  • This is a metal demo I just recently mixed down.
The DAW is Presonus Studio One 5 Artist Edition. It came with my Presonus 1810c interface (I recommend this one personally IMO).
I'm using EZ Drummer 3 with the Death Metal EZX (I eq'd it more in Studio One 5).
    Guitar Info:
Recorded on a Jackson JS Series Dinky Arch Top JS22-7 DKA HT tuned:
    e
    b
    g
    d
    A
    D
    F
    Distortion is 2 channel:
    Guitar---Whammy DT--Radial AB-Y--TO CH/AMP 1 AND CH/AMP 2
CH1: Radial London Tone Bone (Low gain/Mid EQ's)--Interface--Amp Sim
    CH2: Line6 POD-XT Live (High gain "Main" distortion tone/Amp Sim--Interface
Both channels combine in the software mixer to be a "complex" single sound that tries to grab the high gain intensity but the string articulation also. Can be switched from the interface to a set of amps but I haven't tried yet.
Guitar volume pot is rolled back to 7.5/10 (about 3/4's all the way up.
    Clean Tone 1 Channel:
I'm using a patch from the Line 6 I modified. Guitar is heavily rolled back on the volume to about 5/10 (half way).
    Lead Tone 1 Channel:
"The Bulb Lead Tone" I found on Line6's forums from Misha Mansoor. I've modified it in different ways but this thing screams, it's almost too much but rules.
Rhythm pickup selected, volume pot at max 10/10.
Midi automations for selecting the harmonizer effect or Detune/transpose settings of the Whammy DT are sent by my m-audio Midisport 4x4 interface. I don't automate the Whammy DT's pedal I find it sounds too boxy compared to using my foot, it's more boring to automate also than play it.
I'm still writing the bass parts and rearranging things. I've made an entire new signal chain for the bass parts that should give a nice sub sound with enough clarity and grit in another two channel loop similar to the distorted guitars setup.
Hopefully I'll be able to find some vocalists to help complete the project sooner than later.
    Thanks for checking it out!

This had a bass I'd might get it on a playlist. Great creativity, listenability. The THALL rings out nicely. You probably don't need a vocalist, tho it helps for most listeners.

Still yet to record the bass but it will happen once the guitars and drums are scored.
A friend of mine whos quite a talented vocalist and shredder himself shared interest in doing vocals for the project.
He's currently recording his 4th full length and Im not even done writing the album so its not set in stone yet...
Thanks so much for checking it out and your kind support!
