Date Day in Bangkok 🇹🇭 [Day in The Life Vlog: Thailand]
I've lived both sides, while living in SEA doesn't make me 'happy' it certaintly makes me happier. My life in London is very boring, your brain doesn't need to process and create new memories, living in the UK everyday is a repeat. Although returning to martial arts next week will change that. Big differnece between living your life and running away from your problems. Wherever you go, you follow.
That's it man, wherever you go, there you are! All things said and done, life in SEA is certainly more exciting and adventurous. I do find that, the "idea of the UK" is often better than when you're actually back in the UK. Appreciate you checking the vid and sharing your perspective!
Yes 🙏
I travel around Asia 6 month a year trying to establish some relationships and try to get an insight in how a potential life could form fra from whare im from, you sure are right old habits can be hard to break at times when you have idle time. But by learning the language sure do open alot more doors then if you just speaking English ther are many options but it do require alot of work just like anything else you like to evolve
a lot of wh*remongers, lol.
It's probably different from person to person. Everyone has their own story, goals, and dreams. Sure, if you're running away from debts, addiction, or loneliness, then moving to Thailand will not only not make you happy, it might make your life considerably worse. On the other hand, if you have your life more or less sorted out and just need a change of scenery, some excitement, and a sense of adventure, then Thailand can deliver all this and more. That's what happened to me when I moved there from Poland at the age of 27. Back home, I had a decent job, my own flat, and a group of friends. What Thailand gave me was this amazing sense of being alive. I spent 8 years there, started a family, and had the time of my life. Eventually, boredom set in, and my life goals changed (kids!), so I moved on. But I still think moving to Thailand was the best decision I ever made. Though I consider myself lucky or have met the right people along the way.
Nice! Agreed. The more time I spend here, the more I come to recognise that this will be a chapter of my life, and not me entire future.
I used Thailand to escape getting a real job. Did it make happy? Yes it did but it also set me back in life. I've since largely recovered and I don't totally regret it but it's something to be aware of when escaping your home country.
How did it set you back?
if you are unhappy with the country you live in moving away may well help but if you are unhappy with life then you meed to work on your own well being as moving away wont magically make you happy in life or with yourself
Agreed! I defo think acknowledging if you're running towards, or away from, something will help people 🙏
is a country that is cheaper and will take a lot of street of people making them happier bro!!!
This is true! If finances are a cause of stress, spending less will defo help for sure 💯
“In order to achieve everything you’ve ever dreamed of, you need to be able to say goodbye to everything you love the most.” Well said.
Thank you 🙏 The sad truth.
@ ahh it’s the duality of life. Not sad, not happy. Not good, not bad. The journey is not for the faint of heart.
Defo. We're all just finding our middle way :)
Depends on the person and the reasons for wanting to move there. If it's purely to escape your own problems then you won't achieve happiness. But if it's for reasons that go beyond that such as resenting and being frustrated with a country that doesn't align with your core being and values then leaving that country may help you reach where you want to be in life. Having lived in the UK nearly my entire life, you may understand my frustration and resentment :)
I'm with you here. The UK sucked. Cost of living and infringement on freedom, and the segregative media was too much for me. And there was certainly a value misalignment too. I feel you!
finally somone who speaks the truth, thank you!
👊🙏
20k a month fuck me I'm poor
Ahh dw I just mean, we set the wrong goals. If we set the goal of surviving on $1k a month, we will make $500. If we set a goal of $20k a month, we might make $5-$10k. It's good to aim up, not down. Thanks for checking the vid!
@ fair point, I lived in Thailand years back and found a 100k baht a month was a good point to reach to live an awesome life there
I love those walking street markets. Unlike America, there are far more opportunities to enjoy vibrance markets, cultural experiences, and talking with others. However, the visa thing puts me off from going. I really want to quit America and just have a life, but there are two concerns. Visas and money. I went to Thailand a half dozen times from 2007 to 2014 finding it lovely just on tourist visas all times. Since 2020, I've been watching eagerly on here anticipating maybe retiring over there, but my pension is $500 a month short of qualifying for the visa. My Aussie friend says I should teach at least part time to get the visa stays, but I don't want to darken the doors of schools. I agree you shouldn't drink in attempt to connect with others. I used to drink when I was younger, but can't today for I say weird things and get all heart broken about how the world and our lives turned out shitty only crying myself to sleep. The hangovers and high prices aren't worth it anyhow. I was reminded again having a big bottle of cognac over the holidays. I haven't a single ounce of interest in going out to bars and nightclubs just to try to meet people or be around people some. There are no fun social outlets nor opportunity in America so I just watch TH-cam every night fantasying about a new take on life inducing world travel and the world great again, but I know I'm just waiting for death.
