I love barre! I became a certified instructor in 2015 shortly after I discovered the class at a local gym. Barre is so good for you! It's low impact, builds strength, improves flexibility, improves balance can be done anywhere, and by just about anyone. I tell people it's great cross-training for life! Hair? What hair?! You should see me when I'm working out with you! Ok, I don't have much hair yet due to chemo but the rest of me!!! 😂 This was a tough one even though I only went down halfway on those Pliés and Curtsy Lunges. And my calves really were on🔥during those calve raises. I was cleared to return to full body strength training last week using light to no weights so I'll definitely repeat this one - is every other day ok or should I rather opt for every three days (always provided my body agrees to working out)? I'll come out of chemo early December and I'm prone to overdoing things 🙈

Can I use weights for this if I did strength training yesterday??
Hi Karen, yes you can. I would use lighter weights - 1lb or 2lb. You can always set them down if it feels like much.
You are always such a delight. I have a broken foot but I did this workout the best that I could with lots of modifications. If you think your hair was bad you should see mine! hahaha! From a 70 year old who adores you and your delightful workouts. Charlene

Omg I've been having the worst foot and calf cramps all night long because of those toe lifts! Too many for a beginner!!
Hi Beth, dang I'm so sorry to hear that! I get them too sometimes. Stretching before bed definitely helps and drinking plenty of water so you're well hydrated. Keep at it - you're doing great!

Oh, wow!! 😲 I'm revisiting some older videos after managing to aggravate my left hip/lower back/leg. I was told this could be a direct side effect of chemo but I doubt it because I had the same problem a year ago, long before I was even diagnosed. Anyway, this workout was tough! I switched the standing leg when we turned to face the chair, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do all of it. Thank you for doing the figure-4-stretches on both sides both times! It helped a lot. Now I feel I've earned an evening of knitting or cross stitching 😃 PS: My heart rate didn't actually shoot up all that much but it sure felt like it! Highest was 114 bpm, average just 91 bpm, my Apple Watch tells me. I'm 55.

Lower Saxony, Germany 🇩🇪 Wonderful class to do while a storm is howling outside (and at other times as well). I was a quite a bit wobbly, especially doing the curtsey lunges, but was able to see the whole workout through. I do love that I have never needed to quit any of your workouts because I couldn't keep up! 😍 Those stretches felt really good to my body - I've been neglecting them recently 🙈

@@Barrewithbiscuitandangie If you ever decide to make the trip it might be best to book a guided tour. Germany is such a diverse country with the Alps in the South and the North Sea and Baltic Sea in the North, historic (or romantic?) castles, modern cities. You'd probably get a headache (and need a ton more workouts) just trying to read up on all the sights and plan a route otherwise ;-) And once over here don't find where you need to go. It has happened to me, and I have lived here all my life! 😇

Two weeks ago my chemo was changed up and I now get some other, less aggressive stuff. It has eliminated most of the more annoying side effects but I still have days where I'm very tired and have no energy. It's nice to have another seated workout to fall back on 😃 I think I now need a dedicated strength & stretch workout for the inexperienced knitter because your stretches emphasized just how stiff my neck, shoulders and arms are. And don't even get my started on my hips and lower back from being seated on the sofa so much. I used to be an avid knitter - 35 years ago! Now my muscles want to know what the heck I'm doing 😉
