Life is Grape in Tuscany
Italy
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 ต.ค. 2019
We are Rebecca & Pierre Gouttenoire.
We have a strong focus on local food and wine, and through our tour operator Grape Tours, we offer day tours from Florence but also multiple-day tours in other regions (www.tuscan-wine-tours.com).
In 2021 we opened a cheese and wine shop called Formaggioteca Terroir which you can visit in downtown Florence, Italy (www.formaggiotecaterroir.it) - it was awarded Cheese Bar of the Year in 2023 by the italian Cheese Awards.
As of 2022, we acquired an old Tuscan farmhouse in Chianti Classico called Campo Sasso, and in 2024 it is featuring on HGTV/MAX "Fixer to Fabulous - Italiano" (www.camposasso.com).
So we keep pretty busy but also enjoy doing random videos of what different things, from wineries, to villages, recipes, real estate and just things happening in our lives. Please follow along and come see us when you are in Florence!

My Favorite market in Florence with a local!
มุมมอง 1.6K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Come with me to the Sant'Ambrogio food market in Florence! It's literally one of the places I can't do without, and when I don't go personally I see what my friends get, like Giammi Mazzanti, who is a local foodie and regularly goes to the market. He then cooks up some fabulous dishes that he shares (pictures of). Today we follow him around to some of the best stalls, living the market as a local.

🤙 In this week’s video, you can join me on a walk around Florence and it is all about the Wine Windows or Wine Doors that you may have heard about since quite a few have been repurposed and opened in the past few years, creating a social media phenomenon. 🍷 Wine windows in Italian are called Buchette del Vino (small wine openings or holes), and in reality, they have been around for many hundred...

There's nothing like touring a village with a local, born and bred. That's why I asked Massimo to show us around Colle Val d'Elsa, as he has the village running through his veins! Colle is a village that is quite dear to me as I lived there for close to 10 years. Pierre and I even got married there. Memories... Thank you Massimo for sharing your knowledge of and passion for Colle! If you would ...

Campo Sasso house tour - our renovated farmhouse in Tuscany
มุมมอง 15K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
📰 It's about time that we show you what Campo Sasso looks like now, 8 months after the reveal on the TV show Fixer to Fabulous Italiano in late January 2024. We’ve spent the spring finishing all the loose ends and getting (mostly custom-made) furniture in by great local artisans. Every home is in continuous evolution and Campo Sasso will be just that. We need it to match our goals: to age chees...

so the news is that olive oil turns rancid in high heat...avacado oil is a high heat oil....but i hope you're right!
I saw this once before, but as I am returning to Italy mid December and going to Verona and the valdobiadine. I will be spending one day in each area. What are the recommended places to go to for tastings in both areas?. I am arranging a guide through a taste of Verona. That way, we will be taken to two wineries for in depth tasting that night. We are spending in Verona and eating at the.pumpiere. From what I’ve seen online, I would recommend your tour highly
Hi Ted, I think you’ve done the right thing in hiring a guide. They usually know the best little places and I would leave it in their hands. That’s how we run things in Tuscany 😜
Nice vid, but please rethink the music. Try something w/o lyrics and compliments what's being shown on screen.
thank you, I love that you know the best food and wineries to visit!
Please send the name of your wine store in Florence. I will be visiting the area for about two weeks from 15 December.
Ah coming for the holidays?! Beautiful during that time. The name of our wine & cheese shop is Formaggioteca Terroir (google map for directions), in the Oltrarno district of San Niccolo (more residential).
@ I will arrive in Florence on 15 December. I will be staying i Montevarchi with a friend. it is likely we will get into Florence one day by train. I have been coming to Tuscany since 1992 although my first visit was in 1970. I owned a place in.Castelnuovo berardenga for 15 or 16 years. My friend Seamus, who runs Chanti kitchen owned Costello spaltena in the 90s. He was on great chefs of the world and was also interviewed by CNN at that time. He was the chef at Costello Brolio for about eight years. Now he does cooking schools and catering. He is a great character and would make a great interview for your show. If you were interested in meeting him, let me know.
Thank you for sharing! Life is beautiful ❤
It really is! Or Grape 😅
❤🎉❤
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It just keeps getting better ✨
🥰
What's poured in the middle? White wine?😮
Yup 👍
Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful birthday.
I did! Thank you 😊
That would be Graziano and Brenda. We know them well also. ❤
Wow! Perfect tour guide and wonderful tour. Thank You!
Glad you enjoyed it!
We have only recently discovered your channel, but as we really enjoy your content we have now played catch up. So it really came as no surprise that we share November 2nd. This year I celebrated the day in Venice. Our story is that we live in our little cantina in Spello in Umbria for half the year and the rest back in Australia. We love your Tuscan insights and in fact we had a day in Castellina following your recent episode. We arrived back in Australia for Christmas and Summer etc yesterday. Tanti Auguri a noi!! We will be back in Italy around April next year so who knows maybe our paths will cross somewhere in Toscana or you may even head south east into the delights of Umbria and Spello? Salute Ian and my moglie Ruth.
I love Spello and have good friends there (they own a wine bar in Spello called Vinosofia you probably know it). Yes, hope to bump into you somewhere in Italy 😃
Beautiful! My husband and in were there in August for their dinner in the vineyard. It was magical! ❤
It is gorgeous isn’t it?! We’ve been to 3 vineyard dinners by now - they are spectacular!
We have visited Radda twice and love the village and surrounding area! Can’t wait to go back!
You’ll never get tired of it 😃
Loved the video! Beautiful history throughout!
Thanks so much!
Tantissimi auguri di buon compleanno!!
Grazie mille ☺️
All the best to you. enjoy ❤
Happy Birthday🎉
Buon compleanno, Rebecca! Fifty is not old!
Grazie mille - it's the new forties, right?! 😂

