NA heavy barrel uses same a5 agb?
have guys usedothercar barrels to make hk clones?
what rail is that?
if i get an arz15 barrel and get theboltextension changed to fitan a5 system would the agb work?
your ak looks fantastic, immaculate taste
Love the video but ganna be real, nir is a meme and i've never seen anyone run intensifiers on due to it turning your nvg into a massive torch which glows much brighter than any ''non nir'' cloth.
Ive been using the LRP mounts for a lever gun 30-30 and have had zero issues with it, did you consider that and still go with Geiselle?
I have a MRO mount in DDC and scope mount in DDC. 2 👍 up
The bolt lug wear seems to from the bolt failing to fully unlock and being forced to ‘jump’, rounding the corner. The softer of the metals wear down so the bolt lugs are first to go. In the past PSA’s trunnions were softer so you’d see more wear on them compared to the bolts. Your wear doesn’t look horrible but it’s definitely not ideal. I can’t remember if you have or not but I’d make sure the headspace is good with a field gauge. M26 had his lose headspace fairly soon.
I've been checking the headspace quite a bit since hitting 1K rounds and it's still safe to shoot but it's starting to lose headspace. I'm at 1.5K now and it closes about 1/3 of the way on a no-go gauge but it's not taking a field gauge yet.
What kind of cheek riser and recoil pad are you using on your triangle stock? Those look solid.
I'm using an ME cheek riser and one of the "Russian recoil reducing pad for triangle stocks" from Russian Surplus.
What flash hider is that may i ask? Appreciate the low light shooting footage. How well do you think the FH performs?
Thanks for watching. I'm using an Arsenal USA AR-M1 flash hider and it works great for flash reduction, very comparable to a lot of other closed-tine flash hiders. One pretty major issue I run into with it though is that it induces quite a bit of dispersion into my groups at least on the two rifles I've used it on (this PSA AK and my SLR-104FR), usually increasing the group size by around 1.5 - 2 MOA which I think is due to it being a bit of a loose fit.
@@FeldmutzeI recently mounted a Rearden Cyka on my PSA 101 & like it so far. No tine ringing thankfully. As you’re a Plan B/Atlas user they’re worth looking at.
Nice, I've been considering the Rearden AK muzzle devices a bit so that's good to know. I've been on the fence about suppressing my AKs since each of them have potential issues that risk damaging the suppressor, but my SLR might work out and I have been wanting to try suppressing it for a while.
Have you considered getting a KPYK Stock? I think you might like it, since it comes with the cheek riser and gives some adjustability overall. A Classic triangle stock is always a good style choice.
I've looked at it and if I do another AK build I might pick one up. I would prefer the folding version and one complaint I saw on reviews when I first started looking into it is that it doesn't lock in the folded position which I don't like, but it otherwise has a lot of good features I'd want to check out.
Zenitco stuff is still available for furniture.
Which vendors are selling Zenitco these days? All the old places I bought it from have issues making it difficult to purchase or import.
The new mr762 a4 is in stock now. When are you buying one to review 😎
It'll be a while since I already own an A1 it's pretty low with how I'm prioritizing, but I will be picking one up at some point.
@ i keep going back and forth between the mr762 and the lmt l129. First world problems.
This series is the most beautiful. Outperforms an AK 12.
I could see that for the real AK-100 series. The PSA AK-100 clones are quite low quality though and pretty much just outwardly look like an AK without any of the real reliability or durability.
Your pet squirrel is out. 😂
what kind of gloves are those?
These are Historical Emporium riding gloves. I wouldn't really recommend them as they don't have very good quality, I just forgot I had them from years ago and I'm trying to use them up now lol
Looks like they're leather.
Hey man I really love your content and following your builds ! I just wanted to ask your opinion since you have both mr556 and mr726 I currently have the mr556a1 all stock I’m going to do some optics and stuff soon but I can’t stop wanting the my762a1 and I found one locally at my shop I go into and I really want to get it would you recommend having both of them from your ownership experience would you still have both or would you build something different in the 308 platforms I love h&k and I think you can’t go wrong with them I would be doing a long range spec setup on that one and keeping the 556 as a tactical toy that would get most of the upgrades as of right now thank you any advice helps also the one is a long range package super expensive but its all I can get here locally right now and want to jump on it but not sure if it’s worth it or waiting for a4 model thank you
I'm liking both the MR556 and MR762 still and I'd absolutely buy them again if I had to choose. The MR762 LRP is grossly overpriced and you'd be much better off waiting for an MR762A4 especially with the improvements they made on the A4. They're already showing up on a few stores so I don't imagine it will be too long for the A4s to proliferate.
