Im happy that in Argentina theres nos Real copyright laws Theres few things that you can register as a license like in europe But i straigbt know that usonians and japan allows stupid amount of crapy licenses registration of most trivial crap Also theres even some cinemas that do public exinitions without you hqving to pay, so because its a free exibition copy laws allows it same with educational purposes you can play a movie or whatever long as you are not selling tickets for it

Dragon Ball is not overrated😂 i'm sorry, but it's definitely as good as it's been made out to be over 20 years that I have been associated with it granted about 19 of those years I've just kind of existed in the baskingof fansfans. I've watched the show off and on when I was a child but now at 33 I'm just starting to binge straight through and it's amazing

I'm not 100% sure, but here in Brazil, in the dubbed version, Sailor Urano and Sailor Neptune are explicit in a relationship just like in the original. Brazil usually don't change the Japanese edit, only adapts the language and the jokes to a Brazilian audience. In Sakura Carp captos, for example, even the show being on air at 10 am, on open television (more specific, Tv Globo, by far the most popular channel in the country) Toya em Yukito's relationship were not censured, the creepy relationship between that girl and her teacher also were not censured. Dude, even the scene in Dragon Ball were Goku slaps Buma's vagin@ were not censured. I love my country ❤

The real reason why they didn't have many US cartoons is due to international trading (And money). For example, Brazil only allowed trading with the US in 93, which by then anime was already popular here since there is a big Japanese community in our major city.

I'm Latino and I confirm. this is true. Anime in the 90s was bigger in Latin America than anywhere else. Most of the TV shows we got growing up were Japanese. not only anime but also Super Sentai, Masked Rider, Ultraman. all the good stuff! when Cartoon Network Latin America appeared and we started getting North American animated shows, our immediate reaction was that those cartoons weren't as good as the Japanese ones because they felt like they were made for toddlers.

Same here in Brazil, Sailor moon, Captain Tsubasa, Tenku Seki Shurato and others, they've all paved the way for anime culture, but Dragon Ball was a big hit with rich and poor alike.

When Nihilism is so present in every aspect of life (thanks internet for throwing away the veil of legitimacy politics and business had for our grandparents and parents) as a result of constant corruption and nepotism, of course you are gonna immerse yourself in media to "escape". It´s the cheap alternative to "self-discovery" trips to South East Asia that are so popular nowdays or falling for a Guru scammer or religious sect. People want to find meaning more than ever before and media is an easily digestible presentation of adventures that would require a lifetime to experience. And as a bonus it doesn´t hurt anyone, save for the overly exploited animators/game devs and your physical health if you are too sedentary...and of course your dopamine perception 😂 (That last one being truly the most damaging one. You will never motivate yourself to work harder for anything if your brain has easy access to dopamine) That said I almost cried when Akira Toriyama died even if I have been disconnected from Dragon Ball for years now. That guy helped to create more happy memories than any politician did. So yeah, media obsession is kind of inevitable in a nihilistic world

If physical games had regional prices adjusted for our relative poverty in Latin America, PS2 Dragon Ball games such as Budokai Tenkaichi 3 would have a couple millions more copies sold. But since that wasn´t the case people just pirated the s**t out of them. You just can´t spend $60 in a game if your average salary is $200-$300. And I always find it hilarious when the super strict and old fashioned Japanese companies try to deal with their laid back and zero f**ks given Latin American fans. They just don´t get it. Even the smallest good faith move would mean 20 times more here than in other markets. Just make a public viewing party official and take the opportunity to sell merch. Bet it will be a total banger

This single event was probably one of the most exciting and borderline surreal moments of my entire life, being a public park (in my case, the main plaza of San Nicolás in Monterrey, you can look up videos of this one specifically) and just realizing that there's hundreds of people; even grown ass man shouting and screaming like our universe was actually in danger, i don't think there will ever be something like that again in our lifetime.

I remember going with one friend to see that las chapter amd it was awesome,people that didn't know each other were hugging and crying,watching that last punch from Goku and freezer. After that, a little concert with the DB songs, I dare to say that,this anime is more powerful than any religion and I'm proud to say, I was part of does people watching that awesome ending. R.I.P Master Toriyama, you show to us that,even after all problema,we can raide our hands and remember that, if Goku beat Buu, we can beat anything
