This is not my first time building a PC, but it is my first time ever to build a fully custom water loop! I waited this case to arrive for almost 2 years and I am really excited to share this build with all of you! The reason why it failed: 1. The cooling is inadequate. A single 20mm thick 240mm radiator and one 15mm thick 120mm fan is just not enough to cool BOTH the CPU and GPU. 2. I find the...

Well.I have 2012 boughy new. You lost me when you said, I drive auto!
Very good overview; told me everything I wanted to know.
I want you to gift me this, I like it very much bro😅
The way he described it as encouraging you to just enjoy life. That is exactly right. I overpaid for my 2013, but I love it despite all the heartache
May I ask how much did you pay for your 2013 lol
My Abarth Cabrio just got totaled, needless to say I'm not happy about it. Was a great little car.
Sorry to hear that. Will you be getting another one?
@@howardishere already started looking. finding one similar to my spec and with low mileage has been tricky. Have been considering a MX-5 RF, test drove one and enjoyed it. MX-5 has more direct steering and the shifting is snappier, but even my wife said after the RF test drive that something was missing, it didn't have the same rawness, "raspiness" that the Abarth did/does. Lacks a little of the attitude that the Abarth brings to the table.
So all this video are so many complaints and bad experience which broke my heart discouraged me to buy one in future
It has its pros and cons 😉
I have a 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo and suddenly found your video as i was looking up the new 500e. Nice video and it seems you've had a good ownership experience. I haven't been so lucky as I had a blown engine at 48k miles and had to purchase a new one at great expense. Anyways, you had mentioned the side skirts being loose and I've had the same experience as well. The fix was pretty simple. I just pulled the side skirt out a bit to expose the plastic push tabs. There should be quite a few all along the middle of the side skirt. In my case, I noticed they had either fallen out or are just missing. I then rearranged them to fit into their appropriate slots and pressed the whole skirt up against the body until they snapped in place. Once the skirt is fully snapped in, you'll realize the adhesive isn't even necessary, at least not for the front. I'm not sure about the rear. I hope you'll give it a shot and take a peek behind it as its a really easy fix. On another note about the Beats system, I've also got the same system and it sounds pretty decent, and I'm quite an audiophile with expensive audio equipment at home. The sub even shakes the mirrors and interior if I left it at 0. Strangely enough, I have been in an Abarth with the same system and it sounded anemic compared to my system and it was very apparent as soon as I turned it on. It was literally night and day compared to mine. I'm not sure what the best solution is for you but if mine can sound good and rumbly, then there must be something going on with yours. Again, cool video, and the effort you put into it.
Question about the side skirt: is the whole skirt just fastened by plastic tabs and glue? Like are there any nuts and bolts? If not I am gonna give it a go and try to see if I can fix it myself. The beats system is very weak compared to other cars. It sounds exceptionally bad compared to to my other car. And glad you like the video!
@@howardishere there may be bolts at the bottom but you shouldn't need to undo them. It would be easier though to remove the entire side skirt if your hands can't fit into the opening once you pull on the gap. I personally had to use some tools like a plastic trim tool to prevent scratching the paint and creating deformation on the plastic skirt. Using towels is an option. On my own skirt, I had an issue where one of the plastic tabs that hold the plastic fastener was bent and I had to use a flat head to bend it back. It was really difficult to get a good angle and the part is all plastic but I managed it. Like I said, if it's bad enough, removing the side skirt would save you a lot of headache and time.
@@howardishere about your comment pertaining to the beats system, I do agree the system doesn't sound as good as other cars, but as I had mentioned, I've been in another 500 that had the beats but it sounded terrible compared to my 500. I think it's either an amp issue or something. My 500's system sounds quite full, and thumps good. You can feel the bass and it easily shakes the mirrors. I've had plenty of people sit in my car and tell me the system sounds surprisingly good, even compared to their cars. Not that it's a bragging point, there's lots of cars with better systems. Not to mention, I have a Hi-Fi headphone setup at home that is my benchmark of audio quality that puts every consumer audio system to shame.
