Hi, update from the last one, its taking longer then expected underestimating the amount of work to pull this thing apart and pack it up, maybe another 5 weeks ??? anyway one will return next week for another look at the bastard in red

oh no poor thing its little legs and big shoes have been removed, looks more like a sausage dog or one. of those low to the ground dogs,. quick update on it in it.

THE DOM HAS REACHED ITS LAST STUMP, but is this the end or will its little legs take it beyond the stump? I will pop in here over the coming days and try and capture the last segments hopefully....

WHEN I turned up thinking maybe its finished but no, old dom still plugging away in the mid day sun, and LOOk only 3 or 2 ( if your in the shade) stumps left, its little feet and tentacles getting ready for the last week on the job? with the bank holiday fast approaching will sir dom get to finish before the bank holiday shut down, tune in next week for an exciting instalment of dom in red velv...

quick update on the dom, not many stumps to go, noticed a crane slotting in some segments on the stumps, this will speed up progress , maybe only a few weeks left , its getting very close now, a little time-lapse at the end...

from copthall down to West Ruislip, quick update on events changes and look at all the segments all ready and waiting for there new life underground in the tunnel, the first vent hole has more mud around its body, its all coming along nicely...

HELLO, DOMS tail just over hanging the lake almost all of its gym fit body over land, some segment on the moving platform and a run over no mans land towards the tunnel entrance at copthall, very hot day and the poor guys in orange had to wear full ppe must of been boiling....copthall tunnel coming soon on the next one....

quick shot of the segments being loaded onto the tunnel train?? also at the end West Ruislip porthole and the train that, well I think but not sure bbbbut it delivers the segments from Old Oak Common or near old oak, have seen another video but can't find it now, also the music is a nice relaxing pounding techno beat, boom boom boom boom or dud dud dud dud dud

stump number 1 impact, its landed, the orange earth dance has begun, looks like a bit of Neopaganisum to me, could be the weaver's dance slightly adjusted to effect giant red lunching girder's? had to cut the video before the clothes came off,

today a look over at the foundation dom will rest his leg on, no movement from dom in over a week now, seems very subdued at the feet of dom, hopefully progress will pick up soon , so close to dry land, Hanger Lane at the end and a spitfire on the vanguard building

What a privilege to have been able to watch Dominique, going to miss her
I have loved all these videos, so thank you for sharing! I Would love to see a fly from that tunnel end where Dom is being dismantled, all the way to the Chiltern tunnel if you drone can cope with that in one go - would be fab!

Hopefully a few scraps will turn up at Wickes, dear. The nearest B&Q is well outside my comfort zone. I notice the 'Close Encounters' mountain has been shipped off to Pinewood ready for the next Moon landing. I never tire of these Ozric soundtracks. Check them out, kidz. Keep 'em coming ... 👍

Does anybody know for sure where Dominique is going next? I've heard a rumour that it is to be used on Rail Baltica, but so far it just appears to be someone guessing.
Hs2, totally unnecessary. Trains: absoluteky essential. How? Simple: put a railway down the centre of every motorway. Job done, all links ready built. Wake up!
You know we have seen some wacky criticisms of HS2 over the years, mostly wrong, but mate that was epically dumb 😏😂
The acceptable gradient for motorways is well beyond the gradient limit for railways, so a lot of motorways are simply too steep for a railway to be built along the median. A lot of motorways don't have a wide enough median to be able to build a railway line in the median. A lot of motorway interchanges would have to be completely rebuilt to allow for railway lines in the median. A few cities in the USA have sections of railway line in the medians of motorways. The traffic noise makes it necessary for staff to wear hearing protection on the platforms, and station access is awful.

Thanks for the imaging of the dismantling process, each of those main legs has graced each pier and SOP (Segment On Pier) over the gentle curve of the Cone Valley Viaduct for the travelers in the future and Fred on the cherry picker.... what becomes of you dear Dominique we ask as we drink to your legless demise.... @@SIMONC256 Yes I would like to do that, but they are working when I go so not so wise, I park and take off from the recycling in Harvil Rd, I tried Dews Lane but that was a no go, I don't know but they have repaired pads for it to move forward on to and the crew will be doing this so soon I think, I'm back on 17th so hope to catch the dismantling then. Me and Peter have an outstanding invite to the site tour so looking forward to that....

ahhh sergio mendes... i was watching the film Brazil and couldn't remember the song so looked on youtube and found brasil by antonio carlos jobim album called stone flower , it was changed a little in the film though, thanks👍👍,, i do like a bossa nova

Went to the temple of Dominique today and met a Align disciple, In Orange order and Tandrene Dream, he said Dominique has a new job in France... made my day....at 0.31 to 0.40 you can see the prepared area for the disrobing and future containership...

