Hey thanks so much for checking it out and sharing your experience with the track! I'm sorry your bluetooth system's decimated the audio (likely) demasking the mix and introducing artifacts. I guess the limiting, youtube audio normalization and lossy codecs really add up on such a decrepit bluetooth system. It would likely have additionally killed the audio/visual experience by also adding latency desynchronizing the reactive sound geometry from the graphics in the animation. I'm glad you gave it a spin on a more robust sound system in the end and it was better sounding overall! If you're ever curious to hear it again I can send you the non-normalized wave file of the track. If you were ever looking for a project to kill some time I can send you the stems if you want to remix and master it yourself if that is something you're into. It's true that in recent time a lot of my own musical work and session work has been largely focused to extreme metal/prog and fusion type of styles. However, I've been writing and have about five or six songs recorded for a synthwave/fusion project that I'm slowly trying to find time to complete and release. This is a single from that body of work. Thanks so much for checking it out! Guitars/my mixing are a bit "experimental" I was trying some sidechain filtered effects. I felt like it washed out the tone a bit doing that. Im not 100% into the drum sound on this one.

Hey thanks for checking it out. I'd be really curious to check out any recordings you might make of your cover. That's a cool tuning for a 7 string. I'm guessing/thinking it's close to the 8 string standard tuning (I don't actually know I've never owned an 8 string or played them much)? This is probably a better approach since I think it's closer to what Andrew wrote/recorded on the 8 string.

@@rdm7770 Yeah I was trying to go for that sort of thing, my 7 String is a Schecter Omen Extreme 7 with strings that are the thickest it can handle so I can go pretty low to 8 string tunings. Once I've got my stuff setup I can get in contact and show some recordings I've done!

I also re-recorded this as a demo and it's much better quality (this ones guitar pro with a live take overtop). th-cam.com/video/7rUmKXpDcxM/w-d-xo.html My buddy from Dissentient came up with an idea to use cuts to the audio as an "extreme gating" technique and I thought it made the riff more Djenty and cool sounding.

Still yet to record the bass but it will happen once the guitars and drums are scored. A friend of mine whos quite a talented vocalist and shredder himself shared interest in doing vocals for the project. He's currently recording his 4th full length and Im not even done writing the album so its not set in stone yet... Thanks so much for checking it out and your kind support!

Because I'm using a 7 and I think Andrew uses an 8 I'm not certain what he uses/how he tunes for 8 string. I also did this by ear. My tuning in this is as follows from highest string to lowest: 1 - e 2 - B 3 - G 4 - D 5 - A 6 - D 7 - F <-- This is the lowest note I hear in this song If you wait til the weekend I can tab what I played for you.
