It will be great to add the static exercise posture in the app itself for each muscle or body area
Yes, it’s also our wish for development.
Hi have som problem following you advises special the wireless and wired you say it dosent matter but that is the oposite of what Compex writes. Postive wire/ module must farest away from the heart and on the patch placent it indicate positive and negative and positive always on the top of the muscle. You need to explain that becurse it is the opsitw of what manual a d coach app says 🤓🤷♂️🧐
In the past this was made important, because we talked about + and -./red and black or light and no light (wireless). But it has no impact on the current or effect of the session. In the manual we let it stay that way, but in practical sessions we discovered that people find it difficult . You can follow the manual or just place the electrode like I say, both is ok and makes no difference. In the past we tried to be detailed, but later we changed to make things as simple as possible.
Hi I'm surching about 2/0/108 error code if you can help me
There are a lot of error codes and I don’t know them by mind. Lots are a battery issue, but if you want to be sure: send an email to the servicedepartment. You can find the email address on the Compex website.
I am between SP 4.0 and SP 8.0 . I am going to use this with my older mother with muscle weakness. 4.0 has MI range but not autorange? what is the difference how 8.0 is going to speed up the treatment for her?
The sp8.0 automatically increases intensity with the autorange on all channels separately. With the SP4.0 you have to manually increase the intensity to a given range of the machine. The reference of 1 muscle (channel) will give the range for all channels separately. The SP8.0 is more easy to use for your mother and more effective because of mi technology on all separate muscles.
i have many questions first it's a bummer that the coach app is not available in my country USA. I'm going to focus on my arms to get muscles do i start in the order that the work outs are display on my unit compex wireless first one says Endurance then Resistance then Strength or doesn't matter? Also do i do all 3 levels one after another or stick with Level 1 for week or you tell me... Also the jelpads are supposed to last how many uses?
I will try to answer your questions: you don't have to follow the programs in order of the device. You must choose your goal. In your case I recommend to choose Resistance. That's the best program for most of the goals. About the levels: Execute only 1 program and thus 1 level per trainingday. Keep that level for the upcoming 2 weeks of training and than change to a higher level. So if you train 3 times per week. Execute 6 trainingdays on level 1, than the next 6 trainingdays on level 2 and the next 6 trainingdays on level 3. In that case you will have a progressive training plan for 6 weeks. The gel pads are suppossed to last for +/- 20 trainingsessions. I hope this answers all your questions.
Sport Elite or SP 4.0?
In options and programs no big difference. SP4.0 is a newer product with the most recent platform. Programs are named differently for understanding better what it does. I would choose a sp4.0 because of that. But when you have a limited budget, a sport elite is a nice alternative.
I have a degenerated calf muscle after an Achilles tendon rupture. Is SP6 or SP8 better for calf muscle atrophy training?
Both device are suitable, because programs for degenerated muscles are the same. So, difference is in technology options, accessories and price. Good luck with the choice.
Hello sir, is it bettter than compex 6.0 or like 8.0.
6.0 and 8.0 are very close. Both will do the job. If you’re on a budget than a 6.0 is a very good option!
Compex is a scam company. Their products are built to fail on purpose.
Hi @compexacademy, is it normal that when I use the Motor Point Pen, it feels stronger vs the regular electrode?
Yes, because the surface is much smaller (just the tip of the pen) vs the electrode. So don’t increase the intensity to high when you use the motorpoint. Average only an intensity of 5.
Hello, what is about compex energy?
The Compex Energy is an older generation device. Its a bit comparable to the SP2. It’s difficult to compare to older generations, but they are close.
@@CompexAcademy thank you so much. Best regard
Hello, Ours is showing the connection fault symbol in a port that has no cable in it as well as consistently dropping from the connected ports. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Of the cables are dropping from the connection ports, they ar not clicked in properly. Insert them until you feel/hear a click. That could also cause a connection failure.
Sorry I meant to say if there's any way I can order that.
When you are based in the US you cannot order the EU version.

Hi, we cannot send you an EU device, because as a company we are limited by the FDA. And therefore I also cannot give you any advice about this.
can I use any type of batteries or should they be the same
It’s a Compex specific battery. I recommend to use an original Compex battery.
Thanks mate... Solved my issue ❤❤❤
You’re welcome.
Is there any big difference between Sport Elite Gray 2024 edition vs Fit 3 besides Mi sensing tech? @CompexAcademy
Yes, the gray edition has more sports programs, where the fit don’t have sport programs . The fit series is for daily activities and the sport gray for people who do sports.