You folks need a Delta Sonic car wash up there, those spinning brushes in your car wash made me cringe. Great video, the snow bit made me laugh. ;)
Glad you like the video! 😁
Deserve more views very thorough review of the car in a real life environment.
Thank you very much? I tried to review every single aspect of the car hope you enjoyed it!
Put a smile on your face! That is it. Thanks
Thx!
How about a road trip video? 😉
Possibly in the future 😁 road trip in this car though…it’s not gonna be comfortable lol
Only the cabrio cannot go through the automatic car wash
I have two of these I bought new from Dell. They're great and still chugging along. I just upgraded to 3080ti for both.
Glad to hear they are still up and running!
Very cool video
Thx!
ahahahaha loved the video dude. I also use the gas station blade wash and everybody picks on me 🤣
May be we need to make a video on how good these gas station car wash can be 😁
Driving manual is huge difference for the pleasure you get from a performance car. It is not slow. It is automatic.
May be someday I will learn to drive manual 😭
Bought one of Model F Labs' F77 repros and it's absolutely amazing! The reproductions have a more modern layout which is nice but I now really have an itch to try the older layout... This video convinced me to pull the trigger and buy an original one. Excited to see how it compares!
Glad you liked the video! I think if I have both keyboards I would like a modern layout more
@@howardishere Whenever it gets here I will update you with my thoughts! Just looking at it, I can already tell I would like the XT's position of the ctrl key more for sure. OH and I almost forgot to ask; how has it been for you so far? Are you still using it as a daily driver?
I just finished putting my parts in my own case it's very beautiful. I was able to mount my 240mm AIO with no modifications too
Great to hear! What kind of build did you go for?
I transferred my current build I already had to the Area 51 R2 case. My main build consisted of a Asus Prime Z690-P motherboard, i9 13900K, MSI RTX 4090, Corsair RGB Vengeance Pro 32GB DDR4 3200mhz, Cool Master 240mm AIO, 2 Thermalright ARGB case fans, Samsung 980Pro 1TB Nvme, 4TB Western Digital SATA SSD, and 1050w Thermaltake PSU
Unfortunately I'll have to remove the front panel LED lights and the right side panel ones because the command center ain't picking up the lights even though they are on. So I'll just do what you did with the lights and add my own LED strips.
They should work. I am using Alienware command centre 4.x, and you have to disable usb power when computer is off. How’s the cooling on the 13900k though?
@@howardishere I get around 39°C to 47°C on idle On load about 77°C is the highest I've seen it gone. I rarely ever run it much since the 4090 is doing most of the work when gaming at 4k.
Great video. I have 2012 500 Essseesse manual (in NZ) that has done ~205,000km and love it. Have had a few suspension replacements (shocks, bump stops and bushes) but no other mechanical failures. The airbag computer died but was not too bad (~$600) to replace. I'm the second owner, first was fastidious too, and have no plans to change. A smile every time you get in to drive, priceless!
Wow 205000 km! That’s a lot and good to know you maintain it very well!
Thank you very much for putting together this relaxing video for the wonderful Model F. The way you shot and lit everything demonstrates your talent and serves to showcase this delightful keyboard. I really like how you took your time and carefully went through each step of the process. I'm going to model your work when I clean and restore my keyboards, too.
Thank you for your kind words!
Great video
Thx!
Nitrogen is air... Like 78% of it.
You know what I mean 😁
What you don't use your abarth as a snow plow? Nice video btw
LOL thx!
Great review !!! Really enjoyed it … thanks 👍🏼
Thank you!
Cool car.

i bought the one you didnt want a few months ago (manual trans with cabrio top) with 17,000 miles.. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.. but I dont daily it.. COOL VIDEO.. I LOVE THESE CARS SO MUCH.. I SUBBED.. THANK YOU FOR THE INFO
I don’t daily mine anymore either. Great to hear you love yours!
Is the horizontal striped shirt a nod to RCR?
