Hey, great work. Thanks for sharing. Have been watching the whole first year over the past days. Would you please explain why you used that inefficient thin foil insulation that is normally used to protect plants in garden pots from the cold in winter? You used a wooden frame to attach the foil and also used an aluminum frame to attach the plasterboard. Why didn't you choose a thicker wooden frame and much more effective insulation in between, and then attach the plasterboard directly to the wooden frame? I suspect that would have saved you 2-4 centimetres, would have been much cheaper in the end and would have been much more effective in terms of the indoor climate in the long term. I'm also curious to see how the embankment will develop in the future. Aren't you afraid of erosion over the years after you have removed the stabilizing roots of the many plants?
Amazing progress!!! Complimenti

Beautiful work! Bravo!!
I have learnt through the years that Olive oil especially the extra virgin is not good for frying .. it burns with high temperature or with deep frying... the nutritional elements of olive oil are kept when you eat it cold, heat could destroy olive oil properties. of course you do what you want, but it is an advice... I care because we are both from Krakow.... 🤣🤣.. anyway... great job.. 😘😘😘.. dziękuję
@@ffss53 it doesn’t matter to be honest because we eat it very often also cold as you said. It’s ok until it isn’t unsafe. I just use what we have locally. Thank you ♥️
@@ffss53 you inspired me and I checked and in the case of extra virgin (and that's what we use) the boiling point is high and you can fry it and additionally even after heating it contains a lot of polyphenols. I will delve even deeper into the subject in my free time! I love gathering new information about health and nutrition. ☺️
Extra virgin olive oil (cold press) is always the best option. Room temp obviously is better, but you can totally cook with it, and it'll still be the healthiest option. That's the only kind of oil we use. We cook everything that needs oil with it. I've learned that it's a misconception to think that it can't withstand high temperatures 😊
@@borgobaroti Correct 😊
@ thank you! Good to know♥️
I love seeing the local food and your cooking. I am going to try cooking carrots that way. I'm sure it feels good to take care of the road and keep building your infrastructure.

Delicious looking meal at the beginning with the use of olive oil. Could you state or list the ingredients of your next meal preparation as I am not sure what they were? The completed entry road will be so inviting once completed, especially with the lighting you will be incorporating. As usual, the stone walls are always completed in such an appealing and fitted manner. As usual, I look forward to next week's episode!

55 kg is too small weight, you added 45 kg to have the oil...no frantoio will squeeze 55 kg in italy...anyway it is a good beginning, learn how to prune olive trees and do treatments and you will reach 100 kg
@@Alesxandros and yet it worked, 55kg was enough
@borgobaroti 55 kg ? No mill will take it, minimum is 100, 120 kg

Congratulations on the olive oil. I'm sure when time permits you will get that process going better, but it's terrific to do what you can for starters!
the extraction of your extra virgin olive oil was produced cold press?
@@ffss53 I believe so
Congrats on your olive harvest, 1st ever! and successful concrete pour for cores! I love the overhead drone video. Can they be slightly angled too? To give a better perspective of 3D. It's hard to gauge depth sometimes of the scene when it is directly overhead.
@@JasonMohammed sure!
We used to love the olive harvest. Your resa not great, you need to time the picking so they are ripe, but not full of water which I suspect yours were. Surprised you got yours done in their own batch - 55kgs would have been too small for our mill. You need to invest in proper nets next year - makes it much easier. Olives may be easier that other crops but still not easy - pruning every year, clearing round base of each tree and feeding, watering through the summer and finally clearing all round trees so nets don't get snagged. Work on the new house looks amazing.
Thank you! we are aware of this. next year (if time let us do it) we will definitely prepare better. we will also take care of the trees. as I mentioned this year we weren’t planning the harvest, even the trees were neglected. when it comes to caring for trees I still think it is much less work than other fruit trees when you grow them to process a larger amount😊
@@borgobaroti Yes I am sure you are right regarding other trees but we only had a cherry, mulberry, almond and an apple tree. Most important of all tasks is a good pruning, but when it has been neglected for many years as yours were it will be a big job and result in a lower harvest. Good idea to get someone in who ypu can help while they show you how to do it. Also, was this a good year in your area ? Rare to have 2 good years in a row in our experience.... 2nd most important task is to clear the ground just before harvest - nothing more frustrating than ripping a big hole in your net and losing a lot of olives through it. Best case is you pick them up 1 by 1. Worst case is they all roll down the hill making picking up impossible !
Oooh, I forgot spraying the trees against the fly in the summer. Horrible job :(
@ our friends told us that usually one year is good, the next one is weaker and the next one is good again ect. I think that we will see the most from our own example when we actually start taking care of the trees and the harvest. You are right, from the beginning we talked to our local friends about what and how to do with the olive trees to do it well - now we just have to implement it at the right time ♥️
