    Already quit my job. Just figuring out the digital nomad part. I prefer the creative side of being a digital nomad; making vlogs/gaming streamer/reactions/writing novels... Maybe even TEFL part time, too. I've spent most of my adult life as a comfortable hermit, bored of the constant squeeze of London and I have no ambitions of being super rich, just comfortable enough to live within my bare minimum means.

    • @trippinwitgeorge
      @trippinwitgeorge 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I am so with you. And congrats on taking the plunge man! It's funny, some people see "nomad" as "having an online business" - it's just about having an income, so whether that's TEFL etc...doesn't matter, as long as it's coming in. I just spent time in the UK and everywhere you go it just feels like they're fleecing you for everything they can. If you can get over to Southeast Asia, you immediately 2-10x your wealth. I like the creative side too, but if I had to rely on TH-cam...damn I'm down $500 a month haha, so I definitely "swallow the fish" paying the bills so I can do my creative stuff for long enough that can transition into the "true" passion. Good f luck man!!!!

      Hey :) I am sorry if this made you feel more depressed. I hope you appreciate it is impossible to make a video on "here is exactly what you need to do to get exactly what you want" - as everyone likes, and dislikes, different things. This video was more to help highlight that if someone is unsure of what they want, but are vividly aware of what they do NOT want, then this can be a starting point to head in the right direction, as well as provide an orienting generalisation on how to get there. Re: TH-cam, I lose about $500pm (+ my time) making these videos, so I'd recommend not thinking all "TH-camrs" are "living the life", or that TH-cam is the vehicle through which to achieve that which is most desirable to you. My life is where it is because I, too, was depressed, because I was living a monotonous life I didn't love. If you feel you are somewhere you don't want to be, then it can at times be useful to use this as a motivating factor to create positive change. Wishing you luck.

      You got this man! Sometimes vividly experiencing things we know we don't like can be the best thing to happen to us, because it can force us to take action and move into the direction that we believe would be significantly better. It's easier than you think - small steps, over time, lead to big changes. Move fast, take action, and you can define the life you want to live. Good luck!

    Would be cool if you made some sort of guide to transitioning to being a digital nomad in Bangkok (mini course or something with like checklists and weekly/daily goals to keep people focused on the right things). I’m planning to make the move by the end of the year. I feel like things that go overlooked are essential things like routine, not falling into holiday mode etc etc

How to keep yourself accountable. Basically just how to transition to life as a digital nomad without falling into the trap of thinking you’re on vacation, but more so realising that you’re still working… if ya get me haha

    When I left to live abroad twenty years ago it was really unheard of compared to today. We came out to teach English but many I met maybe were running away from trouble back home or looking for a change. When you come to teach English its quite a different experience all together depending on the school and country. Traveling abroad though it all depends where u go. If u go to all the tourist areas sure there full but head out to Thai areas Issan or the beaches in smaller towns not on the popular islands or party cities less people as well.

Now I've been writing a lot of poetry and performing as well here in Hanoi, Vietnam. I'm published in my friends book You're crazy Volume 2 now I'm working on my own book as well which basically just drafting out the chapters headlines. • @LarsAndersen-ig9yt

      @@trippinwitgeorge Very, very short... An individual who prey on the miseries of others by offering them happiness, wealth, and financial independence without effort, while traveling and drinking mojitos at a tropical beach. Most of the scam takes the form of courses, digital nomad schools, coaching programmes, etc. Most dust sellers are not even digital nomads. They traveled for one year or two at most, visiting as many places as possible, and now are trying to reap the benefits of that period. None of them have a real business. Their business is “teaching others” how to become digital nomads. Only a few of them are able to survive with their digital nomad courses, online classes, and schools. Many are still faking it until they make it. Others have a normal job nowadays or even live with their parents.

    • @trippinwitgeorge
      @trippinwitgeorge 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      ooo love this comment! And I definitely know a few "dust sellers" then lol.I absolutely agree with you that there is this strange domino effect in the online courses space where coaches teach coaches how to teach other people to become coaches and there is actually no inherent value to be found. I'll play devil's advocate, as I do think all statements can be true but partial, and there are always 2 sides to a coin. I see "nomad" more as a label in relation to travel, and not so much as "making money online" - however the making money part is of course necessary to be a "nomad" - but someone could be retired, or have rental properties, or a remote job (or whatever) and life the life of a nomad. Also, I've personally invested $10k+ into coaches and mentors and my life is significantly better off for it - not that I couldn't have learnt the same info without it, but that was the path I walked. For example Sam Oven's Consulting Accelerator was transformative in my personal journey. Additionally, there are many companies like Masterclass, Udemy, etc - which thrive on the sale of courses. And I think that if someone, for example, travels and teaches other people "how to make money online" and they've never actually done it outside of selling courses and selling pipe dreams - then this person has no place to teach that which they haven't personally done - and the extent of their teaching should be contained to that which they know only. I know for me when I want to learn something new, I'll first go to TH-cam, and if it isn't there I'll look for a course by. credible teacher (ie...someone who has actually done the thing). I don't think there is anything wrong with selling courses, coaching, community, etc - as long as it is a fair and honest exchange of value for money in which everybody wins. From a business standpoint it is high margin and highly scalable, so I can see why people do it. And there are courses on things from coding to personal training to health and safety to...well, whatever. So I don't think "courses" are inherently bad - but certainly someone pretending to be something they're not, selling pipe dreams with no value - could and should absolutely fall under the term "scam". Anyone who uses things like "effortless", "turn key", "passive" - and so on, these are immediate red flags. I do think the nomad lifestyle is within reach for those with the raw skills and resources to make it happen (is it really that hard to get a remote job...) - but it will also require time, effort, frustration, disappointment, and in all honesty, most people won't make it (as is the distribution of most things). I think for me, it comes down to intention and authenticity. Thanks so much for sharing man!

    I’m 45 and my goal has always been to be financially independent and live off passive income. I invested my company’s profits into property (residential and commercial) and the global stock market with a 50/50% split. My current net worth is £5M. I have dyslexia too. £5M sounds like a lot but after taxes and putting aside money to counteract inflation, I have around £90k per annum to live off. Yes it’s a lot of money but still not enough to live a luxury life. I’ve just come back from Portugal and spent £2,500 in 4 days including Euro Star (standard premium), hotels and eating out.
