uv and glow in the dark. there are no ink that’s hold a charge

i’m curious, have you noticed it ever reoccur in people? say, if you’ve had this happen, are you generally more prone? (for those that didn’t have the mentioned specific circumstances like menopause, fat change, chemo, etc)

I had yellow and red ink drift, my only experience, one tattoo on my neck but its covered now

Dude I've been tattooing for 15 years, hundreds of tattoos a year, Id never seen this before and then boom, happens to 2 people last year. 2 on the same person and one on another. Both female. I was having a mental crisis like "what the hell is wrong with me, am I getting old??" For science, both people were: female, fair skinned, mid 20s.

I just want to say thank you so much for making this video. I am a huge fan for tattoos, and I have always wanted to know what makes different styles differently. This video is the MOST useful video I found online out of hundreds of videos out there.

loved the vid until u started talking bout micro tattoos. it just sounds like ur parroting what u heard from other artists ur age rather than doing ur own research. if u did u would see there are lots of healed micro realism photos and many skilled artists to pull it off. there may be people faking it, but im sure there r lots of people are faking all other styles too.

Just came across this video through a subreddit post! I have a yellow ink drift on an inner arm tattoo I got about 6 years ago. The ink drift was within a day after getting the tattoo, and it's about two inches away from where the tattoo is. Never knew what caused it, so thank you for this informative video!

I fully understand being wierded out by a tattoo artist that has no tattoos. They kinda feel like marriage counsellors who've never been married. There's a level of understanding that you honestly just can't have without experiencing something yourself. However, that has just about NO bearing whatsoever on a tattoo artist's SKILL, or their ability to give you a good tattoo. You wouldn't turn down a surgeon just because they've never been operated on. Personal experience is far less reliable than the collected experiences of several individuals (i.e. clients). Every career is 'exploited' by the people who have said career. I could go on about pretty much every point in this video; none of them are convincing. There's just no objetive reason to not like or to mistrust 'no-tattoo tattoo artists'. Honestly all you had to say was "tattoo artists without tattoos are just kinda odd, and they're probably cowards, so I wouldn't get a tattoo from one" and I'd have agreed with you.

What a ridiculous "culture". If you have to have tattoos to be respected by tattoo peers, then you maybe don't want their respect. This gatekeeping behavior is so childish and immature. People from all sorts of life backgrounds might want a tattoo or become tattoo artists. Pretending like its one thing for one kind of people is pretty disgusting. As far as a tattoo-less artist, there is so many things which a person can be passionate about when it comes to tattooing, from the appreciation of art and design, continually improving and mastering a skill, working with people, using their hard earned skill in a professional setting, autonomy, building relationship with clients and making people happy etc... Saying that they're somehow less passionate or hacks is simply ridiculous. And this denigration of people with different backgrounds such as fine arts and other by classifying them as failures in their field for wanting to do tattoos as if though there can't be any possible reason why they might want to do that is so primitive and tribal. Pure example of creating separation between "us" and "them" as a way of group dismissal without the need to evaluate individuals. Childish and cowardly.

It’s reaffirming to hear these points. These did play a role in choosing who is doing my next tat. I’m now looking forward to the appointment on Saturday as opposed to the doubtful feelings I experienced talking to some other talented qualified artists before.

Beeing watching videos and reading about 'Tattoo styles' and this video nails it; clean, informative, nice samples. Well done. I could bitch a little about a couple of styles left out and about the use of 'abstract' but, in general, this is well done, thanks for the broad and clear view on the vast and complex world of tatttoo styles. 👍👍

I agree with u, but I have a friend who had a passion for drawing , she did all kinda type of art and one day someone recommended her to be a tattoo artist. She knew nothing about tattooing so she decided to tattoo on her self, she doesn't have a sleeve or anything but she did alot experiment on her legs. It was painfull and hard tattooing your self and she end up working as apprentice but she haven't gotten any other tattoo except for tge ones she did on her legs. Now my question is, would my friend be considered qualified to be a tattoo artist ? She not one to get a sleeve or anything but she did switched work so ahe can have a better job where she can make money doing what she love drawing + now tattooing. Mindn u as an apprentice, she made shit but she suck it up and really wanted the job.

Mine might be an unpopular opinion and maybe a little too critical, but even tho you clearly said big truths on getting into the tattoo industry, I didn't like the way you spoke at all. The way you explained made me think you are a old-minded person with a closed view on certain things. I totally understand it might be hard seeing all those wanting to become tattoo artists just because and not fully committing to the cause, but if it were me, coming at yours to ask for an apprentship and hearing you talk like that, i would exit shop immediately. I'm sorry, some of the things you say is absolutely correct, but I could never be able to work with you because at first glance I couldn't like you a single bit. Not knowing you I cannot judge who you are, but I'm not gonna support bossing around like that, even tho I might be a total novice.

Interesting on tribals. The first tribal I ever saw was in 1989 on Max Cavalera of Sepultura. Before that, I didn’t see them anywhere. Started seeing tribal tattoos a lot in the mid 1990s. I’m sure anyone close to my age remembers a time in the late 1990s when it seemed like everyone and their mother had one of those cookie cutter tribal tattoos

On the topic of „cultural appropriation“: In my opinion, when you - as you recommended - find someone with knowledge of and respect for something, it is not cultural appropriation, it’s cultural appreciation. Sadly there are many who don’t get that. And as someone who tries to look for cultural appreciation wherever I go (music-blends, traditions, …) I am really happy to see you putting such an emphasis on it as well!

I've just found your Chanel dude .. even giving advice on how to keep up the stamina to sit a day session, I've learned by being tattooed by someone who dry wipes and or with a lot of pressure, further traumatised my skin and reduces my tolerance to sit longer so I'm super aware of doing it to others. My body is full of old injuries and I have shitty spine (as we all do) but it helps to be aware of clients injuries so you can position them without agrivating a shoulder, hip or so on. Having insight as to how their life style may effect their healing and being able to give advice accordingly... all the things. I was a very heavily tattooed nurse before I started tattooing. I think both have helped. I really hope you continue to make videos. I couldn't help but chuckle away, I'm sure you've made some ❄️ s cry with your honesty. Thank you for your effort and insight! If you really want a caveman fix, your best bet would be either download all the videos or screen record them and hope the video quality is okay. Hope everything works out

A " hood apprenticeship" is definitely the way to go just make sure you are CLEAN, get some ink test it out on yourself, don't use any ink from your " beginner tattoo kit" and don't share needles, after that find some of your degenerate friends and get to blasting, im not saying go full throttle and do a sleeve first time tat but do some party tat practice and eventually you'll have some passable lines without any blow outs 🙂
