    I've wanted to get a Rectifier seriously for about 25 years now! It's my favorite guitar tone of all time....however, every tech I've talked to warned me to never buy one. Poor circuitry layout, under rated capacitor values, nontransparent schematics & difficulty to service...all stopped me from buying one. I seriously don't understand why Mesa doesn't address these issues because I want to be a customer but not with these problems.

      For what it’s worth, it’s never once been in the shop and I’ve had this thing for over 20 years, including a huge chunk of time where I was less than careful with my gear (touring, recording, being a goofy kid). That said, I’m sure some of the Mark series or the Road King are a repair person’s worst nightmare though. If that worries you then I wouldn’t be afraid to go the Kemper/AxeFX route. I’ve heard some incredible models that more than pass the test. I can’t imagine not using the recto tone somewhere in most of the music I make. Thank you for watching and being here!

    I have all compact dd pedals but 2 and 8. I have 2 dd-5's. Dd 5 and the dd 6 are my favorites for different reasons followed by the 3. The 5 just sounds different. One of mine is as beat up as yours, and the other looks brand new. For a bit i used a boss line switcher to make weird guitar parts switching between 2 dd 5 pedals with different times set so i could on the fly make weird patters back and forth delay times on the fly

    Is it better than the AER Colouriser D.I. preamp?

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I haven’t used the AER personally. I’ve never really put it in the same camp due to price and honestly, it running off of a power supply and not phantom power is a dealbreaker for me. It also looks prone to breaking with that type of case and those cheaper exposed knobs. That said, I’m sure it’s cool (Tommy Emmanuel uses one so it can’t be that bad right?) and it certainly won’t make anything sound worse! If I ever get my hands on one, I’ll put it up against the LR Baggs. Thank you for being here and watching!!

    • @A.I.-fu5kz
      @A.I.-fu5kz 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BradDollar First, thank you for your kind answer. I have both. And man, I can assure you the AER body is, even though made from aluminium, it is almost bullet proof. Nos cratches or any sign of usage after 5 years! The knobs are solid as solid can be, everything is high end, but what else would you expect for almost 700 bucks? While the Baggs provide 48V phantom, the AER provides 24V phantom to condenser mics but it doesn´t operate on phantom power, as you well remarked. I power it with a 24V power bank (meant for laptops) and it works just fine for about 50 hours. The main difference though, is the approach to tone shaping, the Baggs has a much easier straight forward way to adjust low, mid and high EQ levels while it also lets you adjust the notch per string (A, D, G, B). The Baggs also has an FX Loop balanced in/output for external FX´s devices or pedals connected via a splitter, which can be great for those who want to add that external FX before it is amplified and EQ is added by the Baggs. The AER doesn't have an FX Loop balanced bin/output and then a big difference is that for EQ adjustments on an AER Colouriser you first chose an EQ bandwidth and only then adjust the amount of increase or decrease. So it's literally just 1 EQ level setting. The Biggs has 3. My experience is the Baggs is easier to re-adjust quickly during a concert and being powered by external phantom is a huge plus. I am very interested though in hearing your opinion if maybe you get the chance to test one and compare. Thank you.

    I was inspired to record and make a YT post after hearing Hi Ren. It's been more than a year now and nothing else. So much to learn, and re-learn with the MPC and Ableton and gets so frustrating when you can't get tech to work because of some setting that is not right. Never give up and don't let the machine win are two of my favorite sayings. I've been listening to Rick Rubin's The Creative Act and really enjoy tapping into the ether and letting the music flow.

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love this! Seriously, this part all day. Being inspired is easy, seeing ideas to completion is much harder, but it's definitely a muscle you can make stronger! Whenever things get tough, I always think about how much harder our predecessors had it and what they were able to accomplish. I mean, even just the idea of syncing up two 24 track tape machines gives me bubble guts. You're going to be pumped when you get everything to lock in. Super great to have you here as always! Stoked you're on this path too.

    Is there a way to separate multiple vocal tracks? Like if two people are singing together, harmonizing or speaking, that would make it so you'd have the individual tracks for their specific vocals?

    How many db's of gain reduction do you aim for on the multiband comp, or the next comp would it be -0.5 or 1db after your intial compression

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! I'm just going for little bits, so 1dB usually does it for me. If I'm doing more, and it's not getting any better, then I'll go back into the source tracks and work on them more individually. Thank you for being here and watching!

    is this mixing or mastering?

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely mixing but this way you’re setup for those times when you do need to faux-master something to check levels. The idea here is all about creating a master buss sonic thumbprint, just like if you were to mix something on an analog desk on the real world. And you can always bypass anything in the chain if you don’t want it or it doesn’t work. Thank you for watching!

    How can I remove dog bark sound from vocal in UVR ?

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! I think your best bet might be something like Izotope RX. You can split files apart with UVR, but it's really hard to take individual elements out of the stems that have already been separated. There are a few free models they have in their download center that might work though (VR Architecture Single Model or MDX MDX23c). It's free so it might be worth a shot. Hope this helps! And thank you a ton for watching!

      @ags5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for reply fast, I tried both model now and yes it's not remove barking part from already separated vocal

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah dang! I’ll see if there another model on here. Give iZotope RX10 a shot. You should be able to do it with the free demo. I haven’t gotten rid of dog barks before but I have removed things like piano pedals squeaking and background talking. www.izotope.com/en/products/downloads.html

      @ags5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ok, Let me try with this also. I tried with audo ai web site. They are giving demo example also before and after for dog barking. but not worked with my uploaded audio.

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea give RX10 a shot. That'll give you the most control anyways.

    can you do stem separation with this?

    • @BradDollar
      @BradDollar หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! You sure can. There's an MDX model in their download center called KuieLab. That you can run on your track to get vocals, drums, bass and guitars/keys. Totally free as well! Thank you so much for watching and being here! Hope this helps.

      Were you able to do it with one click? My first tool was StemPlayer but since the crack does not work, I have tried to use one of the songs I have splitted with StemPlayer on Spleeter, AudioLab Spleeter and I have found some faults on them. The seperation quality is not like Stem Player. UVR is a great program but still can not find to seperate them with one click.

      @@tromick results were abit mixed so I ended up scratching it. But the mix was very busy and the sax and piano have similar transients

    This is such a great review. Love how you show us your background and experience and how after using all types of speakers over the years you come back to something that is the root of great music making - just having fun. Bought a pair of the 02 Footprints a few days ago thanks to this video and you're right - they are super fun to listen to. Looking forward to making music with them.
