It amazes me how many hunters dont sight in or zero their rifle. Opening day here is tomorrow, and several of the locals I know declined an offer to zero in their rifles for them or to provide my range for them to do on their own. More deer for me, I guess.
@@Valorius Maybe they don't want to know how mediocre they are. If you "don't know it" then you can blame it on the rifle, or the sun, or other hunters.
Even a close friend of mine, who was in the Army, didn't realize he need to sight in the laser sight he attached to his pistol. Thought all he had to do was mount it on the rail and it was good to go. The sad part like Hobowalker said, is them carelessly wounding animals and causing unnecessary suffering.
It is a beautiful day in South Texas. Where exactly are we? I do not recognize this landscape. Nice little rifle. Thanks for talking us through the changes that were made to it and your upgrades. I've never seen a "sight tapper" like that but I can see how handy it is to have in your range bag. Where do we find it?
Hey there Frank! Happy Friday! This location is near Barksdale Texas. More "Central" Texas than South. Is in the TX Hill Country which is beautiful but has some rough terrain. The sight tapper is called the "Wyoming Sight Drifter". I found it on the Skinner Sights website: skinnersights.com/collections/accessories-1/products/wyoming-sight-drifter
I'm always surprised how many guys don't know how to adjust iron sights.
I think that was the birth of "Kentucky Windage"
Nice rifle
You beat me in being first up to comment!
Thanks!
Early bird and all.... 😁
@@texmexshoots I was busy making my lovely bride a cup of tea, or I'd have been first.

Sadly find wounded and dead deer every year due to poor shots/unzeroed rifles.

IIRC back in the '60s & '70s those fifles were plentiful used, & priced to sell.
Yes, there were great used Winchester rifles and shotguns on the market back then according to my FIL. Now they all cost a pretty penny.
