What is the difference between the Digital and Non-Digital Series 2?
To answer that question there is no difference between the performance. The only difference is how you want to check your pressure, digital versions feature a digital manometer and non-digital variations use a traditional in-line gauge.

I just bought ws400 series 2 base, if I put the clear coat cap, will it spray clear coat nice as the clear coat version of the series 2?
Hi - We wouldn't really advise this. The different air caps and nozzles when paired together will cause imbalances. Thanks, Anest Iwata Refinish!

Hi, we would not recommend using the WS-400 for basecoat. It does depend on the baseboard in use. If you had to we would recommend a full fan and fluid with 2.0 Bar.

Hi Collin - Yes that shouldn't be a problem!
i tell one thing you do not have to use a different gun for every step. This the biggest lie in painting Yes you do need a bigger needle size for primer if you are shooting high build. But you can you 1.3 or 1.4 for base and clear. and sealer
a question, at 10:18 how is he breathing through that mask, as the air hose has oil in it! like most mechanic shops, right?, and this "chamber" is presumably air tight; like an airlock in space. Iwata, you need to explain to us beginners what the pro stuff is, so we know how to use it to.
The air gets cleaned multiple times before it even gets to the body and paint shop . You have your air compressor going into a cooler which gets rid of a ton of water in the air , it gets filtered through an oil filter as well then goes all throughout the body shop . When it goes to the paint booth there is another 3 filters . You have a water filter , oil filter , and last and what makes your air breathable is a carbon filter . The air that goes to your air hood also can have another carbon filter as well if you need it . Everything that is connected to the air hood also has to be breathable air lines they look like medical tubing on the sata mask . Hope this info helps
what suit are you wearing?, what paint, and how to mix, surface prep? all missing, a great intro to what goes on... a Generalisation of the process, but unfortunately as he starts the job the commentary stops, so we can see what he does, but don't know the why. a video for experts, NOT beginners!
How many coats of the ground coat did you have to put to cover?
Wow i never knew about that clear coat fadeout technique. I would just clear the whole panel.

Everyone seems so busy looking at the gun, or the technique, or the painted panels I always look for how much mist is in the room. I factor room size and how fast the mist is moving (ie this shows the power off the extraction fans) All that said, Boy was there a huge amount off air borne mist in that booth for what are only two doors

which one is for base coat for silver metallic and which is the tip size
Depending on the paint system it will be Green (LS-400 or Blue WS-400 BASE) Nozzle size will again depend on the paint scheme!
Can the WS 400 series 2 be used for base and clear?
The Series 2 WS-400 is available in two separate versions, one for base coat and one for clear coat. We would not recommend using one gun. Thanks - Anest Iwata Refinish.

My problem with most guns and these are in that category is, nice wide pattern, has to overlap 90% down the panel to make it wet. The need for anything more than. 15-20% overlap negates wide fan claims.
The pressure remains as perfectly set when using an image analogue guage. It's just it shows the static and dynamic pressure. If the static pressure is too high both digital and analogue guns will surge as you trigger them. Other than being more compact I see no advantage in paying the premium for a digital

Thank goodness iwata fixed this problem. I had an ls400 & ws400 . Got banding in clearcoat with ls400. Never saw anything like that. Then the WS400 was impossible to adjust for me. I went back to a 5000
Hi great video. I have borrowed a ws400 of a friend as I am thinking of buying one. I have noticed it flutters as I'm painting. It doesn't affect the finish but I'm finding it a bit weird. is this normal? 🇦🇺
This could be the nozzle make sure it is tightened correctly. If issues continue you may need a new nozzle/needle set. it may also be worth checking there is no residue and give everything a thorough clean. Thanks Anest Iwata Refinish!

He should be painting bottom to top. Much easier to see what your doing. I hate these iwata guns. Their airbrushes are the best though.
As a spraypainter, I want to see the performance of the gun in action. Stop all this arty editing, slow motion, and overlay. I want to see it spray in real time from start to finish of the coat. With all the bad reviews of the original supernova, and sick of waiting for this gun to arrive in Australia, poor videos of its performance, I bought 2 more w400 guns because that's what I've used for almost 40 years
