  • In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus talks about worry and how we as his followers are not supposed to let worry consume us. Worry, at its root, is essentially fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of what we can't control, fear of what might be or what might have been. As such, worry is a lack of trust in God. And the remedy to worry is faith. We need to trust that God loves us and cares for us. We need to trust that he is capable of providing for us. And we need to take our eyes off of those things that distract us and focus on him (his kingdom and his righteousness. When we do this, we are on the road to overcoming worry.
