Chatty Walks with Angela
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 ส.ค. 2013
Welcome to Chatty Walks, with me - Angela. Join me for first-person narrated walks in London and beyond. You get a bit of information about where we are walking, some snippets of history, I check out some prices of food and stuff, and share a little knowledge with you as I explore. Sometimes I get completely lost too...;) I don't take it too seriously, aiming to have some fun and be informative when I can. If you share my passion for walking and travel, then I hope you love my videos. Enjoy these trips from your armchair or the treadmill or while reminiscing over good times as a walker or traveller; perhaps you're an independent adventurer looking to explore and make plans around what London and beyond has to offer. Treat me as your own personal walking guide - Angela x
Wimbledon tennis walk 2024: Southfields to the Championships ground SW19, Wimbledon Village & trains
The Wimbledon Tennis Championships, usually just called Wimbledon, are the oldest in the world. This walk takes you from Southfields tube station, to the starting point of the famous Wimbledon queue for tickets, and onwards to the Wimbledon tennis grounds, for a sneak peek as Wimbledon prepares for Wimbledon fortnight. From the Wimbledon grounds, we continue to Wimbledon village and then down the hill to Wimbledon train station. On the way, I give you plenty of information about joining the public queue for Wimbledon tickets and some facts about the Wimbledon tennis over the years. Plus a bit of history. Enjoy the strawberries and cream whether you are there in person, or sitting as an armchair expert watching the tennis on the TV at home.

Hey , Hello TH-cam Star- I have watched all your videos. Your videos are very nice but there is some problem with your channel. If you solve your channel problems, you will get many Subscriber views on your channel. Have a Good Day
Hey , Hello TH-cam Star- I have watched all your videos. Your videos are very nice but there is some problem with your channel. I learnt to swim in sea at sandbanks my grandad tought me in 1970's❤❤
Your videos are not SEO-friendly. you must do video SEO to get good results. SEO increases views, If you can increase the views, you will be able to advance your channel a lot. What is the benefit of making a video so hard? If views, likes, and subscribers are not? So I say, first organize the channel nicely, SEO the videos, and then release the videos, then you will get good results. This will benefit you a lot, you will be able to improve your channel with very little cost
Since this video has been shown a lot has changed in new Malden mainly all the high street banks have shut .
World's End is written across the clock after the World's End Estate which was built from 1967. Where is this name World's End came from is unclear.
Looking forward to your comeback ❤
Hi Angela. I love your vids around London and I've watched your vid on sandbanks a few times. Keep the vids coming but maybe not the live streaming, sorry. It doesn't add anything at all In my humble opinion. Awaiting your next vid👍
@@davidjones-pq1rt Thanks for the feedback David, so glad you like the Sandbanks video 😊 I had hoped to livestream during this time period when I've had to step back from TH-cam, but as you can tell, it brings challenges in terms of the microphone unbalancing the gimbal, audio problems, signal dropping out etc, so I've had to drop it for now. Hopefully back in a few months. All the best, Angela
Good video. New Malden is a place I've passed through in the car and on the train but never stopped at. Will have to visit sometime as probably only about 40 mins away.
Thank you Geoff, I have a soft spot for New Malden. I like the tree-lined main high street, there’s some amazing Korean food and kimchi, plus there’s a pub that hosts well-known comedy acts that I go to quite often. It’s got some interesting history too. All the best, Angela
Lovely video, thank you, It doesn't seem to attract a lot of people apart from the end part.
Agreed, I love it there and feel it’s marginally underachieved for such a fascinating and historical area. All the best, Angela
Hi Angela. Sorry to say the audio and video far from the quality of your other videos.Still grateful for your efforts.
No worries Roger. I’ve had to step back from TH-cam for a while due to soooo many factors elsewhere. I had hoped to livestream during this time, but I can’t quite sort out the audio due to mic attachments overloading the gimbal - hence wonky footage, plus of course signal inconsistency. Hopefully I can return to normal in a few months. Angela
Fun memories for me, seen plenty of walking videos but never one with decent commentary!
Awww, thank you, much appreciated 😁 Angela
When did you move to Wimbledon? My dad’s house was 12 Graham Rd. - E lees.
Haven’t moved there, still definitely Surbiton!