Sorry but I don’t know what RCR is 😅
@@howardishere th-cam.com/video/e7Uem4gjNY0/w-d-xo.html skip to 2:05, he mentions horizontally striped long sleeved shirts and you are wearing one in your video which I thought was funny.
There is no switch on this earth that feels more satisfying than model f's, followed by Orange Alps (best tactiles). Sold my IBM 84, but I still got my F-122 which I will keep as long as I breed. Good stuff.
Great keyboard you have there!
The weight of this car is actually around 1142kg / 2512lbs (curb weight). The gross weight of the car is 1497kg / 3300lbs.
You hear all that noise hitting the car when getting washed… yeah that’s micro scratches
I know…but that’s okay when the paint gets really scratched up I think I will do a paint correction and some sort of coating / protection
Looking at 500 min
I have a '13 5 speed 500 Turbo, Koni front struts and muffler deleat are only mods so far. Bought it in 2018 (with 88,000 miles!) and about to hit 100,000 soon. Except for one window regulator failing and one broken door handle( fixed it with a $10 part off Amazon) it's been quite reliable. And a blast to drive! Keep us posted, hope you keep yours another decade.
Wow and yea door handle lol I fixed mine when it was still under warranty so lucky me. The car is actually not expensive to keep (insurance and upkeep etc.) the thing is I live in an apartment building and I only have 1 parking spot so I am renting another spot to park this Fiat.
Youre spending way too much on maintenance and those problems youre experiencing. A coolant leak happening so frequently makes me think theyre not doing a good job at fixing your car. Theyre probably the ones who broke the side skirts too by not lifting the car correctly. 144 bucks for brake fluid? should be something you do by yourself for 40$ in fluid alone 386 for front brake pads? I put aftermarket street race/track ready pads in 30min-1hr for ~180-200 in parts, but for ALL wheels
Yea I know they are expensive but I don’t have a space for me to work on my car (I live in an apartment building) and I don’t know any good garages around so I just always go back to the dealer
Mine’s been reliable af running 200WHP. I do all the maintenance myself Ran a few track days this last year and can say the understeer is really holding it back. Filling the back wheels to 36 and the front to 32 (opposite of manufacturer recommendation) helped, and so did adding a larger torsion bar in the rear. The traction control also needs to be turned off because it uses the brakes too much causing them to fade quicker and slow you down
I have yet to track my car but really want to try. Hey you don’t feel the steering is very heavy when you fill the front tires to 32?
Hello. How did you manage to customize the backlight color on the front of the case if the Alienware software doesn't work?
The software works. Older version software works. I am using version 4.
@@howardishere I check. What is the full version of the program you have?
Its Alienware Command Centre 4.0.59.0. If your motherboard usbs are set to passthrough power when system is off you need to turn this off, power the computer down and turn it on again. The software will recognize the board.
@@howardishere I check! Thank you 👍👍👍🙂
@@howardishere Hello. Disabled USB in BIOS. But Alienware Center Commander does not recognize my PC. 🤔
Great video! I really enjoyed watching the way you did this. I'm in South Africa and I have a manual 2019 Abarth 1.4 T-jet which I daily. I average around 6,8 l/100km with mixed driving conditions. It has almost done 80 000 km. I usually drive the car in normal mode as the throttle response is less aggressive, which helps in peak time traffic especially. Did you know that the car produces exactly the same power whether you're in normal or sports mode? I saw this posted by a Fiat Master Technician on an Abarth forum. The main difference is basically in the throttle map. So when you give 20% input on the throttle it will open say at 40% giving the impression of a lot more power. I'm not saying this is the correct percentage, but this is how it was explained. I find that in sports mode the car makes me drive it overly aggressively and I will get between 20-50 km less range on a tank, no matter how economically I drive it. One of the biggest challenges for me with this car is to drive it sedately. It's always egging me on to go faster. 