I am a wife and mother who simply loves 'back to basics' recipes that taste good, reheat well, and can even be frozen. I have multiple 3-ring binders full of tried and true recipes I can't wait to share with you!

EASY Almond Flour Shortbread Cookies | Gluten Free, Egg Free, Grain-free
Sweet and buttery, these almond flour shortbread cookies are the perfect companion for a cup of tea or coffee. They are also egg-free and grain free.
4 Tbsp soft butter
1/4 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp tapioca flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 C almond flour
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, mix to combine. Add almond flour, salt and tapioca and mix until combined. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a cookie sheet with parchment. With a cookie scoop, place cookies on the parchment, and press them to about 1/4" thick using a juice glass or bottom of measuring cup. Wet the bottom of the glass just a bit and dip in sugar before pressing each cookie. You can use colored sugar if you like for a festive touch. Bake at 350° for 10-11 minutes. Cool and enjoy! Store in a ziplock bag. I like to store mine in the freezer and take one out when I want a treat.

Dinah I don't like your Bosh mixer - too noisy, I much prefer the Kitchenaid, less noisy and much more precise - or its competitor Cuisinart, does the job just as well. I love cinnamon rolls, yours look delicious and my husband wants some...can you invite my husband over to eat them ha! ha! ha! LOL😄💛👍👁
I see that your dog does not always obey when you ask him to go to his place/spot. But he is a very beautiful dog that you have, and he seems very nice. Your recipe seems delicious but a little difficult to make, the fact that you have to have a thermometer. I do not currently have a thermometer at home but maybe one of these days I will try to make the recipe! thank you for sharing your good recipes Dinah.

For my part, I would change the wine for beef broth (my husband and I don't like red wine) and the water for vegetable juice like V8, I don't know how it will turn out, but I'll let you know eventually! It's a simple one and looks very delicious, I'll try it for sure! 😃

Hello, I have had my blue kettle for over 20 years. The brand is Le Creuset. It is nice a heavy duty. I found it at TJ Max kinda store. That is one of my favorite colors of blue.

Dinah, people who think that sugar takes away the acidity of the tomato are wrong because sugar is an acid. The best thing to do would be to use baking soda, it sweetens the sauce and takes away the acidity of the tomatoes. My husband, who was a chef in restaurants in the past, told me this and I can say that it is true. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe with us!🤎

Dinah in the recipe you mention that you have to put the strawberries in the crust "cooked and cooled" but in the video you don't say it, do you have to cook the crust before or not? thanks for specifying!
If you use a pastry crust you need to bake it and cool it - I like a premade graham cracker in the summer, just so I dont turn on my oven.--so dont bake the store bought graham cracker crust. -- only applies if it is a scratch made pastry crust.

I was named after Dinah Shore. I had my aprons made when I was a personal chef and caterer. I dont have any merch for sale yet, but I sure am thinking about it.

They are a labor of love for sure! But really not hard, just a bit time consuming. They do freeze well, so if you're up for the adventure, they are worth the payoff

I don't have a "food saver" I find a ziplock bag does just fine, they don't stay long in my freezer, plus everybody has access to ziplock bags, making it easy for anyone.

Can I use corn flour
I want to clarify that you are asking about subbing out the tapioca flour for cornstarch? I have not tried using corn, but if you do let me know how it turns out. I know that sometimes arrowroot, tapioca, and corn sometimes can be subbed with no problem.

You can use whatever you have on hand. I love einkorn the best. Hard red has more flavor than soft white. But again, I use whatever I have from leftover milling, it’s a great way to use up what you have- and delicious as well!
Beautiful sunflowers you got there, i love sunflower. My father already tried to grow sunflowers but on the side of the house in the shade it never grew, it was very funny
If you want a nice cake cut Dinah, little tip, let your cake cool completely OR bake it in a silicone mold, much easier to unmold afterwards! look very delicious - thanks for sharing ! 👍👌❣

You can use sweet potato, and orange squash. Just make sure they are well drained before adding.
