this turbo is twin-scroll, which means it can not be fitted to a usdm sti, unless this is a jdm or ej207 or the headers/uppipe were changed to match this turbo

What are your thoughts on fbo GTR or even stock motor upgraded turbos using motec? Isnt it overkill since most of the advantages you mentioned wont be utilized. Only superior thing i see would be the safeties but ecutek provides quite enough at these low power levels. Can add fuel pressure sensors also with ecutek

Great video and expertise! Thanks for taking the time to put it together. All modern engines knock. It is only bad when it happens regularly and there is no correction being made by the ECU. My guess is Subaru went over aggressive on knock sensing on the VB, as well as beefing up the internals, and lowering the boost pressure from the VA, to end stories of unreliability of these cars.

If you want to know how to properly launch an awd 4 cyl turbo this is it! So sick of everyone, even all the car reviewers, thinking that bouncing off the redline and dumping the clutch is how you do it. Thank you for the video. This is the way!

I think its understandable why someone will freak out lol... if they believe that the level dropping could lead to engine failure? this would obviously send 99% of those people into a panic attack- as a new motor can be north of 20k$ (labor parts) and most of them if not all are not in the right $$ to take that risk or they wouldn't be driving a WRX lmfao... it's just a lack of understanding what the numbers they are looking at mean- like reviewing a blood work without the doctor first and thinking you have stage 87 cancer or something lol

I am trying to decide on the Trim...I I am trying to choose between the Base and the Premium. Could you please make some recommendations? I am thinking about just changing the Intake after the warranty expires for I don't need it to have too much hp...300HP+ will be enough. Any thoughts ? Thank you in advance.

Having built a couple of these motors, i wouldn't doubt wide range of numbers. The valve caps are a main reason i would bet. Such a frustrating motor to build. Easy, yes. But give me actual torque specs not some random torque then additional degrees. So dumb

Alex, Great great job! Can you help me with my new 2024 Ascent 2.4 L turbo? Cobb has already informed me that they have nothing for my car yet! This is our third turbo SUBARU since 2003,… Now our eighth SUBARU, totaling 1,200,000 miles since 2003! My wife needed a new car that was more comfortable than the outback for back pain issues… It definitely has a smoother ride With much greater stability in Crosswinds, surprisingly!

FYI: If your Subie is still under warranty for any thing related to the drivetrain, or other performance enhancements… Subaru will deny warranty claims if the ECU has been “flashed”! Cobb has always said that they cannot tell, however, my personal experience since 2004 indicates that they most certainly can, regardless of what anyone else has told you!‼️ the only workaround that I know of is to get another ECU to tune with, and save the original for warranty purposes🤔
