    You did a great job with that, especially if it's your first build. I love the Gibbz because of non-reciprocating, and I can charge and stay on target. Mag changes, you don't even have to drop the sights. They are so smooth it was designed by two x NASA guys. Being an AK guy, Gibbz also makes an upper for the palmetto state armory ks-47 so you can switch uppers to a right side charging. It's an uncommon AK build and uses AK mags, which is my absolute favorite build.

    I love those uppers they are the best. Just make sure you always have an extra cam pin. It's proprietary, as im sure you know. It's the smoothest upper on the market. Xproducts used to make a side charger, and it was the best, but it got sued out of existence. So, the xproducts are still around the upper, and it is not. You only have to cut one tab, then take a file and fit the guard tab to the upper.

I ordered a p30L directly from them with the GG SRT and RMR optic mount and I’ve had issues with the trigger sticking upon reset where it wouldn’t go all the way forward to having their modified extended roll pin that interfaces with the optic mount coming loose cause they installed a pin that was too thin in diameter than the hole

      Thanks for the suggestion! I actually wasn't planning on doing a video on this at first since I had already done similar videos on my MR556 when it was refinished, but thinking more on it, there was quite a bit of work done on the MR762 for the ambi parts & extended castle nut to fit that would be enough to warrant a video on, so I'll have one up probably in the next few weeks.

    Nice looking rig you've got there and another excellent video. For my neck length the offset works best for me as well as the fact that I manage to keep the same cheek-weld when rolling the rifle back to the primary optic (I may just be weird that way lol) but your explanation covers both the pros and cons of each set-up and will probably help quite a few undecided shooters. I'm about to send out my MR762A1 for some refinishing work as well. Are you pleased with the service and quality of work on you rifle? Would you recommend them and also, what was the turn-around time? Regards

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks, and glad you liked the video! Overall I'm happy with how my MR762 turned out but it did take a while at ~9 months exact. I had Black Ops Defense do the work on this rifle. The reanodization on the upper and lower receiver is excellent, however they were unable to reanodize the buffer tube this time so that ended up getting Cerakoted which I'm concerned about the durability on especially since that sees quite a bit of wear with the stock sliding on it. I also had them mill the lower for the ambi parts and the buffer tube to fit the extended castle nut, all of which turned out great. All in all, the work itself is great but took way longer than it should have. It seems like the majority of delays come from the reanodization process, so if you're fine with Cerakote it would probably end up going way faster.

    • @RevolverOcelot79
      @RevolverOcelot79 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Feldmutze Thanks for the response. 9 months? Ouch! That must’ve been tough without your baby. Yeah there’s no way I’m saying goodbye to my rifle for at least 9 months. I’ll seek out a reputable ceracoater and ship it off for the upper and lower receivers to be done though I’ll still give Black Ops a call to see if they can at least give a ballpark estime for their services Why weren’t they able re-anodize the buffer tube, Would that have added another couple months or something?

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze วันที่ผ่านมา

      If I remember correctly they tried to reanodize the buffer tube but the anodization came out inconsistent and blotchy so they Cerakoted over it. There are some parts they can re-re-anodize and I ran into that when I had them do my MR556 build, but I assume since the buffer tube is already a thinner aluminum it could cause issues to try to repeatedly reanodize that part.

    With the Polymer feed lips on AKs, do you have any videos elaborating on the issue? I have some Polish mags that are all Polymer and they hold up pretty well. How many rounds does it take before the polymer mags start to break compared to steel reinforced lips? I guess I just don't shoot enough to see major differences. Where I do see wear on the Polish mags is on the locking lug, since that is plastic too, but I haven't yet had a feed lip failure.

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I haven't done on a video on polymer feed lips, and don't have a general round count on when those would start to break but on most it'll probably be in the thousands of rounds. It depends moreso on the specific magazine instead. A lot of newer magazines are using thicker and/or better polymers so even the full polymer feed lips on Polish should last you quite a while, especially if you aren't dropping the magazine a bunch.

    Not sure if this is by design or just "we don't care because we are russian - fuck you" .. but the IR signature of the Gorka as you say is pretty bad when it comes to the reinforcement parts which are polyester afaik. Having used my PVS14 out during spring/summer one realizes that chlorofyll causes all green leaves reflecting quite a lot aswell. Same goes with snow i guess, having a very reflective polyester overwhite snowblouse is awesome and having something as non-reflective as my UF-Pro or Crye pants is a dead giveaway... One trick i have heard about is to rub dirt on those parts so as to "naturalize" them.... Cheers and thanks for good content,

    Great review. I just picked up my CAT WB 718 the other day too. Funny enough, I was debating between the plan b and the dual lok as well, and I chose to go with the dual lok, and it is great too. The dual lok is definitely rock solid, and it only adds 1 oz in weight over the plan- B low-pro adapter from Wolfpack, but it does add an extra inch in OAL as you know.

