You Don't Care For Me Enough To Cry - John Moreland
I came very close to not posting this…
It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s been a long time since I have posted anything here and I miss you all. I don’t have time to record much these days, so I will just deal with all of the mistakes since this will live on the internet forever! 😂
Anyway, this is my first upload of a cover. I was practicing it and decided I should record a video of it - because my roommate was out for a bit, and I actually had the whole day off!
Sorry for the airplane flying by at the start.
Also, my upstairs neighbor felt like moving some furniture while I was recording this, so there are some low bass rumbles scattered around if you listen with headphones…which you should…but hey, at least their dog quit barking!
This song was written and originally recorded by John Moreland in 2015.
I was not familiar with John Moreland when I started posting my original songs here 4 years ago. Someone mentioned in the comments of one of my original song videos that I reminded them of John, so I had to look up who he was; I am a fan now, and I take it as an enormous compliment and honor to be brought up in the same sentence as John.
John, if you ever see this - I love you, man.
My version is slower than his version linked below.
The version that John put out 6 months ago, which inspired me to do this cover:
th-cam.com/video/bobivwZSYNs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nrLIn7mw7PHBURuc
It's off of his studio album "High On Tulsa Heat".
This was recorded in my bedroom with my iPad on Sunday, October 6, 2024 with a crappy lapel mic. 🙂👍
I used my Yairi FYM66HD, because I love i.d

Por mucho que le pongas las mejores maderas a las Cort …el sonido americano que da la larrive y la martin no se igualan
It’s a different sound, and I think they all sound good. The Cort was just surprising because it sounded way better than what it cost at the time, but I am fairly sure they’ve gone up by a few hundred dollars since then. I still own the Larrivee, and ai love it…actually, I got another Larrivee, which hasn’t been shown yet here on my channel. I sold the Martin, and every other Martin I’ve owned. It is ridiculous how good a Cort Gold guitar sounds compared to a x3-4 folds pricier guitar. It sounds almost identical to me. The Cort Gold series sounds like some $1500 guitars

Gotta Say_ I really appreciate your spirit man, you are a gentleman a loving soul and a great musician. I have been interested in Cort guitars for some time now, but you really demonstrate and show them for the fine instruments they are, thank you. I am more interested now given "Your" Playing... I am a finger style player as well and they sound really wonderful with your playing. Just found you this morning and I will be subscribing. I wish you well my friend and Mahalo for sharing your great spirit and talent with us, you are an Artisan and I also appreciate your love for trees and wood. I have a few guitars myself, a Faith Blood Moon among them made from Trembesi in Indonesia, a very nice combo of sounds. Anyway be well, I'll be listening to more of your stuff, give ours a listen if you like, more of an Island Vibe. Aloha....
Wow, thank you very much! That’s so kind of you. I definitely appreciate the support! I always thought Cort got a bad reputation among guitarists, and wanted to share my experiences with them. I’m glad it can be useful for people like yourself. It’s been a minute since I’ve posted, but may have time to make some new videos this year. I’ll check out you stuff, too. The Faith Blood Moon sounds sweet. I used to have a Washburn parlor that had the back and sides made from Trembisi. I really enjoyed the sound, but sold it to get something else. Hope you have a great weekend! I’ll check your channel out after work later. Peace, my friend. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Hi Jack - I never have had a Parlor size, I currently have 5 Acoustic/Electric's now and I play them all.. Dreadnaughts to OOO28_EC and the Faith Neptune. I like the extra bass I guess. I think some of the Faith guitars are under estimated, some are beautiful, but the sound is not quite there on the Blue Moon, stunning to look but comes up short due to the wood tonal characteristics, IMO. Trembesi is a kind of a cross between Mahogany and Rosewood IMO the Venus model is just too small to get the best sound out of it, I think you need the larger Neptune. I use it when recording and it always comes out beautifully. I am now looking to trade out a Yamaha FGX 830 and most likely replace that with a Cort. Nothing against Yamaha I have another one and love it. The Cort was a very nice sound and very playable, the action was great, I should have bought it then. Oh well... Really enjoy your Travis picking and that double bass play you have, very, very cool little unique sound. Be well my friend... I'll be listening for your future stuff, thanks for your reply.