Hi Angela, nice to see and hear you again. I'm getting most of what you are saying. The sound and clarity of the picture is a bit wonky?
Hey there, lovely to hear from you:) Yes, it's a work in progress learning to livestream. I find it difficult to add a microphone without unbalancing the iphone on the gimbal; as a result I remove the mic but the sound isn't so good and so on. Plus signal drops out very regularly around central London. There should be another stream next week using different software and I'll see if I can fix the weight issue with the microphone for that one, so the image can remain stable. All the best, Angela
@@ChattyWalkswithAngela Thank you Angela, that sounds complicated. You are doing a better job than I would be doing. I have a lot of British cousins in the UK and one of them says that I am "technically challenged". Good luck. I still enjoyed the video. Gwen in Washington state, USA. 🗻🗻🗻
Hello Angela How was lunch? Was great to have a quick chat. I should have seen it sooner but I put the Olympics on and some Canadians where competing. It was 630 is when I normally get up even though I did not go into work until noon. Thanks Take care Chris and Sandra of Canada.
I had hoped I might catch your morning routine with a stream at that time:) I loved the view from the top of the Royal Opera House, but the meal was eye-wateringly expensive - I'll have to save up for it if I ever go again! If they had been running their normal menu, it would have been fine, but it's suspended over the summer, so instead it's a very limited and rather expensive offering. Just having a drink at the bar would have been better with the same views; there is a very nice cafeteria on the ground floor which I would have been happy to buy a sandwich or cake from - actually it's a very pleasant environment. Go Canada in the Olympics!
Hello Angela. Just noticed this come in at bedtime. Will watch your 31 min video tomorrow. Looking forward to it very much. This past Sunday I went to RHS Hyde Hall Flower Show in Essex. I did so largely in my very dear mum's honour and I chose Sunday as it was exactly a year to the day that mum and I attended last year. I even managed to park in the exact same space as last year. I had also mentioned a day or two before the event this year on the event FB page about my situation and that I was about to attend in mum's honour. I also added that I'm easy to spot as I'll be the gent wearing the Canadian flag. To my surprise, several folks came up to me on Sunday to say they recognized me from my FB posting. Also, quite a number of vendors remembered me from various other garden shows around the country as well as this one last year. They were quite shocked when I told them that my mum passed away on July 3rd. Also whilst waiting in the queue to go in at 10 am, I was telling my situation to a lady RHS staff attending to the queue.. She then told me she is also a spiritual healer and that my story sent shivers all over her body, likely meaning that my mum's presence is likely with me. It was all very emotional. Anyhow, I realise I didn't fully respond to your previous reply to me and I must apologize for that. Thank You again for this video and I will catch up with it very soon, as well as those from "Another Walker that's Watched." 😊 I am trying to stay strong but I have to admit this is a very trying time. Incidentally, the day mum passed away, July 3rd was the same day we were booked to go to RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. It was a members only day and I booked it months in advance. The organisers did at least give me a full refund when I told them what happened. Of course that was the least of my concerns and I'd much rather my mum and I were able to attend, as indeed we did for several years in a row. Hope all is well with you, Luke and family. Ibrahim in Canterbury
Thank you for a wonderful tour.
Hello Angela I missed a live walk bummer. There is a small museum in the Canada house. The Ambassador was not in as his car is normally parked by the bronze plaque you where looking at. Eleanor of Castile is my 23rd great grandmother. You did not get to the spot where the distance are measured from, which was on the island just opposite the closed Charing Cross tube station. Thanks for the walk around. We did not visit when we where there in June. Take care Chris and Sandra of Canada.
My goodness Chris, is there anyone you are not related to in UK high society??!! That's an impressive claim to fame. I was a little befuddled as my notes had not transferred to my phone so I was working from memory, so yes, I forgot to point out the actual correct point for Charing Cross. If I were to plan livestreams around your times, what are they in GMT? I try to film during days with better weather so as not to get the gimbal and phone wet, so can't always promise particular days, but times eg before you go to work, I may be able to adjust. All the best, Angela
@@ChattyWalkswithAngela Hello Angela Thanks My schedule floats. I am off today Friday, but each week I am off a different day. Yes it is cool to able to track my ancestry that far back. It is from my mother side. Elizabeth of Rhuddland was the daughter of Edward I my last connection to royalty. It was all down hill from there. Take care Chris and Sandra of Canada.
