@@DuterqueStudio it is a comment by definition. As this is an answer. Youbare very skilled. But if you just jump all over the place fast and its just a "do it" video , it's not a tutorial. I'll be happy to see you go in dept. Bye
@@mattheWT10992 There is a link on the short to the longer video
how to make text in the bottom area (on the other side of this video)?
On the edge you mean? Use the flow on surface like on the video
Thanks Duterque - Been a while since i've done this so the tutorial was a brilliant reminder :)
Glad it helped!
if this was me the boolean would fail
You need to make sure that you have close polysurfaces
Great tutorial! You explained every single action in the Material Graph really well to create the displacement effect. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi i really like your videos, Could you make a video related to footwear¿
Thanks, I might do one soon. Something like footwear soles?
The rhino file IAM working on is in cm, and I want the radious to be .1cm how can i make the radious cause there's limited numbers (1:10) in grasshopper
You have to double click on the slider, and then you you will be able to edit the range of your slider
Great video! thanks! is it also possible to export the layers with objects in rhino to collections with the same objects in blender?
Thanks, not directly but you can export each layer a 1obj (or mesh) and when you import it in blender it will be a single mesh that you can separate by loose part( p in edit mode -> by lose parts). The separated mesh will be in the same collection as the initial one. It’s not very straight forward but it works
Revelation! It's a very useful method.
Indeed it is!
Nice one my friend.
This is my approach to textures and labels in Rhino but man its a pain in the az sometimes 😂
My problem currently is my geometry looks blocky. My texture size if 1.5 in and I bring the triangle size down to 0.01in and nothing really changes. I am using a baked texture from blender using the open exr file. Is that a good file to use?
I don’t think the exr is the problem but maybe try with pnj. Also it can be the hight of your displacement maybe. When you say blocky you mean the texture displacement has some sort of steps?
@@DuterqueStudio sort of looks like the triangle size is too big. But also looks like the edges of the triangles are being smoothed over. So, it seems to look like low poly geometry with some smoothing which makes it more baffling to me what could be my problem. For context, I'm displacing a diamondplate pattern on aluminum material. Even one of the default Dimondplate key shot materials does this when I bring down the scale.
@@shawncrocker7037 can it be the scale of your object which is bigger when you imported it? Like one unit is 1meter instead of 1cm. And also is your object a closed mesh/polysurfce, if not keyshot my struggle understanding which direction the normal’s direction should be orientated
Also i have a question is it possible on a Sub D object i tried but seems theres no way had to convert my Sub D to surface am still new to GH but its a must learn thanks again.
You have to convert it into a surface with subD to nurbs, but you're likly to have a surface with lots of patchs, and this method of doing pattern only works on single surface. There are work around that but it really depends on the shape your trying to apply a pattern onto
Finally someone is doing good tutorials for Rhino, great video, you got a new sub
Thanks!
Great tutorial. I want to know how do I make the point staggered or hexagon formation instead of UV square
Thanks, yes was thinking of doing a video about it actually. A short answer is you can shift 1 row out of 2 by half the distance there is between points
That is awesome keep up the great works and thanks.
@@KRIZINKGRIN thanks!
does it export triangles or quads?
@@sidekick3rida a bit of both.
how can I reset the scale inside blender once imported obj
Ctrl A --> scale
@@DuterqueStudio thanks! Starting to learn blender this is very useful.
Didn't work... everything is exploded...
It could be that the welded is not toggle. Or that your polysurface is not join in rhino (sometimes it’s grouped and not joined)
4 years using rhino , and never use this before, Thankss
Glad it was helpfull 👍🏻
smart tip!
Thanks
what's the material for buttons is it subsurface
subsurface yes
Use command Copy/in place instead of Ctrl C + Ctrl V to save ram
Yes, great tip 👍🏻
this was very helpful. Thank you
How do you make that xyz arrows show when you select your object? To have that posiblities to move them by dragging ? I dint see that one in my rhino. 07:45 for example
You need to click on “gumball” at the bottom of the window to toggle it(if you are on windows), and and at the top if you’re on mac
Great tutorial, thank you for sharing
Thanks
Wow! excellent video. Please make more content of product animation in blender. Thank you!
Thanks, any specific typology of product?
@@DuterqueStudio It doesn't matter what type of product it is, but I am mainly interested in products with a more technological appearance. Even so, I am also interested in learning more about animation and lighting. thank you!.
I would have generated the 3d curves by crossing the extrusion of each bidimensional curve rather than adjusting each point. Maybe I'm wrong.
There are different ways to do, and I think yours would have probably worked too. The important is to find/use the workflow that allows you to achieve the result you are looking for
Adding the color invert and then changing the displacement to negative cancel each other out. You need one or the other in this case, not both.
Project does not work. Flow along surface does not work. Hey, here is a suggestion - specify what is special about the surface of the medallion that makes all this work !
I think you didn’t try hard enough…
@@DuterqueStudio Honestly, the software is a joke. A bloated mess - just like so many other applications.
How about starting with showing how to put the text on a fking box or similar, so that the text does not "fall though" to the bottom, regardless of how you try to create a surface or whatever... Rhino is a bloated fking joke. Or the people making tutoprials are fking retared, or why the f is there no fking tutorial showing how to put simple text on a simple surface - there are houndreds showing how to do it on a curved surface. A SIMPLE TEXT ON A SIMPLE BOX THAT YOU CREATED IN RHINO. But no.... When the simplest thing becomes impossible - then you know that you have bloated software in front of you.
What a joke...
Since it is Rhino (i.e. no logic and nothing makes sense, and every move is a trick question), I would like to know the properties of the 3D circle that you start with. Doing the exact same thing with a box will not work. So there is something very specific, some very specific properties that the 3D circle has that you have left out. You cannot simply make a 3D box or 3D circle an repeat the procedure. (That would make too much sense)
doing the exact same thing with a box will work, you probably missed a step
@@DuterqueStudio No , the text will fall through the surface if put on top of it. Rhino always places the text at the bottom. I wish you could arrange the order as layers, similar to photoshop. And projection gives the error message, - projection missed its target or similar. I did manage to project text on a curved surface following a clip on that - by creating a strip from the curved surface matching its length. Then turning that strip i to a surface. Put text on that surface, and project it back on to the curved surface. But I cannot create the same strip from an already flat surface with the same command. This software is bloated junk.
Volume too low, can't hear what you are saying.
Do you think modelling in rhino and rendering in blender is a good workflow or should i learn keyshot
Modelling in rhino and rendering in blender is a great workflow. However it still worth learning keyshot as lots of design studios use keyshot
@@DuterqueStudio thank you for the answer. Your tutorials are awesome btw
@@DuterqueStudiohi! I am a student and don’t have money for Keyshot at the moment. Could I substitute Keyshot with Blender for now?
@@whothewho82 Yes definitly, you'll be able to achieve the same level of render

Excellent , thank you :)
Great ❤
Do this again with jpg's with white backgrounds. It's not the same at all.
Thank you. Very helpfull but needs more volume. Next time listen to other videos then listen to your own. If I turn my speakers up to hear this propelry then the next video I watch is going to wake the entire house. TH-cam volume is flat out and windows volume is flat out.
Great tips as usual, thank you
i think the video's audio is a bit low compared to your other vids! but thank you so much for this tutorial!
this! if you''re putting any vid through editing software just slap on an audio compressor and check the levels
Thanks for the feedback, yes I added a denoise without cranking up the volume afterwards…
I think Rino is so good! Can you model the electric kickboard in detail?