Thank you, is the gray one still good for muscle recovery (athrophy)? @CompexAcademy
Yes it is.
Probably you have an issue we can’t quickly resolve. Than you can better contact Compex service department. You can find the details on Compex.com on the bottom of the page.
What if modules don't charge at all? I do not see anything charing on the screen. Triad different chargers, nothing works. The screen on the device is empty/black.
Yes and where can I get the accessories that I can't find but I see everybody in the video have like the fat black electrodes? And the handbook manual
It should normally be available on www.compex.com
Thank you
What for rehabilitation of shoulder ? Best option All best
Great video and explanations. Thanks! Excited to get going with my training programs.
compex for pull ups? have suggestions?
It’s possible for all muscle, but you have to consider the contraction times. I prefer resistance program, because you have 6 sec of contraction and 6 sec of relaxation (rest) time. So, you jump- pull up 1-2x (depending how fast you are)-jump off and rest - jump - pull 1-2x - rest- jump - pull 1-2 times- rest - etc. Tip: put the contraction sound on so you know when to jump before contraction starts. It requires some timing but you will manage very quickly 😀
Wat is pulse width ?
The same pulswidth: around 300ms.
Wat is pulse width ?
It’s around 300ms, depending on the type of program.
In your case with an isometric wall sit, I should recommend to sit for 10 sec during the contraction phase and stand up and relax for 10 seconds during the relaxation phase (that is in total 1 cycle). You have 60 cycles in the program. For the first time you can start with half the program (=30 cycles) and increase the next training(s) to 60 cycles, depending on how intensive the workout is for you.
Thank you for that! So once you have built up to being able to do 60 cycles. Would you ever repeat more than one complete cycle of 60 in a work out? For example, would you do two or three sets of 60 cycles? Or would that potentially lead to over training? Thank you.
I recommend you to increase in intensity instead of the amount of cycles. 60 cycles should be enough. Some programs can also be increased in level. Some programs has different levels. Mainly 3 levels. So increase in intensity first and than in level if possible.
hoping your still answering questions here. I am wondering about the length of the sessions. I do have the original wireless complex unit and am starting to use the firming 1 to prepare the body for this type of training. This program is 18 minutes long with MANY cycles. 60 cycles of 10 seconds on and 10 seconds off. Doing an isometric wall sit for 10 seconds on and 10 seconds off (moving up and down as the unit delivers the current). seems like a long time. In your videos you have talked about doing 3 sets of this. Seems like one set might be enough with 18 minutes of work. Am I interpreting your description wrong? Thanks
In some programs there are different cycles. When do you move on to the next cycle? After your “compex off week” or longer?
Always after the Compex off week you move to the next cycle. Is there a specific program you are refering to?
Ok, thank you! I’m using the strength program for my quads after ACLR.
Ok, that’s perfect.
Any suggestions what to do when cycle 3 is finished?!
The warranty argument for the wireless version is so funny, like you're trying to sell it more. It makes no sense
Everybody has the right for his own opinion. I am curious what motivated argument you are having for this statement.
Hi! I would like to know if you turn the compex as high as you can tolerate on your quads and there’s a difference between both legs. Does it mean one side is stronger then the other side or does it have nothing to do with how strong your muscle is?
There’s often a small difference between left and right. Sometimes the difference is really significant. In that case the highest number means less excitable. You need more intensity to get the same contraction effect. That could indicate that that side is less trained, so you can say weaker. It’s mainly less excitable, so the nerve system reacts less accurate. If there is a more than 30% difference, the leg with the highest intensity is a potential risk to injury in competition. I hope this is the answer you are looking for.
Thank you for your awnser! That clears a lot for me. I had an ACL reconstruction almost 7 weeks ago and I started 2 days pos-op with the compex (static) on the operated leg. Now I train both legs (dynamic) but there’s a difference between both legs in how much they can tolerate. The uninjured leg can’t tolerate as much as the reconstructed side. But with your explanation I understand why. Thank you!
You’re welcome. Good luck with your rehab!
I have another question that popped up. How does the workload score relate to this. Wouldn’t it be beter to train legs apart from the other side so you will have a workload score per leg because they are still so far apart due to the reconstruction surgery? Or just both legs at the same time?
I recommend to train both legs at the same time. Let the weakest leg be in the lead in the training. Try to work with max tolarable in the weakest leg and use the same intensity on the other leg.
Is there a Kegel placement to strengthen the pelvic floor?
No there isn't. This is a very specific (medical) treatment. Compex only shows general muscle placements.