Thank You for this Angela and glad I was able to participate in the Live Chat. Apologies if I got rather emotional regarding the unexpected loss of my mum. Incidentally, my current profile photo shows my mum and I. Photo was taken at the nearby lavender fields about two years ago. I went back there on Friday in her honour. Anyhow, I enjoyed the video and I know my mum would have done as well. The Canadian High Commission was a nice touch. Chris & Sarah would have liked that too. 🇨🇦 I've got a fair amount of YT viewing to catch up on, particularly regarding a "Certain Walker that's Watched". 😊 Anyhow, Thank You again for brightening up what is a very challenging time for me. Ibrahim in Canterbury.
Our condolences on the passing of your Mum 😢 Revisiting the lavender fields was a lovely way to remember her now and forever 🪻 Sandra & Chris from Canada.
Hey there Ibrahim, it was lovely that you joined the stream and remembered your mother, I feel very honoured to be part of it with and for you both. As I mentioned, this must be an incredibly difficult time for you and it will take all your energy to get through it, and even then it is something that will stay with your endlessly. But you sound like a very strong person, so I'm wishing you all the best. And absolutely no need to apologise, ever! All the best, Angela
Sorry about your mum mate & I know what it feels like to lose one of your parents here! All the best from London, England
I've deleted the clips that the app livestreamed(!), so I can't reply to your earlier comment. I'm trying out some apps that allow me a better view of comments while I'm livestreaming, as when you were commenting on Wednesday, they disappeared off the screen far too fast for me to catch them all. It was only when I watched the stream back that I realised I had missed a lot of them, and Luke's reading skills can't keep up to help me. So if you see odd little clips, it's me trying to work out technology, which is not my strong point! On the bright side, I'm working on this so I can keep up with comments better! All the best, Angela
Beautiful London England 🏴 summer walking tour, Angela! I plan to rewatch this after I straighten up my flat here!
I hope you got your flat straightened up Falcom! And that you enjoyed the video. As you can see, the signal dropped out a fair bit, so I'm working on finding streaming software that improves on that. All the best, Angela
Very very Interesting indeed!! As a Swede living in London I find this extremely interesting, will have to visit for sure! Thank You! 👍👍
Well, I would definitely find your opinion interesting:) If there are any Swedish eateries in London you can recommend, do let me know, as I have a real soft spot for Scandinavian everything! All the best, Angela
Brilliant Angela, enjoyed your educational walk. Cheers! Oh! your camera work was spot on, the colors had a feel of an animation.
Thank you for the kind comment and I'm glad to hear you liked it. All the best, Angela
Hello Angela Yes sadly we are back home after a lovely 10 days in London. We had the perfect weather. We have never been to Wimbledon loved the village part. We did get to see the tennis court at Hampton Court this time. Thanks for the shout out. We have been watching Lukes videos, I was like him and thought cream tea was a special kind of tea. Angela love your fridge and the half door. The hot weather at home was gone we returned. Enjoy your time in Cypress. Thanks and Take care Chris and Sandra of Canada.
Thank you Chris and Sandra, hope you're all settled in at home now. Cyprus has had a heatwave but it's a bit cooler this week, definitely still got though, well into the 30s. Glad Luke isn't the only one a little confused by the idea of a cream tea!
Hello Angela. How are you? Very bad news from us. Mum has lost her mobility. She cannot walk or stand up. I am at her bedside at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and she can barely speak. A CT scan has shown brain bleeding on each side. I am totally devastated and have no idea what the future holds. She fell down the stairs on April 29th and fractured her wrist which was in a cast for 6:weeks and still swollen. But the far bigger issue is her CT scan. We are awaiting to have her transferred to Kings College hospital in London with a view to surgery although she said she would rather not have it. Apologies for this but I wanted you to know. WW also knows.
Oh my goodness, what terrible news, I am so sorry to hear about this. Of course you are devastated and must be very scared. My best wishes to you and your mother, I'll be thinking about you both through this incredibly difficult time. All the best, Angela
Good afternoon Angela, how are you? Love Wimbledon here in London, England 🏴 it's a beautiful place for tennis and soccer as well! Thanks for sharing, and I hope to see another video from you soon! 👍😎💂♂️🇬🇧
