Thrill of the Fight Speedrun on Endurance
Here's my first speedrun on endurance in Thrill of the Fight.
This is running the Beta version, with drift protection on. See min 6:15 for my multipliers. They are set based on developer's guidance (reddit) for going normal effort against the sparring partner on normal.

In this video I share the settings I'm using to train better in Thrill of the Fight. The auto-adjustment for the mass multiplier really helps calibrate the game to work well - highly recommend using it. With that tuned for me, I'm finding 12 rounds with the Money Maker on Endurance is a great way to train and build muscle memory with more fluid combinations and setups.

I was smoking this guy, then some whack punch 10 counts me in the third. Don’t really know what I did wrong.
If you where hit with a hard shot you would not really get what happened or you feel like you feel like you got hit by a wall

Just an FYI regarding mass multiplier from the DEV: Hey, I'm the TotF dev. I think the best way to explain the manual multiplier is to first explain how the automatic adjustment works. The automatic adjustment monitors your swings and tries to determine the hardest swing you can throw. It then adjusts your multiplier so that your hardest swing lands for the hardest base force value the game is balanced around (and then weak point adjustments, etc, apply on top of that). It does this by literally just taking the base force number calculated for your swings and multiplies them by the multiplier number. This makes it so you don't need any particular level of strength to play the game (also some people just don't want to swing hard while being effectively blindfolded), and it's also sort of an automatic weight class adjuster to make the game balanced regardless of what weight class you'd be in in real life. It also means your light hits will be light and your hard hits will be hard with the full range of force in between - it's just that your range of force is being shifted up or down to keep things competitive. When you manually adjust, you can't make yourself hit any harder than that same top-end value the automatic adjustment system tries to line up your top-end swing with. As you increase your multiplier past what the automatic adjustment would have put you at, you're compressing your range of force at the top end. For example, if you set yourself to 5x, what you've done is made it so that nearly all your hits are going to be hitting for that maximum base force. This is going to make it really easy to stumble your opponent and get TKOs, but it won't help you much with KOs since they are achieved by doing a ton of damage in a single hit. On Normal mode, against an opponent you haven't worn down at all (and except for Duke and Moneymaker who are harder to hurt), you'll need about a 27% weak point bonus with your top-end hit to have much of a chance of keeping them down for the count. That's going to require a very well lined up shot to the side of their jaw to achieve. As you wear the opponent down over a few rounds, the damage needed to keep them down longer gets lower and the time they stay on the floor also gets higher. If you want to make it easier to KO the opponent, you'll need to lower their Chin/Toughness stat instead of increasing your multiplier. Similarly, increasing the Chin/Toughness or playing on one of the harder modes will make it nearly impossible to win by KO.

I noticed you don't throw many jabs and crosses. Is it easier to do damage with hooks and uppercuts in this game? I have a heck of a time getting my uppercuts to land.
Yeah, for me, I find the jabs pretty ineffective. A straight right with speed can be effective, but not my lead left.

When you throw your hooks, try doing the peekaboo style squat, switch feet 90 degree and come up with bad intentions, tyson style is perfect for this game, I've mainly played on easy/normal, but i started watching how tyson does combos, and now i play on outclassed with plenty of knockdowns, you have good body rotation though, keep up the good work man, and thanks for this video 😎🤙

I played this game and was gassed trying to dodge punches since blocking is so hard and you can't really feel the landed punches to the body or head. I know the corner turns red and white when you get hit but they need to give better feedback when you're hit to train you brain to react. They also need to let the user know that the punch was blocked otherwise I have no clue. You can block jabs and straight punches really well in the game but hooks and punches to the body I feel like the VR headset has no way to know you blocked with elbows or moved your gloves to the side of your temple
Couldn't they make the controllers buzz/vibrate, or even make the headset buzz, or make your vision go yellow/red/green for a second with the force of the blows?
@@fjccommish They do it with visuals like a momentary flash or screen going gray, but they could do better like narrowing your field of view to simulate your eye swelling or tunnel vision or do things like seeing blurry or seeing stars floating around your head which happens in real life when you get hit really hard in the head. Since you dont see most punches that land it's kinda useless. Idk... but a headset buzz would be a great idea since you can feel where the punch is coming from especially in a flurry or mass exchange of punches

Great vid, did you record the voice with a mic or vr headset? And how do you montage a vr vudeo like that? With your full body in game?
Use a camera feed of you in front of the greenscreen, and use an app like Liv (or the Mixed Reality Capture tool, if fixed) to get the headset to send a virtual third-person view to your computer. Use OBS to merge your camera feed of you in front of the greenscreen with the virtual feed. I used a mic on a wireless lavalier for the audio channel in the video of me.
With the game not registering your blocks and hits at times, I'd say 900 or something lower is better. It levels the game out. You're tiring yourself out for nothing and you could potentially start to develop bad habits just to win the match. Especially if you're trying to do 12x3.

idk what happened but the first time i fought this guy i beat him in like 30 seconds with a knockout, second time around was normal but he was oddly easy at first

Yep. Green screen and green foam tiles on the floor. I was using the oculus Mixed Reality Capture tool, but it stopped working and I don't think they made it a priority to fix. I got Liv working instead, but haven't been recording in some time.

Lag is going to be very difficult. Main thing for me is NOT to have any stamina bar mechanic. Entire point is to push yourself physically. That’s the entire appeal for me for TOTF1 . If it’s not broke don’t fix it

I was so proud that I was able to score a KO (not TKO) on Money Maker, The Duke, and the Artist on Outclassed yesterday. After losing to them many times, I decided to come back with a vengeance and focused more on body shots and hits to their temple, and in the later rounds, I was able to knock them down twice, from which, they didn’t get back up in time.
I’m guessing this got a huge update somewhat recently because the force adjustment settings are different and the wrapped wrists setting is MIA.
Received a power combo back in the day. Extremely unpleasant...