1. Heavy steering: I must say I don't have that issue. In normal mode it is super light and comfortable. It tightens and feels heavier in sports mode. 2. Broken side skirts: The broken side skirts might have been caused by lifting the car incorrectly on a car lift. I don't know if the underside rust proofing was done at the dealership or by an external company. It might have been caused by them who didn't know how to use the car's jacking points correctly, which is why it has been broken since you took delivery of the car. 3. Maintenance costs: Wow, dealership costs are insane! I was blown away by how much you spent on maintenance especially rotors and pads. The moment my car was out of warranty I looked for an independent specialist. To give you a price comparison on a major service to change the cambelt and water pump including normal service items cost me R5396 ZAR which equates (at the time of writing) to $390 Canadian. The dealership quoted me $1086 Canadian. The specialist even cleaned the oil return pipe to the turbo as those clog and starve the turbo, eventually causing it to fail. This is a common thing with Fiat/Alfa-Romeo vehicles. Dealership would never do that, unless you ask. 4. Modifications: Mine is de-catted with the standard exhaust and I have a BMC filter with BMC blow-off valve. No increase in performance. 5. Nitrogen: I agree with you, normal air works just as well. Yes you have to check your tire pressures more often - big deal! 6. Sound System: In a word - horrible, you have the Beats edition with a sub I see. Mine is worse than yours. Who needs it with that exhaust sound? 7. Water leak: never had any leaks or other problems. 8. Battery: You will always need to change after a few years, unless you maintain it correctly by putting it on a trickle charger when not driving, or getting it to a full charged condition every 6 months or so. Then they can last a very long time. 9. Door lock: Crime is country and city dependent. South Africa is crime ridden. My car's door lock has been broken twice by thieves to steal whatever is in the car. I disabled the lock from the mechanism and blanked off the keyhole for future would-be criminals. We also have anti-smash window protection which helps stop them from breaking in. 10. Sunroof: I quite like it, but agree that the material they use for the sunroof block-out is not sufficient. Still gets very hot in direct sun. 11. Things I would've liked: We could not choose arm-rests, and cruise control is not an option, which is something that is annoying for longer drives. Your car is one of those "golden buys" for anyone wanting to own an automatic Abarth. Meticulously maintained example. Well done. Apologies for a long post
No I really like to read these long comments as I can compare my experience with yours! I don’t want to modify this car but I do want a bigger brake caliper and rotors. I believe if I am to change the cam belt and water pump here it will be somewhere around $1000CAD LOL Another comment mentioned that nitrogen is a scam and I started to think it actually is. Is yours left hand drive or right hand drive? Personally I have not seen any 2018/2019 abarth here I honestly think they still sold 2018 here but 2019 I don’t think so
Hi.. Yes for sure Brilliant fun great looking little cars, I've never had so much fun driving and that distinctive Abarth sound I have a electronic valved raggazon mated to a novitec corse evo racing rear box delete exhaust system, it sounds epic on the revs wirh all the pops bangs and wooshes.. Here in the uk And I believe in Europe we have the 1.4 tjet engine mated only to a 5 speed gearbox, the option semi automatic gearbox is also based on this gearbox, on the Abarth it's a push button affair with padal shifters on the steering wheel surround, on the more basic 500s it's a similar leaver/ shifter that you have. The 6 speed box was only fitted to the punto Abarth as like yours and the American Market, the punto also has the 1.4 mutiair engine thus mated to the 6 speed box but no auto option for the punto here so consider yourself lucky you had the option to purchase the auto and that its a heavy duty design and has been 100% reliable 😉 As for the brakes the standard Abarth brake pads and solid discs are cheap here and so easy to replace but They are expensive if they are the twin pot brembo callipers with drilled discs ! Also its always worth checking the callipers slider pins at the same time and fron time to time, especially the rears as they commonly stick and can seize causing uneven braking and pad/disc wear! The tjet engine here is bullet proof just requiring an annual oil change with the proper 10/50 Abarth selenia oil, again is reasonable to buy and only 3 litres, a timing belt and water pump/ coolant change around 60,000 miles plus mabe spark plugs aswell rear shock absorbers are common to fail usually the top rubber insert bushes and front lower arm ball joint this is because of a combination of stiff suspension and bad broken up roads so its hardly surprising! I haven't heard of any coolant related issues with uk/ Europe spec cars but I did notice the coolant tank on