Yeah the markets are awesome. One of the best things about Thailand/SEA for sure. Wishing you luck and hope everything pans out for you!
My advice is to enjoy the time you have left mate and come back and get a really good therapist it works wonders! Yea loneliness is a big thing there!
No we lived there for five months and had to come back two weeks ago but it’s wonderful the culture is different and ultimately it’s not viable for long term living! Now back in the UK missing it but it just won’t work!
Thanks. So alluring, but not viable for long term living. You're a tourist for a while if going. I don't know anywhere on this planet that is actually viable for long term living. I mean I'd love to just stay in America if there was anywhere affordable to live and the food wasn't GMO crap.
@@Worldofourown2024 No plans to ever go to the states the place is doomed all western nations are now the WEF are in control
Happy I stumbled on your channel, like many I guess, I've felt Thailand has always had a weird gravity pulling me in since I first visited in 2005, I hope one day to work out why one way or the other. Nice vid anyway, good pacing and easy to listen to narrating 👍
Thanks so much for the kind words, and glad you found the channel too! There is definitely something about Thailand that keeps you wanting to come back... thanks for checking the vid!
I brought my happiness with me and it has been great so far!
eyyyy love that
True. Location does very little to alleviate problems. I am a Brit currently in the Philippines and Asia is a harsh shock to the system.
It defo is! Wherever you go, there you are... good luck in PH!
@@trippinwitgeorge , thank you! All the best with your stuff. I stumbled across your content today and am really enjoying it. I spent a couple of years in Laos. I hope you had a great time there. It's one of the few unique places left on earth IMO.
Ah glad you're enjoying the vids, thanks for checkin them out! Laos is really nice. I definitely didn't see as much of it as I should have, but the time I spent there I really liked. Super chilled and relaxing
However, a location offering more outdoor areas conducive to outdoor rec can make a person healthier, lose weight, and be happier. Instead of car oriented TV land like America, you can be in a walking street sort of city with nice parks. I loved Bangkok and most places in South Korea too, but the smoke and pollution is hard. Getting away from a polluted valley like that in Utah could solve the problem of smokey air and resulting mental illness, but Bangkok and Chaing Mai and Seoul aren't the answer to that one. Wonderful cities for tourists. I wish I could leave this hellhole called Earth for it's expensive, debt and war based, smokey, mad, and full of money sucking people and corporations.
What were you shocked by? It's true that all your problems won't go away but eating better, getting lots of vit d from the sun and enjoying life like it's a holiday everyday definitely makes me feel much better as does the cheaper cost of living.
Yo-gurt not yogert hahah bro you can’t blame it in being from the UK coz my dad used to and I went there with him and all the people I asked pronounced it correctly 😂
hahaha yeah that's just my common-ness lol!
Yo-gurt not yogert hahah bro you can’t blame it in being from the UK coz my dad used to and I went there with him and all the people I asked pronounced it correctly 😂
I live in Bangkok I might check out that shambala spot soon
I highly recommend it. It's a great sense of community, and it's a great way to break up the week with a Wednesday meditation session. I defo recommend 👍
What a gem. You will succeed, George!
thank you so much!!! Appreciate you watching 👊 I have faith 🙏👊
Depends how big your problems are a change of environment could change your life especially to Thailand beautiful food weather and people but the novelty will wear off quick once it becomes normal. Then you probably look for another fix start running crack from Myanmar to Uk ha-ha na but yeah man sometimes u just got smash shit right in the face. I would 800% rather live in Thailand than UK though or my country NZ. Meditation is good to face your issues
Very true! I think our environment really impacts both how we feel, and who we become. I agree, I'd defo rather live in Thailand than the UK, or most Western countries. Often I find myself desensitised to the magic, and the only way to appreciate it fully, is to leave it for short periods of time. Imo, meditation is perhaps the most high leverage activity we can do to face our issues, and make us happier, more content people. Thanks for checking the vid!
i miss home man miss my family
Me too! Thinking of you 🙏
havent watched the video but u uploaded a similar video about digital nomadin right? 😎
Yeah very similar! This touches on a few other bits, and is also a bit specific to Thailand, and also shows a bit of the awesomeee Phra Khanong market too!
