Pays to price around. NH wants $105 for a simple pulley. I found one that'll work from a Cub Cadet dealer for $45.

New sub... I found this video amusing and hilarious!

@@Mad_Farmer912 more big rain in central Nebraska.... Looking forward to seeing how old old seed sweet corn turns out
What’s wrong with the John Deere skid steer?
I run tracks on it to mix feed and last spring around the silo bags it got to be a real mess and I ran it in conditions I shouldn't. One thing with tracks is wheel bearings going out isn't as noticeable because the wheel will continue to look normal. As a result two wheels the bearings went out. One is rebuildable and the other the housing junk. Also running in the deep mud it got in the belly of the motor and I'm hoping it is just a lower radiator hose but the radiator may have a hole in it because it won't hold water for more than 10 minutes. Right now it's just a project waiting for money.
@@Mad_Farmer912 don’t we all have projects like that. Hopefully things work out good and you can get it going before long always handy to have a second skid steer
@@Mad_Farmer912 don’t we all have projects like that. Hopefully things work out good and you can get it going before long always handy to have a second skid steer
@@aaronballweg2198 especially when I was milking. The NH was the "dirty" machine and cleaned barn and the JD was the "clean" machine for feeding. Also I need tracks to dig into the silo bags but you can't take metal tracks on concrete was the big reason I ended up with two.
No more death seat and cardboard what’s the fun in that 😂🤣. Haha all jokes aside that will definitely make that tractor a lot better. You ever get the drawbar welded?
The drawbar is still on the back burner. When there is little money some things get moved down the list.
We. Always slaped back up.
You slam it forward is what I’ve always heard. Grew up on 56, 66 and 86’s. The only original thing JD ever had is the plow and the Soundguard, lol! All joking aside, Deere, CNH and Agco are buying or farming out with other companies.
That seems to be the majority consensus. That would be in line with how my Ford dual power shifts and White over/under. Both just engage when shifted. Run something long enough and you can feel how they want ran. I'll probably start shifting it more like everyone says but I'll still ease it in like I do when shifting up in higher gears under load.
What are you going to do with the corn? Chopping, picking , shelling?
The plan is to harvest to sell. I thought about chopping some but I don't know if I'll still have enough cows around to be able to keep up feeding it. Ideally I'd like to find a picker and fill the cribs with what I can. It would save drying costs and I think I may be able to ask for a higher price if I have it because I've heard Amish are looking for it. I have a sheller so likely I'll shell it and put into storage at the mill. If it looks like it won't make anything I will chop it and hopefully someone, again maybe Amish might be interested that way
Blow the old bolts off with a torch easy way
They can't be stuck if they're liquid. 😂

So far it looks like it wasn't any good.
@@Mad_Farmer912 what did u think of the video. "Explanations are necessary?"
I like Silver Queen 👸
One nice trait about it, it doesn't seem to ripen all at the same time or maybe it just doesn't over ripen as fast as other corns.

Great video. Enjoyed it. Thank you
Mike is a great dude...good at what he does
Even came to do it on a Sunday. I told him whenever, it wasn't a rush so whenever it would work for him.
A damn fine purchase.
Definitely no regrets
Our township does mow the road side but the county does not, they got into spraying the road side now! But they dont pull the gravel up to the side of the blacktop and now the road sides are all busting out
That 7710 is one tough SOB 👌🏻. That tractor has a lot of “character” lol. I never realized the 7710s were turbo charged. Now it needs a straight pipe so we can hear the turbo and people can stop complaining ab the bent muffler 😂.
Ford made great tractors. They get overlooked too often very reliable
It was bought to work not go to parades. 🤣🤣 6610 uses the same motor not turboed and you straddle the transmission. 7610 is the same motor turboed like the 7710 and you straddle the transmission like the 6610. The 7710 platform would have a flat deck without the cab. I've ran it without a muffler and it is way louder but you can't hear any turbo whistle.
Air conditioning will cost at least a thousand dollars they are not cheap to fix like a person commented on here
I fix them all the time. It would be under $1000. What’s it worth to your guess. All my old tractor has really good air conditioning
Compressors aren't to bad, $200-400 depending where you get them. Hose would be the issue. I'm sure they're obsolete from NH.
The air conditioning would not be that much to fix. My tw20 will freeze you out.
You would probably have to find lines from a aftermarket or have someone make them. I'm sure they're obsolete from New Holland .
@@Mad_Farmer912 Ap air has all the parts for tractor air conditioning

