With kislev I've had a lot of success with a simple __ /*\ __ formation. Where the __ is ice guard, streltsi or kossars and the /\ are armoured kossars. For large Armies, you can make things like. _ /*\ _ ^_^ _ /*\ _ Where the ^^ is artillery and * is heroes.

Got any ideas for what i should do with my Skryre formation? I usually got a warlock engineer, 4 jezzails, 4 ratlings, 2 plagueclaw catapults, 6 skavenslaves, and 3 rat ogres. Cant seem to make good use of it

I see a lot of people commenting on disabling "control large armies" option, but honestly, this option shouldn't even be in game in the first place. It's just a crutch for people with poor PC's and should only be used for that purpose. It trivializes the battles, you otherwise had no chance winning.

Full cavs roster. Hammer & Hammer tactic.

One epic last stand I was ambushed by the skaven with reinforcements. The artillery died quickly but Inwas able to pull cavalry and pistoliers into space. Some scrambled fighting later and I somehow managed to set up a firing squad at one end of the valley and could use the cav and captain to make sure the reinforcements funnelled right into it. It was glorious.

Fight some one with more Leadership. This is a bad example because your vampire lord probably could have killed that army by himself with wind of death. just hide your cav, let them blob and cast. Then mop up with the cav. Not to mention they could not use winds of magic, which is a huge problem, if they had a life wizard healing that lord you would have lost or a death wizard negating your healing.

Men At Arms, basically peasants are just overall weak and low morale so it's already a won battle with much superior units, despite being outnumbered. All you really did was just a rear charge attack into a blob of extremely weak and poor morale units with a charging, large unit that are of high quality. A true hammer and anvil technique is a rear attack with multiple flanking units where the blob of enemies are now nearly or fully attacked on all sides. Would have liked to see hammer and anvil technique in a full battle with quality units on both sides...

What seemingly hopeless battles have you ended up winning? What armies were involved and how did you pull off your epic victory?

When utilizing this tactic be sure that the anvil is sturdy to absorb the charge. For your mom's bed was not.

I find it quite fitting the addition of the zweihanders to the formation, as it still keeps with the theming. Indeed, zweihanders were developed to help counter enemy pike formations at the same time the Tercio formation was at it's height.

I'm not quite done with the Prologue yet, but I hadn't even thought about the fact that of course rifles don't shoot their missiles in an arc like archers do xD I appreciate the many little ways in which the game(s) choose to make things work logically/believably; there's a level of depth to combat I hadn't expected. Interesting video. I'll have to give these formations a try.

Can you please try the eastern steps strategy of retreat and hit. I have been using it quite a lot, retreat the center into ranged units and advance heavy flanks that also retreat eventually to pull units out of formation.

Inknow this video is old however if you make room for crossbow men or archers hell even the cavalry with grenade launchers you could put them in the square so even when you do get surrounded you could still have some range support

I can play one round and just dominate as assault class. Then play another round with the same set up and have my ass handed to me. I got caught is a barrage of barbed vines, whip tyranids and spore mines. Guy picked me up for me to only make in maybe 10 feet before getting beat down again. I hate barbed vines and struggle with timing to parry whip tyranids.

None of thoses tactics works against nurgle

No wonder I’ve been getting chunked health more, they took away what little I-frame you had with gun strikes. Gun strikes should have i-frames only because it forces you into an animation and you get extra headshot damage making so you can kill things quicker rather than swinging around a wet noodle of a melee weapon with 9 perks. Gun strikes are key in this game just like parrying and dodging.

It's point number 2 I disagree with. Them moment you start retreating is when you're gonna die, if you're in trouble you need to be getting those executions and gun strikes to get your contested health and armour back. Maybe in some specific situations, like a nerothrope in a hallway it might help but usually it will get you killed. plus, if I can knit pick, whoever is using the power sword in the clips isn't using it the most efficient way which does foreshadow point number 10 about knowing your weapons

I sucked because I honestly didn't figure out how to get all the perk points on weapons until yesterday. Been a level 25 heavy with only 3 perk points on my weapons this whole time. 😂 It's been smooth since completed a few lethals yesterday

I dont suck there's just nothing i can do on lethal when i get a constant stream of neuronthropes and zoanthropes while not getting any ammo.

ive found it helps to have a black templar on the team. those mfs crazy

#1 is a skill issue. If you have to rely on other people's executables, even on Lethal, then just git guder instead. I'm here for the fun of the viscerality, not worrying about other people's failings. Not that it has ever been an issue in this game for me or anyone I've seen. Stims are different story though, that's not combat. On the occasion I might feel charitable by handing a free execution if I'm seemingly hogging all of them, though still not out of need. Arguably, it might be a decent idea to keep the healthy guys healthy and geared up with stims if they look like they can handle having only two people alive even in a tight spot, while letting the weak guy die and clear their mortal wound on respawn. "Tactical casualty" if you will. Or, you could just have a level 25 Bulwark and keep everyone healthy on a regular basis. Too many times a team can get one-guy'd by a stim-sponge who just keeps getting hurt and needing everyone's stims all the time, while not really increasing the survivability of the team. Even good players might be hard-pressed to survive if they are not allowed a single stim because of the said stim-sponge guy, especially if something unlucky happens like a spore mine ambush out of nowhere. That one stimpack can heal a lot more when used immediately upon taking massive damage, rather than keeping that one hopeless guy alive (and still failing).

These are all good. Unfortunatley pug's rarely adhere to even a single one of these. Also, how does practically 90% of the population not have a mic?

You forgot the most important tip: There are no melee or ranged classes. Just classes that are more or less specialized in one or the other direction. Learn how to melee, regardless of what class you are playing as. Just because you're a sniper or a tactical or a vanguard or a heavy doesn't mean you should ignore melee. It's logical to not jump into melee like a assault or bulwark would. But that doesn't mean you should not take the time to master the melee system. If you're being swarmed, stop trying to gun them down with your bolter. You will not succeed. Switch to melee, create space. It's something I see far too often, there is no long weapon switching animation. The enemy gets too close? you melee. It's that simple.

They need to show teammates armor on the UI, would make things easier

Good video. Question though. Why pick the plasma pistol over the bolt pistol? I understand interrupting those calling for reinforcements. The bolt pistol does more damage with head shots though as far as I can tell. Granted this may be anecdotal, but it seems to me that the selling point of the bolt pistol was carried over from the first space marine game where head shots = death. Against Majoris enemies, it takes more shots, but it's still far more efficient than burning through your plasma pistol ammo by using charge attacks.

Technically every game like this is all about adaptability. You either find a way or die. And as a matter of fact I tried to play souls and some other games after SM2 and noticed that after hundreds of tyranids managing 3-5 enemies is a joke😁

Nice battle, reminds me to my favourite tactic from playing total Warhammer campaign I would hide my gunners and mortars in the forest, with gunners protecting the mortars, while cavalry with pistols would ride out to enemy, and draw them right into shooting range for mortars This way even stronger enemy would be quickly beaten up and defeated by a small force of few gunners, mortars and cavalry I even managed to defeated this way a way bigger army with steam tank once