    • @tylergoldstein
      @tylergoldstein 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Also, my CAT WB weight was 13.9 oz without any mounts installed, which is now listed on their website as the "mil" weight, but I heard the true military reenforced WB's that were accidentally released were over 15 oz, which sounds closer to the weight of yours. I have still yet to see anyone get a hub 718 WB that was not heavier than the 12.8 oz listed as the civilian weight on their site. Seems like CAT may be making iterative changes to the design without telling customers, and instead they are calling it "mil" haha.

    • @Feldmutze
      @Feldmutze 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's really good to know on the weights, I didn't know their mil versions had a different weight. I was also thinking it's possible the extra weight on my WB 718 is potentially leftover from the manufacturing process that would blast out over time. It's something I'll check when I eventually clean this to see if the weight goes down from its original point.

    Will never support CAT no matter how appealing there product may show A company whose name is Specterscat. Really is Specter Scat because scat equals shit Their website looks like a 14 year old on acid made it. Its horribly designed and so cringe The whole Mr. Gingers box of toys. So is it Specters Cat, or Mr. Ginger. Then the stupid names they give their products. White bread, Dirty Dave, Old Dirty Bastard. Not appealing at all Their warranty sucks dick. Lets also not forget that their hub compatible can will not be warrantied if you are using someone elses muzzle device. So why the hell did they make a hub compatible can. They charge you 20% while the rest of the industry does unconditional lifetime warranty (I understand it may be impossible to repair 3D printed cans but still. Not appealing) We have no name or face for the company. They don’t own their own FFL, CGS holds it and CGS is already known for bad communication and warranty. From readings online Cat is the same if not worse Their stupid cringe AI videos with the name MEOW I have never wanted to see a 2A company fail more than CAT. Stay in R&D and get out of marketing. If not then you need a full overhaul of the company

    Good review. Where did you find the HK AR mags?

      Thanks! I picked up most my HK AR mags through Frontier Armory. They might not have the black mags in stock currently, but I think they still have RAL8000 and Sand ones.

    It's a small thing, but I really appreciate that you just review things the way you do and aren't another one of the "I bought this suppressed SBR because I want to survive my work commute in case the North Koreans invade or the power grid suddenly goes out and I have to fight my way home."-kind of shit. You're also just pleasant to listen to.

      Thank you, really glad you're liking the reviews! I know what you mean, I've seen a fair bit of those types of reviews too lol, they get really over-the-top. While sometimes they do have a good point to being prepared, other times I actually find those types of reviews can be pretty amusing especially when they get really outlandish.

      @@Feldmutze It's really about how the message is conveyed and not really the core of the message. It feels like Fear Mongering or Fear Advertisements basically. If you own a firearm you should in my opinion mainly have one for fun, it shouldn't be a demonized hobby you can enjoy without worrying about foreign invasion and civil wars. You should respect the firearm and not treat it like a toy that you can be careless with, if you then train for proficiency and it will potentially aid you if there is a burglar or somebody else who by the small chance of wanting to do you harm, all good as well. But you shouldn't buy a gun because a TH-camr instilled fear in you.

    Feld, thanks for your review. Your experiences mirror mine since I got my WB 718 paired with an 11.5" upper. It's amazing how advanced the Surge Bypass technology is and how little gas you get back to the face while also getting RC2-like sound performance. One thing I did to my can was cerakote it because the raw inconel was getting marked up easily. The media blasting process smoothens out the texture and at the end of it you can see little 3D printing artifacts which is neat.

      Thanks for watching and for commenting on your experience too! I don't think I mentioned it in the review but I noticed the same on mine where the finish wears pretty easily. I might look into getting mine cerakoted too.

    My particular rifles do not shoot good groups with Golden Tiger. In fact they were the largest groups of the 5 brands I tried. I will say the groups were better than your first go round.

    Do not loctite the new Aimpoints. They have helicoils, which can be damaged by threadlocker.

    The reinforcement plate issue is the same reason I had to take the Tango Down grip off my KR-9. Super uncomfortable having your hand jammed into the edge of the hinge.