Yahtzee! 😁
I have a Krone 125. I can’t get the twine to feed through the rollers and catch on the pickup when I pull the string to start the wrapping process. I have to manually pull 2-3 feet of twine through the rollers run it through the hooks on each side and put it on the ground and then pull forward slightly so the pickup grabs the twine. Then it wraps the bale and cuts fine. Any suggestions?
If nothing turns when you pull the rope first thing to check, the plastic pulley on the twine feed mechanism that contacts the pulley on the gearbox it should have a thick rubber o-ring on it for grip. That's common to break and fall off. Next I'd check bearings in the twine feed making sure it turns by hand free and easy. Check bearings in the needle drive by turning the triple pulley that they turn free and easy. Maybe loosen a couple turns the pinch plate that keeps tension on the twine.. Hope this helps.
The only thing I've ever heard is not to use it like a downshift to slow down like while hauling wagons on a road
They only do it to keep stuff from growing onto the road they don't care about beautify anything
Call city and ask the department then go to the city councilman in your area bring him out and even take him to lunch show it. Video it at the dept, and a council meeting, go find the tractor man not doing his work. I did all this, new contract for work, new department head, and council made aware of flaws.
I talked to the operator last year, but it probably is a new guy. This is probably the low man on the pole/ new guy job. Won't do me no good to talk to the supervisor / council. We've had issues before that got heated and I've cleared a council meeting, they don't like me. 😁😁 Maybe this is on purpose. I wouldn't put it past them to be petty like this, after all they do both sides when the owner has a $500k house.
Look for the video from my channel titled. Explanations are necessary. Is the title of the video i did in reply to you. Would it be ok if i put your channel name in the description? The video itself is already created and edited.
Dave is the corn resistant to the spray? How does that work?
They do that down here in Westmoreland County around bell vernon to to lazy and always in a hurry to get it done don't pick nothing up just cut and garbage blows everywhere
IF gov’t compelled to mow, they cover from crown of road to low point in ditch, unless the area is fenced by their fence (interstate system). Ditch to field farmer’s/ landowner’s responsibility. Cheers
They mow both sides when the owner has a $500k house on the property. Our township doesn't care about farmers, they want it lotted off.
money,politics,power
With farm water do you add anything to your spray and water to make the water soft or my responsive to the spray you use?
No. I've never added anything. Water tests we've done do indicate there is hardness in the water but it's at the low end. If I have a lot to spray I have a relative who has an artesian well fed by springs that I get water from. They just don't have a pump set up on it and I have to use a transfer pump. For what little I had to spray this year it wasn't worth the trouble.
Government employees. That's why.
You sure it's the Townships?
I've watched them dig the ditch and saw them drive-by mowing.
Who care if shifting the T/A is right or wrong. Your farm equipment ill do a video on my channel in the future. May I send you the link?
I already follow. I'll see it
@@Mad_Farmer912 ok
It's so cool seeing old barns like that back when farms grew from within and they could manage it. They made things work with what they had available.
After seeing that seat I can tell that you are a real dairy farmer! The cows always come first, luckily my grandma worked at a seat building company so there was at least a cushion to sit on even if it was mismatched. Lol
It spent most of its time on the TMR mixer. Don't need a comfortable seat for 20 minutes of work. 🤣🤣
If it's lasted you that long running it like that I think you're doing it fine
If it's lasted you that long running it like that I think you're doing it fine
As a professional toque amplifier shifter, I know you gotta slap the thing
I’ve never owned a 86 series but I’ve had and or drove 06 56 and 66 series and there’s no real “lock in” on the TA you just pull it back or push it forward. I would think easing the ta forward would be the correct way bc slamming it forward in my opinion would do more damage. The only thing I was told was never use the TA in high gears to slow down. You’ve been doing that for 20 years I doubt it’s gonna break at this point 😂. But no matter how someone uses something it’s gonna break at some point.
They're definitely not to be used as a brake. As long as the engagement is smooth I think either way is fine from what I understand is the sprag gear is the weak link. I feel the biggest risk is shifting up in the higher gears while pulling a load. That's when the most stress and torque would transfered to the smallest gear. It'll work till it don't. 😂😂
Keep up the great work
I don't know about great, but it's at least good work. 🤣🤣
I cant imagine its going to change anything to much, the lever on a 1066 you cant really snap it back up, but obviously you know thats not a 1066 soo
Either way I'm sure they both function the same. I'm thinking the 66 maybe like my white and has detents to engage the lever positions and the 86 does have a spring assist in the workings.
I think that you are doing it the right way
If I'm wrong I'm the one that'll have to pay to fix 😂
It’s kinda in between the two demos you did….tractor history videos will be great….thanks!
They're coming. I figured they'd be good for a slow spell but may start mixing them in.
On Massey Ferguson in low multipower going down a grade it will freewheel in high it won't the transmission will keep it from freewheeling
If your not a big acreage farmer you don't need new equipment as long as it does the job that's all that matters
I agree with you. If its working fine no need to upgrade
You must be shifting it right or it would be broke
Tractor manufactures pretty much copy each other's features in a similar way your preferences are what you grew up operating I grew up on John deer that's my preference
I grew up on a 520 and 60. I'm not much brand loyal but definitely era loyal 70s-90s.