Great footage, Mr. C. 👍 Sir Dom, and all his appendages, seemed to be on a sprint after Harefield No.2 and Dews Lane. Now he's back to the sack race (there were always holes in each corner which meant you could basically run but with a sack around you). So, maybe they're dragging their heels a little or possibly there are legitimate reasons for the process to be slowed as the Mighty Dom (visible from space) approaches his final reckoning. His destiny is, of course, to be reduced to a pile of nuts, bolts, washers and lengths of steel which will then, unceremoniously, be packed into shipping containers and sent off to wherever. 😭 See you at The Horse and Barge/River Garden/whatever on Sept 5th, yeah?
not long now, finished on the 5th???? possible , then the undoing of all those rusty red nuts and bolts with the symphony of the rattle gun or ug a dug er. impact drill thingy.... yeah the 5th hmmm might be able to will see how it goes, would be nice to meet up and rase a glass too the joining of all those segments that make the viaduct and all who ride it.

@@PetertheRock. One would hope so, Lord Rock. I was wondering about making one of Dom's antennae into a medallion but then realised that, over time, I've completely lost my sense of scale for the wee boy. Maybe a single washer dangling from a piece of sisal twine would compliment my raggedy look.

the 5th sounds about right but this depends how quick it pulls itself out of the bank holiday the big slowdown can linger on a while in the building trade😉, its made it 🥳🥳 almost...

We have heard from signals picked up from the Dominique antennae.... finish to pier 2 week commencing 27th August, last segment ceremony on 5th September....
On what frequency are you receiving these messages, Stephen? All I get is white noise. Interestingly, the blurry satellite images from Sentinel 2 suggest that Sir Dom has inched forward somewhat between Friday 23rd and yesterday, the 25th. From what I can discern, Dom's back end is hanging out roughly 100m from 'Architectural One' which suggests 60-odd metres of Dom's front end is over the track bed beyond there.
I love white noise, what a wonderful album....all I know is it's going to be Dominique week, and the end is nigh.....

Good question. Last Train to London by ELO is suitably upbeat and incorporates some really funky bass work. Or, if SIMONE fancies going slightly leftfield, Heartbreaker (At The End Of Lonely Street) by Dread Zeppelin might fit the bill. We don't need anything too melancholy, right? Our host, though, will choose exactly the right piece of music for the moment. I just wish his vids were LONGER. Er, Dominique is a boy. TBMs are girls and thrusting launch girders are blokes.

For info.... Northholt tunnel is 8.5 miles long from West Ruislip to the Victoria Road crossover box, near Old Oak Common station. The twin bores are called East and West. The four tunnel boring machines...TBM are working towards from both ends and will meet at Greenford vent shaft. Sushila and Caroline TBMs are heading East to London from Ruislip. So that's the spoil we see at Harvil Road, and Cophall tunnel. Emily and Anne TBMs are heading west towards Birmingham from Old Oak Common. They will all finish in August 2025...
Wonderful project , thankful the nimbys and greens couldn’t get it cancelled, they would love us to be living in the stone age.
Superb footage as ever, Mr. C. Great soundtrack also - it's kind of Tangerine Dream exploring their inner Hot Butter (look it up, kids). Exciting times for we CVV nerds. I'm looking forward to the final deck section being placed and then you and cuemaster having fisticuffs over who captured the exact moment and who first uploaded it. I jest, of course. I think it’s incredible to spend this much of the Nations resource to shave 20 minutes off a journey between two cities that the majority of the population never even visit. Incidentally, if you need to go centre to centre the old Trains still quicker.

HS2 is not built to achieve that (solely). It provides two extra tracks to Birmingham and beyond. The full value can only be achieved when Phase 2 is constructed which provides two extra tracks to Manchester and beyond and two extra to Leeds. Do read up on this I beg of you.

This HS2 will put the really fast trains onto their own line and track, so then there can be many more slower trains and even electric freight on the heritage lines. The HS2 increases capacity by opening up the schedules to slower heritage trains....so by adding the new HS2 you "get" more capacity on the old heritage lines. The HS2 is really a win-win....you get faster trains for the commuters...and get many more slower tains can be scheduled on WCML and heritage lines.
Yet another great update. Many thanks. Reckon that Dom still has at least another couple of weeks to go, but not much more than that. Must say that the viaduct is looking very impressive. Will be interesting to see the extent of the cleanup/land restoration round around here. Hopefully it will be of high quality - would be good to demonstrate to the HS2 doom merchants that the land bordering what is essentially a very narrow railway line can be reinstated to a really high standard...