Hey man, I just got one of these yesterday, what's the action like on yours? Mine seems kinda crazy high, especially around the 12th fret on up. I was curious if this is just how these guitars come in or if move needs some setting up
Thanks for checking out my video, man. I did do a setup on mine when it came in. I also put .13’s on it and changed the bridge pins to metal ones. I got mine used, so I’m not sure if the original owner did anything to it before me, but I did do some work on it. I just took the saddle down a bit, and it was good for me. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic metal bridge pins? I did not know that they made those. I've seen Ebony and everything else for bridge pins, I would've never considered metal but that's a great idea! I've got an aluminum bridge on my player series Strat and it gives it a really cool tone. My Cort has a completely different top than any other that I've seen. It looks spalty. I was amazed at just how much higher end the guitar looks. If there wasn't a name on the headstock, it could almost pass for a Taylor I'm terms of grain depth, finish, binding luster...etc. I dig your playing and songs, very pretty stuff 🤘
My God Martin's sound good. I also love Gibson's. I've played both, including a 50's Gibson Johnny Black only a handful of times.
Hey Will! Thanks for watching and commenting! I do love the Martin sound, but I’ve since sold both of these instruments and bought a bench-made K. Yairi - the FYM66HD. It suits my playing style better than the Martins. That old Gibson must have been great to play! Hope you have a great Sunday! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶✌️
Hey Jack hope you’ve been well ! I was just hoping you’d have a song for us by now! I understand you were busy. But I’ve never given up on you and your prowess. Plus I just wanted to say hey also. Drop me a couple lines when you can peace ☮️ Dana E💫☮️✌🏻😆🙏🏻
Hey Dana! Nice to hear from you, dude. I’ve been working a lot, and haven’t had much time to play. It’s extra hard trying to do anything music related with two roommates and upstairs neighbors with four small dogs, but I’m slowly writing new stuff. 🙂 I don’t think I’ll post on TH-cam anymore. If I do anything with my songs, it’ll probably just be very intimate concerts in living rooms of local patrons. Although I don’t like what TH-cam has become, I do love the people that I’ve gotten to know through it, and I’m grateful you still think of me after all this time. I hope you’re well, and the family too. 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶✌️
Larrivee muito superior som bem mais aberto
I love my Larrivee guitars. They are the first ones I would grab in a fire! Haha! Thanks for watching! 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶✌️
Guitar sounds a bit outta tune on the low end and your vocals are a little off key in a few points but nice guitar tone. Curious to hear how your voice has developed 👍
Thanks for the feedback man! I appreciate you taking the time to listen. Peace. 🐰❤️🙏🎸🎶✌️
Listening to you is compelling... your trademark is unmistakable... loving the mood and how much heart you put in your rendition... we can only sit back and enjoy the pure emotion... a worthy original 🙏🌹
Thanks, Therese! I’m very grateful that even after all these years, you’re still enjoying the music. I really appreciate the kind words. It’s always great to hear from my music friends! I hope you are doing well! 🐰❤️🙏🌹🎸🎶✌️
Hi Jack, beautiful song is this.👏🏻🎶❤️
Hi, missmandel! Thank you so much for listening! I’m so glad you enjoyed this one! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶✌️
@@JackTheRabbitMusic is it standard tuning? Blessings from Deutschland.
@@missmandel8353 No, I tune all my guitars a half step down to Eb. Blessings from the U.S of A. 🙂
@@JackTheRabbitMusic Danke🙏🏼 and stay well, even when the world‘s like hell. Much to clean up over there- like here same! So, music helps a lot- to stay in peace and love! Love is the answer and a clean loving heart the way to peace.
Nice view on very nice guitars👏🏻 i got an 06 these month- i love. She‘s a little beauty and the sound is vintage as well. I got it for half price- could‘nt say no🙏🏼🎶🕊️
Half price?! Wow! That’s a great deal! The O6 is really sweet, and I’m glad you got one of your own! They surprised me when I first played them, and sound even better after all these years. It’ll only get sweeter in time. I hope you get years of enjoyment from it. thanks for checking out my video and for the comment! 🐰🙏❤️🎸🎶✌️
Cort has most of the sustain. I like the sound of it honestly. It is also much cheaper even if it is well made.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I still have the Cort and Larrivee; I sold the Martin, though! 🐰🙏🎸🎶✌️
wow the OC6 just has that ethereal feel to it! Can’t wait to have one! One question is, for you, isn’t it lacking in terms of low end specially when compared to the D or A models?
Hey man, thanks for checking out my channel. The O6 is awesome. I still have it after all these years, and it’s one of my favorite guitars to write songs with. If you’re comparing it to the others, then yes, it is “lacking” in bottom end…however, as far as any other OM shaped instruments I’ve played, this one definitely holds its own with more expensive instruments. I sold the D6, as I don’t really like big guitars. I still have the A8, and that’s the one I grab when performing live, since it has everything I need built in. If you play primarily fingerstyle, like I do, you won’t miss the extra bass. If you’re a heavy strummer, get something with a bigger body. I hope that helps! Peace. 🐰🎸🎶✌️
