So if I burned my rectifier will that cause my stator to melt? And if I reverse battery connections on accident like I did to burn my rectifier out in the first place, do I have to replace my power pack too? I have a 1989 XR4 that seems to load up when it gets hot. Runs great when cold. I also have black sticky crud below my stator.
Tony - if you burned your rectifier most likely your stator went bad too. The best way is to check each components individually. likely would of been a great video..... but cannot see as your rectifier is to far off the left of the video!
