Salvation Worked Out: Philippians 2:12-18 (Sermon Audio)
Philippians is perhaps Paul's most personal letter. And one of the great themes is joy no matter the circumstances. Another great theme is that of unity and harmony. And unity in the church requires a humility before God and a humility with others. When we humble ourselves before God, we put ourselves under his authority, meaning that we will be obedient to his will.
In Philippians 2:12-18, Paul provides three ways that we are to exhibit this humble obedience to God's will. First, we are to be growing spiritually (vv. 12-13). Second, our attitude and actions should show that we are different from the world (vv. 14-16). Third, we are to be joyful no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in (vv. 17-18).
This sermon was preached on Sunday AM, September 15, 2024, at Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Quitman, LA.

New Person, New Mindset, New Way of Living: Ephesians 4:17-24 (Sermon Audio)
มุมมอง 6วันที่ผ่านมา
In Ephesians 4:17-24, Paul talks about the new life that we have in Jesus. He contrasts the world's way of living with the way of Christ. We are to be growing spiritually, and one of the biggest hindrances to spiritual growth is a fleshly mindset. Believers are not to live like the world; we are to live like Jesus. We are new persons, transformed for the age to come, and so we are to have a new...
What the World Has to Offer: 1 John 2:15-17 (Sermon Audio)
มุมมอง 3วันที่ผ่านมา
In 1 John 2:15-17, John tells us that we not to love the world. If we love the world, we pursue it and the things in it. Amd we can't pursue the world and God at the same time. The world tries to tempt us in three ways, appealing to the desires of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life. But the world and its things will not last; they are temporary. They won't bring satisfaction. True satis...
The Goodness of God and Prayer - Matthew 7:7-11 (Sermon Audio)
มุมมอง 1414 วันที่ผ่านมา
God is good. All the time. And all the time. God is good. God is indeed very good. And his goodness should inspire us in our prayers. God's goodness inspires us to go to him in prayer for all of our troubles and worries and anxieties, big and small. God's goodness inspires us to go to him boldly and confidently. God's goodness inspires us to go to him persistently. God's goodness inspires us to...
Faith and Prayer: The Lesson of Mark 9:14-29 (Sermon Audio)
มุมมอง 1021 วันที่ผ่านมา
The story found in Mark 9:14-29 (also found in Matthew and Mark) tells of the time when Jesus cast out a demon that the disciples were not able to. In Matthew, the issue is a lack of faith: with faith anything is possible. Luke gives the account to emphasize the power of God seen in the works of Jesus. Mark echoes Matthew's emphasis on faith but he also links it to faith: a disciple's life is m...
Faith to Endure: Hebrews 10:32-39 (Sermon Audio)
มุมมอง 721 วันที่ผ่านมา
This sermon looks at Hebrews 10:32-39, and the message that the author of Hebrews has for us is that believers are not to shrink back, but rather we are to live by faith. When the storms of life come upon us, when the enemy is attacking us, when we are persecuted and distressed, we are not to give in to fear, but move forward trusting in God’s promises. When life is going well, when things are ...
Jesus is THE Authority. Here's Why - Colossians 1:15-20 (Sermon Audio)

“Who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked that question of his disciples. He had just asked them who others said he was. A number of answers were given. Peter responds to this question with, “You are the Christ.” But how do you answer the question? Back in 2015 Barna did a study that revealed that only 56% of Americans believe that Jesus was God. 26% say he was just a religious leader like Muhamm...
God's Strength When You Need It - Isaiah 40:27-31 (Sermon Audio)
มุมมอง 24หลายเดือนก่อน
We've all had those times in our lives (or we will) when we wonder where God is at or why he allows us to go through the tough times we experience. It's easy in those times to feel abandoned by God. And it is exactly in those times that we need to receive strength from God. We need to know that he has not abandoned us, and he stands ready to help us. Isaiah 40:27-31 teaches us that when we feel...
The Pathway to God's Blessing: Deuteronomy 30:20 (Sermon Video)

We make choices everyday. Some are not important, and some decisions have very important consequences. What we choose is based upon our priorities. In today's passage, God gave the people of Israel a choice; life and blessing or death and cursing. God also gives us an ultimate choice: follow Jesus or do what we want to do. For those of us in Christ, we also have choices to make: are we going to...

Even though believers are God's children, we still experience troubles, sufferings, and doubts. This passage shows us three things about the Holy Spirit that gives us this hope. 1) The Spirit leads God's children. 2) The Spirit is the Spirit of adoption. 3) The Spirit ...

Prayer is an important part of the Christian life. We are told to pray without ceasing, to pray with sincerity. In Colossians 4:2-4, we are told that we are to devote our selves to prayer, keeping watch with thanksgiving. What does Paul mean when he says to be devoted to prayer? Why is keeping watch in prayer so important? What role does thanksgiving play in prayer? How can we be devoted to pra...

That is until about 7 years ago, which is when I realized what had happened and why I had been noticing very odd things in it! God's words will not pass away because they're written in His Children's hearts but all records of them have been changed supernaturally. Want proof? You better! @@ericcfutrell*God promised to send us a famine of hearing His word in the last days. Read Amos **8:11**. I knew farmers who had buried bibles and guns for when someone came to take the bibles away from us. That prophecy has already been perfectly fulfilled but it was done **_supernaturally!_** This is the separation of the WHEAT from the tares too, tares just argue and maybe quote verses about how God's word will never pass away which is true because His true Children hid them in their hearts and some are making videos to preserve what His words really are. WHEAT always immediately investigate this and begin helping to spread the news after they learn it's true. WHEAT can type in (proof of bible change residue junkie) and learn all about this and see all of the previously misinterpreted prophecies being fulfilled supernaturally and have their faith strengthened unimaginably! Tares can just keep arguing and hear Jesus explaining it at the Gate.* ❤✝️💪 th-cam.com/play/PLOTw4zBND_NPf66nKUONLoe2MNFLb5LQr.html *P.S.