USA manufacturers of realize that people will modify their mags to have a last round hold open. Plus I intentionally bend all of my regular 7.62 x 39 magazines follower tips that way. Louding, feeds and compresses into the magazine is easier.
I ordered the URAC for my 11.5” Geissele URGI and it wouldn’t work. Spent over a month of back and forth Emails sending a bunch of pictures and measurements. Long story short with how the handgaurd on the 11.5 URGI sits to close to the SURFIRE 4 prong flash hider so when the URAC device is mounted the Surefire RC2 can’t fully seat and lock on. So they ended up sending me a standard MRAC. Kinda disappointed about that but at least I can still use it.
You're not doing the stripper the right way. You lying the strip club and everything put the stripper clip upwards towards the top of the table and the bullets on the edge of the table. Magazine against your hip and you just thrust like you're humping and all the ammo goes into the mag.
No, I've tried that and every other method I can think of and these stripper clips still consistently bind up every few rounds.
Mine is missing the mono pod but it has the aircraft site. But has been sportarized to look like a deer rifle. Most wood on barrell has been removed. Looks like a 30.06.
My sister won one in a raffle. From what i could find it was made in 1939.
How have you liked the Midwest side rail? I'm trying to put an optic on another AK and don't want to spend the money on another b33 with current prices so I'm looking for a good side rail.
I'm liking it a lot. The mount is really sturdy and I've had no problems with it whatsoever.
@Feldmutze thanks for the feedback. I think I'll try one out
Thanks man! I was looking for pretty much this is exact info. You don't happen to know how well this set up would line up with an Iray RH25 thermal clip on do you?
Glad the video helped! I don't have an RH25 thermal to confirm exactly but I do have an RL25 and everything lines up.
@@Feldmutze Awesome, I'm pretty sure they have they same body. Thanks again for having the exact info I was looking for!
Dude wtf?!?! On a bad day I can hold a 4" group at 100yds. Is your bbl shot out?
Nope, my barrel is good, it's just bad ammo.
@Feldmutze damn, thanks for the research. I'll stay far away from that crap!
Hey good video. I got a question do you think that old us surplus like the alice y harness and belt glows under nir because its green nylon?
I don't have one to test so I'm not sure, but it should be fine. Most US surplus gear even from that era doesn't have issues with NIR remission.
Brother...I'm a AR guy... But got one galil ace gen 1 rifle.. What kind of stock are you running? Especially the cheak riser.?
I'm using a Bulgarian triangle stock with an ME cheek riser and one of the Russian bolt-on buttpads.
LOL "Enhanced Reliability Piston" You are chasing issues that are created when you replace the parts/barrel with one made by some third party. Of course the HK reliability goes down the drain if you use a third party barrel. You already mentioned issues with gas hole size etc.. And of course they sell you on another product to fix the issues that their first product creates. Getting an HK and then replacing key parts with third party parts defeats the whole purpose of getting an HK. Just leave it at stock configuration. I got an HK for its proven reliability and kept it all stock. It runs flawless with even the cheapest Winchester ammo, the dealer sold for cheap giving no guarantee that it would cycle. But my HK has no issues shooting it because all my parts are stock.
They don't do any surface treatment at all for the bore? That's crazy, I guess that takes me out of the purchase. They could at least nitride it.
Why haven't you tried out full auto?
This is a semi-auto rifle.
The modern Bundeswehr Feldmütze sucks hard, if you have headsize above 23inch or have a roundish shaped head I would not consider it at all due to its elongated cut! It not only looks silly, it falls off your head(no form fitting) and its not very waterproof, & brim is too short. The old pre-WW2 Feldmütze or Bergmütze is a different type of animal, its thick and insulating, long brim, foldable ear protection, and it is kind of oversized in comparison so it protects much more of the head and even a little bit the ears.
Good points and I can see that being an issue especially for a more round head shape. At least as far as sizing, I haven't had an issue with any of my hats fitting and I wear a size 60 cm/23.6". I've seen those original Bergmütze and they seem to be a very good option just unfortunately never in my size, though I do wonder if they'd interfere with hearing protection since they're so much thicker. The lack of brim on the Bundeswehr version is definitely the biggest shortcoming. Recently I've started leaning more towards the M43 style of hat since that additional brim length helps a lot.
@@Feldmutze yeah the old ones have a brim large like a baseballhat! In the field I need a hat that stays on my head against wind and branches, and it should protect and camoflage most of the head. The modern Feldmütze is just bad at all of that for me. The only good thing about it is you can fold it and carry it in your pocket. It only works in conjunction with a headset, so it stays on. Due to duty regulations to wear it I tried various sizes and brands, it just gets worse after 60cm, cause with size the depth of the hat stays the same as a small cap.
