Marines BLOODY Fight For Survival in the Vietnam War
Marine Lance Corporal Kevin Cahill looked upon an ominous trail ahead of him, with a mission to locate and eliminate North Vietnamese forces known to be in the remote Hai Lang Forest of South Vietnam. Cahill was an experienced Marine, and as point man, knew taking a well-worn trail was a bad idea, but orders were orders, so he cautiously stepped onto the trail.
Following Cahill were 166 Marines of Charlie Company, of the First Marine Division. Little did they know, they were walking straight into a deadly trap that would cost many their life. As Cahill proceeded along the trail on top of a small knoll, a blast of machine gun fire poured into Charlie Company’s column. A devastating ambush of small-arms, grenade, and rocket fire from the NVA had found the Marines.
The Marines search and destroy mission quickly turned into a desperate fight for survival as over 2,000 NVA soldiers surrounded them. Charlie Company was now on the brink of annihilation…

The Marines BLOODIEST 77 Days of the Vietnam War
มุมมอง 17K19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
It was supposed to be a display of the American determination to win the war in Vietnam. Instead, it became one of the conflict's most disputed military operations. More than two grueling months of the siege of Khe Sanh Combat Base would change the way Americans back home see the war and hastened the end of the war. For the Marines, though, Khe San was a monument to their resilience in a battle...
America's DEADLIEST Warriors in WWII

Few chapters in human history are as horrifying as the story of World War Two. It was the largest conflict the world had ever seen with the death of over 75 million people in six years. However, World War Two includes countless stories of the courage and sacrifice from free men who resisted evil and tyranny. Many of them went even beyond the call of duty, for which the United States repaid them...

As a misty rain fell on the morning of January 28, 1966, the drone of a hundred helicopters, carrying soldiers into the southern end of the Bong Son Plain, pierced the silent gray skies. This movement was the opening for Operation Masher, a determined effort to eliminate the enemy presence in the fertile An Lao Valley. As the first helicopters neared their objectives, the enemy let loose automa...

The DEADLY and Hidden Chapter of the Vietnam War
มุมมอง 106K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
It was the summer of 1970, just one year after the United States began withdrawing its troops from Vietnam, signaling the war was nearing its end. Yet, for the many soldiers scattered across South Vietnam, the horrors of war were still painfully real. Men of the 101st Airborne Division were sent to a remote region of A Shau Valley given its key tactical importance to the North Vietnamese. The A...

Men of the 22 Infantry Regiment, half frozen and exhausted by days of relentless fighting, were waiting for the new order to march into death. My grandpa has/had a few high school classmates that went to Vietnam. One of them told us that one of the other men wasn’t ever the same and had taken his life. I’ve always wanted to ask his friend about it, but I don’t want to bring up any bad memories or trigger any PTSD. Thank God my grandpa was able to not go to Vietnam because he had just gotten married then had a kid. I don’t think he’d recover from something like that. I can’t begin to imagine the horrors those young men and women went through. So with all my heart I say thank you to those who served. You have my eternal respect

I remember crawling around on a PBR that the Navy scuttled on the bay side of the Silver Strand off San Diego. There was a ton of PT boat, landing craft all partially submerged. It was fun playing on those boats. This was back in the 70s and 80s. I remember SEALs were training there with explosives doing under water demo or something. We got asked to leave and they blocked off the entrance with other Navy boats kind of like a PBR. Maybe SWIC?

Please check out these FACTS that are on the Web: "In 250 years of existence as a nation, the US has fought against 29 sovereign countries. (In Fact, since 1785, we have been involved, for 231 years, in some kind of war. And this wars, against all varieties of nations. From going against the Sultan of Morocco, to invading the tiny island of Grenada, 1983. Well, this means that in our entire history, we have only had 17 years of peace, and even fewer, cuz here the almost 5 years of our Civil War (Union/Confed 1861‒1865), are Not counted, since this war was not with another country, but against us. And the wars against the Native Nations of America either are not counted, for the same reason). Anyway: We fought against 29 countries. We have "Grown" 711 the size of our territory from the original 13 colonies. Our Economic, Political and Military development was established thanks to the Piracy, the Slavery, to the Looting, the Massacres, the Opium Trade or Cocaine Traffic, the indiscriminate sale of weapons on a global scale, and, the Weakness of many abused sovereign nations. We have provoked with total impunity, 12 Genocides and 9 Massacres, ‒inside and outside our own borders‒, and Assassinations of Gov’t. Leaders, Coups d'État and Economic Blockades in 6 UN member nations. Between 1947 and 1989, the US tried to change other nations gov’ts 73 times. It includes 66 covert Ops. And 7 overt ones. Who authorizes us to violate all International Laws and enter any country to ABUSE them? What's so "Proud" about being a nation of Looters and Criminals?

What? Did the US lose the war against Nam? OMG! Against a poor country, undeveloped, malnourished, without Navy, without Air Force, NO Marines, Green Berets, SEALs, Rangers, Delta Force, USMC, Rambos nor Chuck Norris. Defeated by a country of peasants without strategic plans, no B-59 Bombers, no PT-Boats, no Northrop F-5 "Freedom Fighter", nor Atomic Submarines. Without Aircraft Carriers, NO Continental Missiles, nor Tanks, Choppters, AR-15, Gatlin Machines’, Flamethrowers, Napalm, Agent Orange. NADA! And to top it off, defeated by an army of teenagers who had no shoes: WITHOUT SHOES!!! Army that fought with bamboo sticks!!! Charlie Kicked Our Asses and even invaded our Embassy. Jeezzz!!! Here is the Duty, Courage and Chanting of Heroism of the US Army. This is the True Story of our Country. This is the History that is already written in the US Books. And the History that was written in Afghanistan is made with the same ink.

The PBRs and Mobile Riverine Force got all the glory in the Vietnam war, but there were other US Navy units that filled critical roles during the war. The Markettime Coastal patrol units were instrumental in interdicting supplies being transported from North Vietnam to the south and and the Stable Door Harbor Defense units protected US shipping in the ports of South Vietnam.

... well, now we know that it's not about communism that was the main issue with the Vietnamese: All that their patriotic leaders and citizens simply wanted is a united Vietnam!!!

Westmoreland could have, in fact, I'm positive any, leader of war, could have defeated the North had there been no restrictions on the west, or guidelines that had to be obeyed. If Westy would been given permission in 65 to invade above the dmz, and not entertaining the Soviets or Chinese entering to defend.

Include DMacArthur's str😅ategy too during the Korean War ... and what would then be the global cost? The USSR by that time already had an atomic bomb (or more) - thanks or no thanks to a USA traitor citizen 😢