Grazie mille 🤩🥰

Thank you. Life is worth the best or you don’t.
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
I met Massimo when my wife and I stayed there in the fall of 2019!! A super friendly local… we had a few beers together over a few nights and talked about the changes in Italy and the world. I’m sure he won’t remember me as it was a casual encounter…we loved our three weeks spent in this perfect place 😊 My name is Tim. We stayed right across the street from the patio where you finished the video and enjoyed your wine…
This is so so cool! I sent the message to Max, he would love to reach out to you too!
This is "my" market when I am in Firenze, we walk everyday from San Niccolo’. Firenze is our second home.
buonissimo
A Firenze se beve la Hoha Hola senza hanuha 😊
Avoglia!
I have written you before about my friend Seamus and it turns out I am coming to Tuscany from 15 December to the 30th. At 81 years of age, it may be my last time. You indicated you might like to meet. If you do, let me know, I will be spending time based in montevarchi. However I am sure I will also be going to Castelnuovo and my friend Seamus might be there. I have written them about my trip, but I haven’t heard anything back yet.
Hi yes, I'll likely be at our cheese & wine shop, Formaggioteca Terroir, so if you get into Florence, do pass by!
My husband is 82 and I am 78. Florence is wonderful for us. To just hunker down and spend four to five weeks during Mud Season in Maine.
Loved this market tour, Rebecca! Where did you park?
Thanks! I was going to park in the il underground parking but found a spot in the street…
So fun!! Thank you, I'm just loving your channel...
You are so welcome, Julianna! Thanks for watching 😍
fabulous! Thank you!
Posti eccellenti
Interesting. What a lovely way to see Firenze.
Thank you Frances!
Beautiful
Thank you Rebecca, for sharing your wonderful tour in my beloved Veneto!
Thank you for such an informative episode with Matteo Faglia, I learned so much! Also looking forward to reading Robbin Gheesling's book.
Happy you liked it Fosca 🥰
Very beautiful! The spa is amazing! BTW, what is the song playing in the background towards the end of your video? I'm obsessed with it.
Let me check...

LOL, the entire world commented on how clever and intelligent the Italians were to come up with a take out window during the pandemic😂 never mind the billions of take out windows throughout the world. Oh the ego!😂
Except they weren't created FOR a pandemic, they were created to cut out the middlemen and wine mark up prices. They just happened to find a second use during plagues and pandemics.
I absolutely love the idea about a wine window. I own a small winery, a small tasting room actually the air condition unit that was built in the wall broke. I have to take it out and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do is replace it with the Wine window even though I’m here in Texas. I have a little Italy with me. Thank you so much for the idea.
Oh what fun. Make sure to send a picture when you’re done!
Love the video, Rebecca! I have always wondered about the wine window at Campo Sasso. Why do you have to climb a ladder inside to get to it?
Ah great question! It is connected to the lower part of the house, so where the pantry is now. But don’t worry, I only send Pierre up that ladder - I’m certain of that ladder being my death.
this guy clearly does not live in central Florence - otherwise he wouldn't be so enthusiasic about drunk tourists...
Don’t think he was referring to drunk tourists (who would be drunk with our without wine windows)
What a great tour!❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
What is the price?
Hi so I’m not the realtor and cannot really say…but my estimate as a neighbor is that it lies somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million euros ;)
Fabrizio is fabulous! Such a wealth of knowledge. Grazie!
Totally agree 👍
Lovely home and very exciting project! It might be nice to put a big mirror above the radiator as a first attempt to increase your view from the bed, and it will bring more light into the room.
Great idea!
OMG, I stayed ay Villa Bordoni 9years ago for a Milsestone Girls Birthday Trip. It was exceptional and Greve Chianti was such a wonderful place. Now, after multipule vistis to Italy I am preparing for a move to this beautiful country. Thank you for sharing this video and reminding me of the great memories I had at Villa Bordoni.
So cool! Where are you moving to?
