But dont think employee things will not work for gig jobs… there should be some jobs should be for part time as a second gig or whenever you want…. I hate the idea of slots or doing it at a certain times…. I would rather do it for 1 weekend and not do it for 6 months then rinse and repeat… But age care worker should be changed tho…

I feel like uber eats have increased pay, feels like 20% increase from before for normal orders and for 50% for coles orders.

I'd like to share my experience. @chrisbooy I did UberEats for about 1.5yrs, 3yrs ago when the pay was really good and really worth it in Melbourne. Towards the middle to the end of that period, I've noticed that the more times you finish the "quests", the harder next wk's same quest becomes and the less they paid you for the bonus. For example, if I completed a 40 trips quest from Mon-Thurs which is very doable, I used to get $120 bonus for that. Come the wk after and the quest either becomes harder (more trips for same $120) OR they pay less (40 trips for $80) bonus OR both (60 trips for $80). This is just ONE of the MYRIAD of reasons I stopped after the 1.5yrs as the pay just wasn't worth it anymore + rising fuel costs. I've also noticed the 12 trip quests common from Fri-Sun 5-9pm disappearing and/or paying less and less bonus every time. At the end of the day, UberEats gives NO SHIT about its drivers as it is a business. Businesses like these operate to earn profit while getting away with paying the driver who make their business possible as minimal as possible. It is a very "bait-y" and predatory business. Yet, the drivers can't sue them for it as we're all "independent traders" even though we're relying on the pathetic app to give them the profits. Oh, did I also mention how pathetic their customer support is when you want to make a complaint about toxic customers who verbally abuse you? Every time I would raise an issue about a customer, they would always say same the SAME BULLSHIT over and over it by saying "Sorry about your experience, we'll "ESCALATE" (favourite word of theirs) to a higher authority and tell you what our next steps are". 'Til this day, I've not gotten one satisfactory outcome for what they ACTUALLY did with the customer and if you think about it, since they don't give a toss about the drivers, do you think Uber would ban or block a customer from ordering on UberEats? Absolutely not!! Less customers = less profits so why the hell would they do that? To all those considering doing UberEats, DON'T DO IT if you can avoid it as it's best days 3yrs ago are now loooooooooooooong gone.

If you want tips go to the USA or find a glory hole. Tipping is un-Australia it's just un-Australian 😂

This whole tipping culture is one of the things that turns me off going to America. They care about it so much and idk if id be able to be polite to someone if i got abused verbally or had someone do something stupid to me just because i dont tip. Like fuck that.

random question mate, I work for my rents and have a fuel card thru the company, would I be able to claim the fuel on tax with receipts form a fuel card?

Delivery apps are so expensive here in Australia, I’m not sure if it’s similar in other countries. It can be almost double the price of going to get the food yourself. Tipping will send us bankrupt. I sometimes order priority delivery as my “tip” but I’m 99% sure the delivery driver sees none of that.

Australians do tend to tip when good service is given. I do both rideshare and doordash. I find on weekends, providing good service and being slightly charismatic will give me a 20-25% tip rate on uberX/ comfort. On door dash its about 3-5%. Imo its the lack of human connection, as 95% of orders are leave at door on food delivery. Where as rideshare theres much more of a connection and service matters more in my experience.

It'd be nice if we American drivers didn't have to rely on tips so much!!
