ah that's so sweet ty!! one of my favorite things about posting on youtube is that I can go back and see how my skills have improved :,) so i appreciate that!

hmm one thing I can think of that's helped is studying values! Before I draw/paint something, I'll turn the reference photo into greyscale so that I can see the values easier :-) I never used to do a big enough range in my shadows and I think that's helped a lot!

@@bri.forcier Thanks, that's something that I've started doing too. I've been practicing cross hatching (or at least, my version of it :P) and turning the reference image to grey scale has definitely helped.

@@shannonr8377 That's so funny because I've been practicing hatching all week!! It's surprisingly kind of challenging but it looks so nice when you commit to that style! I just posted one on my instagram :-)
