I saw Tom Jones live in Las Angeles at the outdoor Greek Theater in 1969. His recording of this is the best I’ve ever heard, but when AJ sings it my eye get wet!

I think i like her ages 6 through15 better than i do now. I think it's because she hasn't really found herself yet. And now with the new teeth and the puffy lips she doesn't even look the same anymore. I'm sorry, i miss the cute unique look she had before the teeth. Angelina The Barefoot Jazzy Queen with a hypnotic voice. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. Tobi then took Angelina to London, where she performed His song If I Were A Boy at the London Palladium, and they recorded two versions of the song, Live At Saint James Church, and another studio version illustrated with a film from the streets of London. It seems that Tobi has started cooperation with Angelina and there are several joint songs in the pipeline. At the May concert in Los Angeles, one of them was presented: BAD VALENTINE. Well, no, Asians and jazz singers are not the only categories of performers I prefer to listen to. Ever since the emergence, about a dozen years ago, of little six-year-old Connie Talbot, I’ve been passionate about these prodigies who, as you mentioned, have had no material time to learn to be brilliant... and yet, they are. I must have followed at least two hundred of them, and naturally, when one like this little Angie comes along, combining extreme precocity with jazz, she inevitably becomes my number one. Angie may not be the reincarnation of Lady Day, but it’s undeniable that jazz runs in her veins. Besides her, I also think it's impossible not to be stunned by teenagers like Diana Ankudinova or Charice. But there have been some truly young prodigies as well, such as Celine Tam, who was already a stage beast at five years old ( th-cam.com/video/uozyn_DC0WU/w-d-xo.html ) ; or Esang de Torres, whom Lea Salonga fondly referred to as “my mini me” ( th-cam.com/video/dplnf6ahX5o/w-d-xo.html ) ; or the delightful Liu Run Tong ( th-cam.com/video/Xv7MJ5ltF78/w-d-xo.html ), who was nonetheless granted the rare privilege of sharing the stage with Teresa Teng... more than 25 years after Teng’s death. Among the less famous, many are, unsurprisingly, Filipino, but there are also Chinese, Russian, Dutch, and American prodigies. This makes Europeans like Angie all the rarer. That being said, we cannot omit mentioning prodigious musicians. Among them, the one I place at the absolute top, far ahead of all the other “freaks,” is the pianist Harmony Zhu ( th-cam.com/video/UWQqw3b5OiA/w-d-xo.html ), who surpassed even Yuja Wang in terms of precocity and achieved true virtuosity by the age of seven. As for violinists, little Chloe Chua is undoubtedly my favorite. To the best of my knowledge, this is a facility in the Oslo School of Music and Performance Arts she attended as a child, and the "Technician" is simply one of her teachers.

ANGELINA is more than 6 years old in this video, if you notice her front teeth you will see that her incisors are almost completely out so Angelina is probably 7 1/2 years old if you compare with her teeth when she sang Summertime at NGT where she was 8 years old but here Angelina gives a remarkable demontration of her vocal range, and her lung capacity as well as the control of her diaphram., and as you said Angelina is Angelina, nothing more to say,... thank you.

Aleks, while we don't know for sure how old Angelina was for this performance, it doesn't really matter. Singing this well at age 6, 7 or 8 shouldn't be possible. Just as impressive is how Angelina interacts with the man recording her performance. She agrees with him, she messed up some lyrics. For such a young girl to be so focused on her art and wanting to improve, is remarkable.

One of the remarkable things about little Angelina is her remarkable growth, even from song to song. All adults who work with her, from the very beginning, have respected her seriousness and professionalism. Stunning that this is the case. There are plenty of videos showing this.

I marvel at the change in her demeanor as she goes through this song. It is indicative of the trajectory she has followed in improving her skills throughout her life.