Nossa, salvou! Obrigada
hi! I got a message of: error code 0x09B. What can I do about it?
Hi, most error codes are coming from a defect of battery, charger or pcb, but I don’t know all error codes. Contact you local Compex service department (you can find them on www.compex.com) and ask this question of the error code. They have a list of error codes related to the issue. Most common issues are about battery defect. Replacing a battery solves lots of errors, but not all.

Thanks for the video. I do crossfit. Can I use programs for upper body training one day and leg recovery another day? How to combine programs if you need to work with different muscle groups, with different goals for them. Like shoulder training and leg recovery?
Recovery programs you can do as often as you want, so you can plan them in without restrictions. So, after a Compex training you can use recovery and massage programs as much as you want, also the same day. For training: when you do static exercises leave at minimum 1 day between a training of the same muscle group. With dynamic minimum 2 days. Compex training week example static: Mo-quads, Tue-shoulders, Wed-quads, Thur- Shoulders, Friday-quads, Sat-shoulders, Sun-no Compex. You can also add 1 muscle group and keep 2 days in between like with dynamic exercises. But for dynamic you need min 2 days in between. For Dynamic example: Mo-quads, Tue-shoulders, Wed-Abs, Thur- Quads, Friday-Shoulders, Sat-Abs, Sun-no Compex. Give yourself always 1 Compex day free. I hope this answer is helpful for you.
@@CompexAcademy Thank you very fast and such a detailed answer
@@CompexAcademy I have another important question for me. How to use the device to increase strength when doing crossfit? I have 10 to 14 workouts a week for 2 hours. Load on all muscle groups. Is it worth it to use the device for training additionally and will it help in increasing strength or do only recovery programs?
That’s a lot of workouts, so you need to be careful with the impact of Compex strength training. But if you want, choose 1 weakest muscle group and execute Compex strength training avg 3 x per week before your CrossFit session. And see how that works for you.
Excellent video. Very didactic. Thanks
Hi! Need help. My Compex show me error message: NBR: 36 MENUS: 31/30 ERROR: 2/0/25
Hi Marcelo, it means you have a defective PCB. Most of the time it's because the device is lying still for a long time with the battery inside. It's a costly repair... Otherwise consider a new one. There's a trade in option for extra discount, see compex.com in the bottom section.
Compex is a scam company. All their devices are built to fail. It's their business model.
Hi Arno. Is there a strength output difference between the devices? Also, If I put the device on max while laying on a bed will it create a muscle contraction strong enough to lift me a little?
Hi Alon, the SP and Fit range (in US: Edge, Performance, Sport Elite, Wireless USA) are having the same output strength (Intensity 0-999) and are the strongest with a max of 999. The compex mini has a lower output (0-299) and the CoreBelt has an output of 0-200. If the muscle reaction create a lift of the leg, is depending on what contraction intensity you can coop with, because you need high intensity levels. BUt I advise to start conservative and first learn to activate muscle in a comfortable way, before you start to find your max tolarable intensity level. I recommend you a device with a 0-999 intensity level in that case.
Arno, a 10 program top of the range Sport Elite device in the US, how can it match a 30 or 40 programs in EU? Expecially on Muscle Pain and recovery? Thanks in advance
It can't. Due to the FDA we are restricted in the number of programs in the US, so therefore we have different devices in the US vs International. The International devices are not only having more programs, but also more options (for example Mi-functions).
Dear Arno, why do I have to to an exercise (like Squat in the example), if no weight is needed as you said?
The exercise is the function/movement, the weight or intensity is the load. Sitting and holding your knees in 90 degrees is also an exercise, only a simple one. You can challenge yourself to change exercises, for example squat hold or squat movement. It's not needed, it's possible.
@@CompexAcademy So I can as well just sit on the sofa and it has the same effect as doing Squat (during the red zone) ?
Thank you ARno. I just received my Compex SP 8.0. Question: I am a Trail Runner and did endurance programm on compex for Quadrizeps and abs. It wants me to do 220 times. So today I dont feel any muscle soreness (like I would after the gym session). Is this ok or do I have to go higher in the level (I was at around 100 and felt already not so comfortable). So how do I know if my session was improving if I dont have muscle soreness? thank you very much
Hi Mike, endurance training is more a basic training (compare it with a long distance lower intensity run). This endurance training is less impactful in contractions, because it's mainly focussed on type I and those fibers are not in full contraction (you feel a shaky contraction). It's normal that the muscle soreness impact is low or not at all. Muscle soreness isn't always the key marker for improvement, but that's another discussion. You have to look at your goal. Endurance is mainly for low impact, but I think you want to be more resistant against fatigue during your trail run competition. In trail running you have lots of interval, so in that case I should recommend the program resistance or strength. It also involves Type II muscle fibers for more intensive strength. You need this for example when you run uphill. The intensitylevel is individual and needs to go as high as possible, but with the opposite muscle in control! I think you selected in the Compex Coach app the goal of "improve my quadriceps endurance", am I correct? That's a basic training. Instead of that I advice you to select "Prepare my trail" objective and I think that suits you better. I hope this is an answer to your question.
