    If you are running 3000+ miles everyweek thats good, But i do need to correct you. Showing the total miles on your dash board Does not mean that, That you were paid for those miles. your dash is showing Actual miles driven total. Gp Does not pay Actual miles. The only way to prove what you're saying. You will need to show the black & white for the miles dispatched to you per week. If GP is the miles on your Dashboard I need to come work there. GP PAYS YOU WHAT IS CALLED AIR MILES. HOUSE HOLD MOVERS MILES. You loose about 20 to 30 miles per 100 miles. driven

    You are a 100% spot on, no one gives a shit any more. I get anxiety when I get up at 1:30 am to see how many trucks blocked me in from my break. It’s disgusting I had to wake up 3 different drivers last week because they are to stupid to figure out maybe it’s a bad place park. And it’s absolutely the people you mentioned in you video hands down. Keep on trucking we’re all in this shit together. Love your videos

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. It's certainly getting sporty out here trying to dodge, avoid, and just get on with the job amidst all this crap. I often park then look around and realize that in front of me is prime 'make a spot' territory and ill move. Seems like no matter how selective I am some clowns still find a way to make my life miserable. Totally here you on the parking issues, I typically start my day between 12-3 am when I can and I too often have to wake up other " drivers " that blocked me in.

    Great honest review, I’ve been with GP for almost 2 years. Had the same experience with fleet managers. I almost thought you were telling my story word for word. We may have had the same not so good one? I went through the proper channels and issue was resolved quickly. This is overall a great company that I feel honestly cares for their drivers and appreciates them. They leave you alone and allow you to do your job which is the best thing about them I feel. Like you said though communication is KEY. Without it you have nothing. Maybe I’ll see you at HQ sometime. Take care and be safe out here. Trk 222042

    GP has gone down the hills on last couple of years. I notice that we are hiring rookie drivers I see the trucks and trailers all tour up. Last 3 weeks I picked up trailers that were put out of service drivers dropped off don't give a s*** company don't give a s***. They used to call me every year on my review and they don't do that no more. I have asked them over and over on my review and they refused to give me one. Can't give me home no more. When they do they say you're in loud 34 hours off at home that's a bunch of BS. My pay is gone way down I get one week a month with good pay after that I get s***. Gone through 8 dispatches. Start not to workout for me now. I never signed a contract for 3 weeks on a row with this company.

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are supposed to review you every six months, not once a year. And what contract are you talking about 3 weeks? I don't understand what you mean. As for the rest, I suggest you take your problems up the chain. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. My experience has not been anything like what your describing. I will say, I typically run 4-6 weeks then take a week off. Perhaps that's the deciding difference.

    • @jerrybohringer4894
      @jerrybohringer4894 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thisotrlife7400 When I started here a couple years ago we signed contracts where we wanted to drive and where we don't want to drive and how long we wanted to be out. We make up the contract company signs it I sign it we agree. My contract States supposed to be every week if not 2 weeks only that's it.

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So...you go home every week, or every two weeks?

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started here two years ago. Yeah we talked about where I'd run and for how long but there was never any contract. This was mainly between myself and my driver manager.

  • @thisotrlife7400
    @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I guess we could argue as to why this came about but for me.....I'm not going to pay for a service if the provider of said service will not guarantee me what I PAID for. I think the mega chains were just as or perhaps more responsible for killing the mom and pops as rhe drivers themselves. If given a choice, I'll take the quiet smaller stops with a decent restaurant over the loves/pilots that typically only offer what I consider junk food. But these are very few and far between.

  • @MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell
    @MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Truck Stops should all charge for parking. The parking is for customers. Truck drivers fuel one place, cook food in their truck, buy groceries at Walmart, but yet want free showers and parking. If you are a customer, you have points to pay for a spot. Truck drivers used to pull in to the truck stop fuel up, get repairs done, eat dinner at the counter, shower, watch television in the lounge, use the pay phones, buy their cigarettes, sleep…. Then in the morning they bought breakfast, bought a sack lunch and thermos of coffee. Now? They fuel one place, cook in the truck, watch tv in the truck…. Yet complain about the prices in the store and the fact the restaurants are gone? WE KILLED THE TRUCK STOPS. We, the truck drivers.

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting perspective, thanks.

  • @MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell
    @MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I reserve a spot 1-2 times per week. I have never had a Pilot or Flying J not go out and run off whomever is parked in the spot they shouldn’t be in. TA/Petro, I’ve heard horror stories about not getting the spot. If you are paying for the parking with the points, then the company IS paying for the parking. That Bordontown Petro in New Jersey doesn’t actually charge for parking. If you spend $25 in the store, shop, or fuel, the receipt will get you in.

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good on the pilots then, tks for the feedback.

    • @TruckinwithTBone
      @TruckinwithTBone 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had numerous Pilots refuse to make people move from paid spots after reserving one. I’ll reserve a spot if I know I am getting to an area late. Usually after 9 or 10:00. New Haven, IN in particular told me they don’t make people move after 10pm. It’s kind of understandable but also, why have paid spots if you’re not going to honor the reservation.

    • @thisotrlife7400
      @thisotrlife7400 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just don't get that...ya pay for a service which they won't make good on? Maybe that's why I see so many trucks parked in reserve spots with no receipt in the window. Why pay if it's a crap service I reckon.

    • @MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell
      @MidlifeTrucker-ThomBell 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thisotrlife7400 The receipt not being in the window doesn’t mean they didn’t pay. As I said, I’ve never had Pilot/Flying J not find my Reserved Parking place. Not once.
