From February to April 2023, I embarked on a trip from Mexico down to Colombia, through Central America.
I'll be making a video (or two) for each country I visited, where I documented some of my happiest and not so happy moments, and everything in between.
I'm a keen photographer and drone pilot, but I'm definitely no pro at this - it's just my own humble solo adventures.

How do the challenges you overcame while travelling effect your daily life? Where are you travelling next, what's on your wish list? Oh, and the shoes you're wearing, which brand are they? Dang, watching these vlogs I see I got really lucky with the weather and sea conditions. I could never do a trip like this, and share an accommodation space with 20 strangers.😂 I only visited on a day trip, and it was sufficient for me. The islands YOU showed seem quite different from the western end of the archipelago, which I visited. I think the western islands get more tourists so they're a bit less rustic. You can get private rooms with regular beds. But your islands seem larger and appear to have better beaches and reefs. It really is a shame about the trash though. I saw that all throughout Panama. It was interesting to compare them though. Your experience with the locals also seem "interesting"😂 Your video was uploaded around the same time as mine, so I wonder if we visited around the same time. Safe and happy travels.

    was that in suchitoto for the $2 man's cut? lol . Is the woman's cut more? I actually need a trim when i arrive lol I wanted to ask you if getting to Suchitoto requires going back to San Salvador and/or santa ana? I have 14 days, but i arrive on a monday so I was thinking of this : 1N juanyua, 2 N ataco, 3n Santa Ana, 1n near the santa ana volcano hikes to be closer (but then I'd like to return to Juanyua for their sunday food fest --do you think it's worth the trouble to return and interrupt my trip onward to suchitoto and lake llopango? Or, I was thinking spending more time on the ruta de flores all consecutive days (a week) then head to santa ana...but not sure if i'd have enough to do for that many days...any advice would be appreciated!!! leaving in a couple days.

    • @walkerlust
      @walkerlust 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SeekerFitness haha yes it was in Suchitoto! You definitely get the most bang for your buck there. I'm unsure about how much a woman's hair cut costs, but I'm sure it won't break the budget there! Honestly, what I've learned with travel over the years is that you can't do and see it all. Suchitoto is very sweet, but I wouldn't derail your entire itinerary for it! Especially since you're seeing so many other exciting parts of El Salvador which I sadly didn't have time for. To get to Suchitoto, it depends on what mode of transport you have. I met my friends in San Salvador and we drove in their rental car from first to Ilopango, then to Suchitoto, which definitely took a few hours and even longer in traffic on the way back from Suchitoto. It's definitely doable but just depends on how much time you have in those 14 days. You could easily do it all in a day like I did so within 14 days you would likely have time! It could even be a day trip from Sam Salvador ☺️

    Im so sorry for your burn on the motorcycle! :( it REALLY mustve sucked for how much you mentioned it throughout the video. Your energy permeated so much to the video, that I was so sad all half and hour! Didnt like seeing such a sad video releated to my beautiful Costa Rica.

    At the end you said you were getting used to men looking at you wherever you went. I hope they had the decency to remain quiet, opposite of the Neanderthal’s you met in Guatemala. I have no intention to be disrespectful, nor harsh or rude, or anything negative - but let’s face it … you are an attractive woman and that draws attention to you when you’re alone in the street. If the attention is negative or not appreciated give the jerks your middle finger. The finger has no language barrier. Everyone knows what it means. We cannot change these behavior of these “men”, but we can ridicule them with sarcasm and irony if we are prepared. Nothing disarms a macho attitude as quick as some ridiculing humor. But it has to be prepared, because unless you can think really quick on your feet you have to have a prepared verbal defense again most these Neanderthals.

    You couldn’t but notice the trash everywhere in GUA. The reason for it is that in general the country doesn’t have an organized plan for collecting trash. In civilized countries collecting trash is a business, i.e.,trash has a value. But not in GUA. The locals with little to no education drop their trash where they stand and couldn’t care less about it. It’s the same all over the country. It’s trash everywhere you look. The politicians don’t care either because trash doesn’t bring them more votes.

    As a Swede living in Guatemala I’m sorry to hear you encountered the cat calling (and worse) that Guatemalan men are capable of. They are just not used to women claiming the same respect males are granted. When it comes to women way too many Guatemalan men are pure assholes. Especially if they are from rural areas. That said, so far I’ve seen two of your great videos from Guatemala and I will watch the rest. I’ve shared one of them on my TH-cam channel called Pacaya Overland. Pacaya has a special place in my heart. I’ve walked it 3 times, and driven it twice in my 4x4. Yes, I was there during its last long lasting eruption when it showed us a massive lava river. All are good memories for life, just as the one you got, I assume. Please remember the good Guatemala and try to ignore the bad parts.

      @@walkerlust 1st - About the awful men you met … If you return, the less chest you display the better, and I don’t think this is an issue in GUA only. In general, too many men are jerks wherever they are from. You are a young attractive woman and that attract attention from jerks who are not taught to respect women. Your best defense from jerks is a man accompanying you. Your male company will be a deterrent for the cat calling jerks as they, in general, will not dare to display disrespectful behavior in front of another man/boyfriend/husband in fear of a physical conflict. 2nd - I have a very well equipped, but small Gen4 Suzuki Jimny, and if you return and want to go for a 4x4 drive I know some very decent respectful people that happily will take you (with or without company) for a day or two drive on the backroads and tracks of Guatemala. Wishing you all the best and hoping to see you in GUA.