@@CompexAcademy Dear Arno, thx for your answer. I have choosen the "prep for Trail more than 70km and it always recommends the Quadrizeps training. Maybe I should chose resistant training instead of Endurance as you said.
@@CompexAcademy ah, in the programm "prep for trail" it does not tell me which programm to use exactly, it just shows where to place the electrodes
@@miguelmike2555 Yes, try resistance (my personal favorite). You can do it 3x per week, you need 1-2 days rest in between. Good luck!
What is the EV spread and Nature on your Electrodes?
I don't think I fully understand your question. What do you mean exactly?
Why do some of your units say no chest placements n some do?
I can be mistaken of course but on all our devices we show chest placement. Only due to new (medical) regulations we must give a small warning sign based for people with heart issues. It's just for regulations. Compex impulse is in my opinion the safest impulse in the market and 100% safe.
What good is having only one MI lead on the wired? How can it scan on another seperate muscle different channels
It can't. You always need to place the Mi-lead on the weakest muscle. Based on that calculation he applies the most comfortable impulse and all functionalities to all channels. So always place the Mi-sensor on the weakest or affected muscle. The Wired device software can only coop with 1 sensor. The advantage of a wireless device is that we included the Mi-sensor in all modules. The technology is better and therefore also more investment.
Well people complain about the sp8 pods falling off vs the wired sp4. Also if something happens to charging dock for the wireless your out of more money
There are pros and cons for both. The modules need to be bigger, because of technology inside of the modules and therefore a bit heavier. A charging dock defect is more money outside warranty indeed. But all modules, charging dock and remote are under warranty (3 years when registration website and for SP8.0 WOD edition even 5 years), where for wired devices only the device has 3 years warranty. Cables and battery only 6 months. But your remark also replies for all modern electronics. When something happens with the battery of your Phone you also cannot replace it simple (as in the past), but costs more money. The warranty of the wireless Compex devices are better than the wired in my opinion, so I would always recommend to invest on a wireless if possible.
Do you have issues with them falling off? Charging dock issues ?
When the electrodes are worn down or when you sweat a lot, the weight of the modules can pull off the electrodes. In that case we have elastic straps as an accessory for an extra fixation. Charging dock issues are only occurring when people aren't carefully using the docking station. The pins inside the docking can break or pushed in. Personally I have multiple SP8.0's for years and never broke or pushed in a pin. If it happens within warranty time we always replace the charging dock.
Hi Arno, thank you for your video. My question is if it's possible to substitute a big one snap with a big two snap using only one snap of it.
Yes it's possible. You basically connect than 2 small ones, so the surface of stimulation is a bit less.
@@CompexAcademy Thank you Arno. But maybe you got me wrong. I wanted to know if it makes any difference if I use a big double electrode but using just one of the snaps instead of a big one single electrode (as I ran out of the big single ones).
@@michaelbrenner9529 yes you can. The double snap are basically 2 small electrodes on one “sticker”. So when you connect one snap, you connect one small electrode. When you stimulate, the impuls goes from electrode A to electrode B, so that’s what I meant with smaller surface. Tip: if you normally use electrode A and B with single snap long ones, you can use 2 double snaps and make a diagonal connection. If you need a picture clarification, send me an email: Arno.bosman@enovis.com
@@CompexAcademy Thank you again Arno. Now I know what you meant. The email is on the way ;-)
First, congrats for a very good explanation - I've been looking for sth like that for a long time. One advice: please consider turning off music in the background - personally I find it very annoying, and makes focusing on Your content really challenging...
Thanks for your compliments and advice.
I have an SP4.0 and use it often with 4- 6 of the 2x2 pads down my lumbar spine. Do I need a mi-sensor lead for each port/pad or will one lead act as a master sensor for the SP4 unit?
Hi Andrew, you will only need 1 mi-sensor cable. This cable will indeed act as a master sensor.