The problem with running from your problems is that as soon as you get to your destination and unpack your suitcase, all off your problem jump out of your suitcase and have followed you.
Ooooosh that's powerful. It's true. Wherever you go, there you are...
Yep, that techno trance song, "Just Be," laid it out. It's a good song, but a cold hard truth. If your sad, your sad. If you're broke, you're broke. If you don't feel comfortable about being an American or whatever your nationality, then it's just more humiliating presenting that passport that represents war, despair, and poverty for most of the world.
Cool market where in Phra Khanong is it ? What Soi
Ahhh my knowledge of Soi's sucks hahaa. This is about a 3 min walk from Phra Khanong BTS. Walk the opposite direction to Ekkamai (towards on Nut) and it's on the left. It's well worth checking dude!
How did you meet your girlfriend?
Online haha, RIP the days of meeting people in person lol!
@trippinwitgeorge In the UK or in Thailand?
In Thailand :)
@trippinwitgeorge I only ask as she was in the video when you were leaving the UK
Ahh yes. Actually that was some B-roll I caught of us going "back" to Thailand after visiting the UK 😅
moving to Thailand definitely didn't solve all my problems. But...it did make me warmer and eat better food! Did moving to Thailand...or moving abroad...make you happier? I'd love to know... x
Moved to Thailand 5 months ago. I thought living here would be far better than it is. It's warm and if you have discipline you can live cheaply. If you like your own company and can find activities to do then Thailand is fine.
Congrats on the move! Yeah it is warmer and cheaper and you eat better...but it definitely isn't a magic potion for happiness
Happiness is a state of mind, sunshine warmth and good food definitely help the mind to be happy 🙏🏻
This is very true. I do know the winters in the UK suuckeddd and being warm made a huge impact on my mood in general.
spot the adams apple.....
You're a gifted orator. I love it . Thanks George. Saw you on Brett Devs skool channel..... that was awesome ,refreshing but 1 hour was not long enough.....
Thank you so much! I hope you liked the training :D I'll be doing lots more sessions in the Vlog Skool community, and please feel free to answer any questions you might have and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks for your time!
Multiculturalism ruined the UK and most of Europe.
I left the week Starmer won, I knew he was WEF, I'm now in Thailand, Won't ever return to the UK,There's no point.
You should do a video about how you met your girlfriend
Also Georgie boy. I will always be in your debt. Your channel introduced me to ecomsoup. Beautiful ❤️🇹🇭🙏
Ah man you are welcome! The guys at Ecom Soup are just the best. Their content is just beautiful. It's art. I miss their daily uploads. So glad I helped you find them!
America learned it would be better off without the UK..... 250 years ago.
You need to have Thai friend that will help you for next step for connection like some TH-camr, you will have someone back you up someone you can talk with and share your feel in Thailand like you still have family here, bless for you 🙂
Thanks! That's some good advice. I don't actually have any Thai friends!
@@trippinwitgeorge❤
No matter what happens, Thailand will still be the safest place around.
For sure! (...unless you're in Bangkok breathing in the pollution 😅)
I've watched you from day 1 George ... amazing advice amazing video xx

I wish to proceed
Does any of this resonate with you chaps? I'd love to know where you're at 🙏
Inspiring stuff mate 👌
Thank you so much dude! Appreciate it 👊
Usually the people that talk bad about something are the ones that do it the most. He said he has never been with an ugly Thai chick. He never said he never touched a lady boy though. I don't know why he had to make a video clearing this up though. It is very sus.
you know what you are exactly right because nobody talks about that they just brush up against it a little bit, but I don’t care if you come from the ghetto ghetto when you leave there then you will see how much you miss the people even a certain sceneryGood job because it really hurts when you’re away from everything you didn’t know you really loved.
Thank you man! Your people are your people no matter where you go. Very few pretty views are worth trading time with your loved ones.
Bravo for stepping out of the matrix.
Thank you dude!
