A can of gumbuster costs more than twice as much as a new carburetor for the Homelite and is extremely easy to replace, so what's the point?? on top of which the gaskets on the old carburetor are deteriorated and probably need replacing anyway..

Good idea! Even as a maintenance thing if they are affordable enough you can do it how ever many hours i would like to see the long term effects from someone who used it for a long time

Dude, I didn’t drain the gas out of my 621e the last couple of years and this year it would only run choked, so I replaced the carb and now it works no problem. An hour and following your video made it easy. Thank you!

They have to be kidding, you have to remove most of the snowblower to get to the carb. Oh yes, just reassemble and your done... I would just go buy a new one, or move to a place that does not get snow...

I have a Honda snow blower 520A. Did a dumb thing ...did not drain tank from last winter. Would not start. I put in a new plug. Same issue. Did some research and came across Gumbuster. I ordered and came with the wrong purge valve. Called support, they called me back within a couple hours and sent it out that same day! When part came, followed video instructions and it started with one pul. Probably because it is a starting fluid product. Anyway, I ran for 10 or so minutes, then let it set to make sure it would start cold 60 minutes later sitting outside. 1 pull start! ps. while not necessary it helps to have a 10mm deep socket.

Interesting process. Good idea for someone who lacks the skill or desire to learn how to do a complete carb clean. If a carb is competely plugged up with ethanol damage I doubt this would do anything.

Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

Many people call us with the question why their carburetors gumup even with the non-ethanol fuel. The answer is simple, the capillary effect keeps the droplets of fuel inside very small holes of the jets, primarily the emulsion tube. The fuel dries out inside the holes obstructing the fuel flow next time the engine is attempted to start. Pressurizing the inside of the carburetor with a PurgeGas is the only known method to remove all the droplets of the fuel leaving the carburetor in a like new condition and sure start next time.
