This film is a project I’ve been working on since March. First and foremost this ride was a fundraiser for @Mission22 , we raised $2400 for veterans in need of healing. If you would like to donate to Mission 22 here is the link to donate. give.mission22.com/campaign/trans-north-georgia-adventure/c503890 My buddy Clint Fowler planted the seed in my head to do the TNGA with as little as possibl...

My last post I talked about riding in the TNGA (trans north Georgia adventure) coming up in mid August. I also talked about doing a fundraiser for Mission 22. A organization that offers programs and events for veterans that deal with Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injuryamd other mental health issues. I talked about the struggles I’ve had with the TNGA course. In 2015 I did a mass amoun...

I want to do more I think all of us have been touched by post traumatic stress or traumatic brain injury whether we know it or not. I’ve worn the T-Shirts, hats and had the decal on the hood of my Jeep for years now. I’m asked often what the 22 means and I try to educate people along the way. But I want to do more. TNGA Scouting Ride, Dry Creek to Hwy 27, Pinhoti Trail
มุมมอง 219ปีที่แล้ว
Join me, Clint, Shannon and Jamie on our scouting trip of the Pinhoti Trail between Dry Creek and Hwy 27. This section is far less traveled and usually grown over with weeds and plenty of thorns to reach out a grab you. We came across the usual downed trees and mud pits, but overall not as bad as I have seen it in the past. This is just a taste of what the Trans North Georgia Adventure that tak...
Keep Calm, A Six Gaps Story… Six Gap Century, a solo self supported endurance ride

A collection of all the footage and commentary I filmed on my 6 Gaps training ride for the TNGA. Yes I rode 100 miles on the famous Six Gaps route on my full suspension mountain bike. It’s a great way to dive head first into training for a ultra endurance cycling ride. I did indeed ride all six gaps , Hog Pen Gap, Wolf Pen gap, Woody Gap, Neel Gap, Jack’s gap and last but not least Unicoi gap. ...

So You’re a Mountain Biker, is a 1 minute film I decided to put together after being inspired by watching many other 1 minute films. It baffles me why people buy these big gnarly bumpers, and stick them on a stock jeep. Maybe spend the money on the things that are needed most like a lift and tires. The bumper on that silver jeep is not gonna help those clearance issues.

    Oh good. You did not include my embarassing topple-over right about 50 feet before we crossed that creek at 6:52. I inow you caught that on your camera. It is amazing how a 48 pound bike which seemed not heavy at the start, suddenly weighs 30 pounds more after only 23 miles. I just could not lift my bike... or myself... up off the ground. I was just behind you a minute before that, so you just missed my over-the-handlebars somersalt when my front wheel hit a giant hidden hole on the rock strewn section at 6:40. Another rider ahead had warned others to walk that section; then when I did not see them, I figured they all rode it anyway... so I hopped on my bike. Twenty seconds later... CRASH! Overall, not a good start of the day for me - at all. Looks like this is going to take me multiple attempts.

      Hey man with the right training, planning you will be able to get this ride done. And my timing was terrible on that first crash when I was behind you I had just hit the stop button. I caught you mid crash and the footage cuts off. I can send you the footage I have of you if you would like. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer. I’m 2 for 5 on this route so I’m pretty knowledgeable in what not to do and fairly knowledgeable in what works at least for me. Thanks for watching and commenting. You can do it.

    Lol!!! Just finished the movie 🍿 the funniest most entertaining was a little over halfway through when your partner caught u off guard on the trail "u scared the fuck outta me" after that point all F-ks went out the window and TRUE Mark started filming from there lol the "sea-men" 😂😂🤣😭 that shit was hilarious "sorry for laughing" and the footage sitting alone in the church I thought was pretty Kool. Soaking in a little indoor time. The whole video was cool 😎🙏 frickin brutal bro. The part where u were thinking about quitting lol I'm sure u related to lots of ppl right there.

    This just confirms how behind schedule my TNGA training is. Only a month and a half left. You will do well if you can tackle that many Gaps in a day. I would say that was a very realistic race simulation. Unfortunately, I am struggling to get more than 3 hours of 'seat time' on my endurance rides. I am finding the endurance aspect tougher than the hills for whatever reason. My legs are just smoked after a few hours. No idea how I am going to do 8 to 10 hours a day, much less for 3 days in a row which was my goal.

    • @mtboverland
      @mtboverland ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve found that for me it’s all about riding my pace and not getting caught up in trying to keep up with other people. For me that’s zone 2 and about 60 rpm. It’s really just about can you stay fueled, take care of your body and mind.

Eventually my plan is to turn it into an overlander but first I’d love to get used to off-roading and run some of these simple trails.