@@Feldmutze if the old style touches your ears it won't work ear protection, it's just not build for that. It is as the name says, a cap made for mountaineering. It probably got adapted for field use cause it is very functional in the weather but still compact to not interfere with slings, googles and shooting. Different age, no Peltors yet.
Do you plan to try WPNTec tiggers? Older mimir or newer Fenris?
I hadn't looked much into them before but I wouldn't mind trying them. I'm not sure if that's one I can get here in the US unfortunately though.
@@Feldmutze Well, I cannot get NA regulated gas block here in the EU, so we can have a deal if you're interested.
Where did you get the cheek riser for that stock
This is an ME cheek riser I picked up from AK Guys.
@Feldmutze thank you for that information keep up the good work
What flashlight mount is that?
I am asking for your advice. I really like chromed barrels and that’s not going to change. Which would you recommend? Haus, Brn-4 heavy chrome (can be sent to STS to modify to fit A5 build) which is made by Faxon or Nefarious Arms 11” chrome barrel? I’m building two HK 416 clones and I am putting a lot of HK real parts on it like the upper receiver but what’s more important to me is performance and durability. Do you have a link to a parts build and where to get them?
I've had really good experiences with Nefarious Arms barrels. I don't have personal experience with the BRN-4 barrels but given that they're button rifled compared to CHF you can expect better durability from both the Nefarious Arms and Haus barrels. On the recent Nefarious Arms 14.5" barrel I picked up, I'm able to shoot sub-MOA groups so it's a really well made barrel. I haven't tried Haus barrels so I can't say how well those shoot. I did a build overview on my MR556 here th-cam.com/video/jRZt7I25hho/w-d-xo.html and an in-depth precision test on my 16.5" Nefarious Arms barrel a while back here th-cam.com/video/WjdjA1k1PfI/w-d-xo.html I can't link directly to sites to purchase the barrels due to TH-cam but you can get Nefarious Arms barrels either by contacting Beth @ Nefarious Arms . com or HK Parts net currently has the A3-spec barrels in stock, and they've had the A5-spec versions available in the past too. Haus should have some more 11" barrels back in stock directly on their site relatively soon too, they put out batches pretty frequently.
Arsenal is the way
Please review Shovelnose 12” with DWilson dimpled barrel and compare to HK 416 clones
Thanks for the suggestion. If I can find one for a good price I'll keep it mind for the future but I'm not too interested in picking one up currently.
Are you on hkpro?
I browse it frequently to keep up with product releases and news but no I don't have an account there.
My two cents I have a sar 1 with over 13000 rds down the pipe bolt lugs are hammered tang on bolt carrier is mushroomed still has tight head space
My very first trigger for my first ar build back in 2019 was an lmt (like this but not the euro version)
The Ballistic Engineering triggers are all able to be placed on safe on a dropped hammer. I can't see them advertising this feature on the site anymore, but they used to tout this boldly. It does, in fact, do this, as tested in my MK11 308.
Oh cool, thanks for mentioning that. I will check those triggers out.
@@Feldmutze Can absolutely recommend. The Core trigger might be more your speed, but you can opt for curved triggers in all three models.
Welp, guess I'll pick one of these up for my DMR build instead of an SLT-1. Also, nice little injection at 1:26, dunno if you've had that before or its the first time I noticed.
Seems like a good choice, I do think this Axle trigger is quite a bit better than the SLT-1 personally, and thanks! I've used similar injections before on occasion but this one turned out pretty well imo.
Yeah ima have to get this
What is the shroud on the suppressor on the carbine with the Axle trigger you are currently reviewing? Very interesting.
That is a Modtac U-RAC.
@@Feldmutze Was this the same one that we were talking s*** about a little bit ago and telling you about my dead air attachment and finally finding plenty? Sorry to go off your question bro... but now I'm kinda asking the same question.
I think that was the Rearden Icarus blast diffuser from a few weeks ago. That blast diffuser only fits on Plan B muzzle devices but the Modtac U-RAC is a rail-mounted shroud and is compatible with any suppressor.
@@Feldmutze Think so too. Have to look it up again. Also... we're still stealing this guys question. Aplogize again bro. Does that modtac work on 308's?
It'll depend on the exact .308 due to the rail height. My MR762 has a taller rail height so it causes the Modtac to collide with the suppressor, but if you have a .308 with an AR-15 rail height like an SFAR then it will work. Your best option is to measure your .308's distance from the barrel to the 12 o'clock rail and see if it matches up with any of Modtac's available models.
Keep up the good work fam #GetOnGab
Do you know if this'll work on a brn4 upper? For fun im looking to cut down my 14.5 to 12.5
Yes, this will fit on the BRN-4.
