    I seem to manage through the day, its evenings/nighttime I can't help myself pick at things, crisps, biscuits piece of cheese etc, even a bowl of cornflakes, and then I get annoyed at myself for ruining all the good work throughout the day.

      @bigbadwolf200335 yep this is also the time I find the hardest especially if I am watching TV. My tips are to not have any of the snack foods in the house. If you buy them you will eat them. Also up your protein as this can make you feel fuller for longer. If you need a sweet hit then go for something like 0% fat Greek yogurt with a little honey drizzled on it or add some protein powder. Most snacking at night is a habit so it’s just being aware of what triggers it and not reacting when it happens. Last resorts are cleaning my teeth and reading as that takes my mind off it and kills cravings.

      Oh man sorry to hear that. Obviously check with your doctor first but doing this diet for 2 weeks this month and then another 2 weeks next month will help but you will still need to be in a calorie deficit on the other weeks. If you can add in lots of walking and any other suitable activity. Are there foods you have to avoid apart from the obvious processed, fast food etc?

    Try Keto/Carnivore then you don't have to be hungry, Don´t cut "calories"to much it will hurt you when going back to "normal"eating.

    Thanks for your videos, you keep it real, Yeah I remember those 'low fat' diets in the late 80's! At least science has progressed since then I've tried every diet there is, thought keto was the hidden key ten yrs ago, until years later realised it was only because of the 'satiety' factor you mentioned in this video Now I try not to cut corner and just accept it's 'calorie in for calorie out', and try managing that the easiest way for me possible My best success has been working out first thing, as soon as wake, coffee, sh*t, and out the door, within 20-30 mins This prevents any scrolling or hesitation Then do my weights plus cardio, or on rest days I'll do a 2 hour walk as substitute The only issue I have [at times] is what you mention at the end of this video, the hunger pangs But I know once I've gone through that, the day gets easier. My willpower lowest in eve, so I choose to save calories for that, in exchange for the morning fast agony.

    • @nevertoolateuk
      @nevertoolateuk 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@roywit7836 sounds like you have it sorted. I know I have to eat after a workout otherwise it will be a struggle so I time it around lunch or dinner. The hunger pangs come all day for me when I am cutting so it is a psychological battle. That’s why a use a lot of herbal teas and water between meals as I find this manages to trick my brain and keep me going. It’s also knowing what foods tend to fill you up and what can trigger cravings so you avoid. Thanks for sharing

    Thanks for these videos I got in the habit of taking measurements each month, since 2010 & glad I did so Noticed weight was same as 11 years ago, yet waist was bigger and arms chest smaller; wouldn't have known this otherwise. I been doing DEXA scans yearly since 2019, and they have helped tracking now. They are far higher % than calipers [by a professional as well!] anyone 15% on calipers will probably be about 18% on DEXA IMO

    • @nevertoolateuk
      @nevertoolateuk หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@roywit7836 thanks for sharing. Tracking progress is important but so few do it properly or consistently of which I have been guilty. I use the golden ratio as a guideline because the closer I am too it the closer I am to my target. Agreed DEXA scans are more accurate but unless you are serious about your goals most people won’t think about it. I see so many guys in the gym whose physique never seems to change and I think it’s because they don’t have a clear goal and how to track it.

    59, slim, always looked after myself and happy go lucky and all good until 2020. I didn't become unwell, i was all good, but watching the world around me turning to shit and people around me collectively losing their minds changed me and dragged me down. My small business went downhill, recovered slightly in 2022 but in freefall since then and work now stopped. And to top things off April this year i was hit by car when out on my pedal bike resulting in a broken pelvis and other injuries. 4 weeks in hospital, then a wheelchair and then a walking frame. Finances are decimated, all financial help i asked for i was refused and im an older dad with 16 year old twins. Trying to get a job to get me by but it's impossible. Physically much better, still walk 6-8 miles a day, or more, back on a bike but it's the grey matter that i'm now struggling with. Even 5 years ago i never would have though where i am now but things aren't good. Glad you all good mate, and to all 'older' men out there, keep your heads up guys.

    The older you get the more you should weight train to maintain your muscle and strength needed to keep your self from suffering as you age.

    I'm nearly 50. I've ran all my life. No intention of stopping. But I've just started playing pickleball. Look it up as a new hobby. Great for all. Go take a look. Keep fit and healthy. Pickleball ball is cross between tennis, table tennis and badminton.

    Everyone here seems on the same page with you We're all looking for that kick up the ass, or 'fresh day', when we'll finally get things done But many - like myself - probably procrastinate into the next day, week... Hearing you say this helps normalise our feelings, that it's not just me/us that does this. Thanks for creating this relatable content

    Morning all, your talks are very inspiring and easy to connect with and especially as a man of a certain age (50s) as these are just the kind of thoughts and conversations I have with myself daily so it’s great to connect with your conversations. This is something most to all men just don’t have in life yet we all have this in common. Am going on a long walk today and then picking up the kettlebell! Keep it up fella!

    This is a good idea for like minded 50/60+ to try and start a fresh or something new. Unfortunately my health is an issue so starting to run or go to the gym etc is not for me. I have a creative mind and a critical thinker and would love to find similar people to talk to and even meet up with. I am fairly traditional so not a techie, more old skool. Anyone here interested in the paranormal?

      It doesn’t have to be the gym or running just getting out for a walk regularly is good place to start if you can. Also starting afresh can be both physical and mental I know it is for me.

    As I'm on a weight loss fitness/health journey too. If I plateau, I just up my steps a lot, then when the weigh moves again, I bring the steps down to something more realistic. A few days/week of extra grind, seems to swing the needle a bit. Different for different people obviously.

    • @nevertoolateuk

      Yes more steps can help. I’m currently doing carb cycling so 2 days of low carb so lower calories but keep protein high and then 1 or 2 days back to normal carbs/calories. It’s working well and sustainable
