Since I was looking into some of these myself recently, I would recommend either the Noveske KX5 for the ARs, or a Strela Gen 2 flash hider for the AKs (they're essentially the same construction). From what I've seen, unless you're shooting very dirty ammo or putting it on a very short barrel, the device gives you a significant reduction in flash and as you mentioned, concussion and noise is directed downrange. They're very similar to that hate brake, but I think the cone screws into the blast shield so it all becomes one piece, rather than having the gap that the hate brake does between the cone and shield.
I looked a bit at the Strela in the past but haven't checked it out too much in-depth. I'll give those both a better look as I would like to find a better flash hider for my AKs. My current AR-M1 flash hider does a good job at hiding flash but I recently found out it introduces more dispersion into all my groups.
@@Feldmutze Keep in mind both add a noticeable amount of weight out front, and if you're going to do that, you may as well use a suppressor. It may be more practical to use a suppressor host muzzle device and a QD blast shield. Griffin Armament for example, makes a few different styles of blast shield to fit their different mount styles as well as a huge selection of suppressor adapters. From my own use though, they all throw fireballs so...
I'm usually the exact same lol. I've been looking at a lot of muzzle devices recently for suppressor adapters but normally I just use any old flash hider and call it good. Thanks for watching!
Would you be able to test and compare the different muzzle devices you have while shooting at night? It would be interesting to see the muzzle signature of a linear comp vs a flash hider, muzzle brake, suppressor etc in low light conditions.
Sounds good. I'll start recording some footage of it. It'll be a while before I am able to upload it since I'll need to do it in several trips to the range, but it will happen.
I don't. I had a Discord for the channel a few years ago but there was a couple people that were causing a lot of unnecessary drama and annoyance it so I took it down, and I don't have time to moderate a Discord if I were to create a new one now.
You and Inferior rifles are my favorite weekly posts
Thanks! I agree on Inferior Rifles, he makes great videos. His recent 417 project has been really cool to see take shape.
Thanks for point out Inferior Rifles. Didn't know about that channel.

Compnesator? Haven't even thought about one of those in like 10 years lol. Wow. Great reminder and information though.

Thanks for the idea. Night would be a little tricky but I could record some comparisons around dusk if that would still help.
@@Feldmutze that would still be a valuable comparison. Would love to see a video on it.

@@Feldmutze Awesome! looking forward to it.
@@Kai-ky6tf That's done now. Here's a link to the vid on flash: th-cam.com/video/stP31qetdf8/w-d-xo.html
Have a surefire SOCOM MB, with a warden. Is the linear comp just a lighter version of my set up?
Pretty much, yes, though the muzzle brake + Warden setup you have might end up with a bit less muzzle flash than with a lot of linear comps.
Do you have a discussion discord?