the multair engine its a different shape/type so could be a design fault! Providing you replace and flush the system every few years and check clamps and hoses should from time to time! Also being an automatic its worth replacing the transmission fluid, I have done it on my manual Abarth, this is something that is overlooked as its not usually part of any service schedule! Like engine oil does it'll safeguard and maintenance the gearbox reliability! But over all its good to see its been a reliable car. The only major cost I have had is an airbag module failure which cost £800 to rectify otherwise has been trouble free and I've owned my Abarth nearly 8 years but it wasn't new, I do all my maintenance unless it's a big job that requires a car lift or timing belt etc. Speaking of car lifts it could be this that damaged your side skirts, if not lifted correctly where the Jacking points are, any weight on the skirts will result with the cracking or coming away from the panels like yours so possibly your car was on the lift for the pdi checks before you took delivery !! Anyway it was Great insight into the 10 yrs of your Abarth, experience and costs, thanks for sharing, i hope any information here helps you and others for the future.. 😊👍
Wow thank you for all the insights! I know in Europe you guys have way more choices on engines and gearboxes. Not to mention the sales figure of the abarth 500 here is somewhat terrible lol when I bought the car in 2014 the sales are already on decline and the later abarths there wasn’t much change except fiat added the Center console screen. We didn’t even get the face lift in 2018 and then they discontinued it. That being said I have not seen a 2018 or 2019 abarth 500 here in person lol Great note on the transmission fluid. I think I will have that done next service.
OK! Somebody CLUE me in! I got a MODEL F Keyboard and the converter. Hooked things up. Turned on the PC and NO JOY. Is this a case of WIN 10 won't recognize the keyboard OR is there something that I don't know about that I need to do? SERIOUS QUESTION. PLS ADVISE!!!!
I wish I could help but mine is just plug and play it works immediately. May be a faulty converter? I am still using mine to this day and problem free. Where did you get your converter?
@@howardishere I Think that the converter came from a company in the Philippines? A FIRM called TINKERTOYZ??? At THIS point, I am NOT sure if the KEYBOARD or the CONVERTER is the problem? Do You have a suggestion as to where to try for a CONVERTER?? MANY THANKS!

A 2016 Renegade Sport with 70000 miles on the clock !
Nice!
I need some help getting all this to work I've been stuck trying to figure out how to get everything to work. I have always wanted to repurpose my old Alienware case and make a lot of upgrades as you did in this video. Did you have to buy third-party cables to get your motherboard to function with the R2 IO Board?
No I reused all old cables. I did try to use extension cables but the pins on the usb and audio cables weren’t the same as the originals so I just swapped back to originals.
@howardishere weird, I'm trying to use the cables that originally came with the alienware PC for the power switch and the USB but the receiving end is smaller than what is on my motherboard. It seems I may need to try and find a female to female cable for it to work. I'll try to take a closer look but I do believe that one end is a bit smaller and cannot use it. I just wanted to reach out to you if you had used any other cables other than those that are for the alienware.
The power switch cable? It should be plug and play the motherboard end of that cable is just one plug so check and see your motherboard (the power switch led hdd led area) the holes should line up with the pins perfectly
@howardishere OH! One more question did you have to download alienwares alien command for the lights on the case to work?
Yea you need to download Alienware command Centre. I am using an older version 4.x it works perfectly. Try to Google it and you will find it
I'm Alberta and have a 2015 Fiat 500 Turbo, automatic, almost the same car as yours. This is a wonderful video and i'm glad to see such a passionate community around these cars all over the world. Also doesn't hurt that they turn into micro rally cars in the Canadian winter! My left rear wheel bearing went bad as well! And the right rear is going. In the future try to do them yourself! They are very easy to replace. I did mine DIY for $140 CAD. Pads and rotors too :) you got this, you can get pads and rotors done in an hour or two for a couple hundred bucks. As a fellow over-6-footer, the seating positions are so unpleasant, no matter how you set it. I am looking for a way to mod the seats to sit lower and retain the airbags+heating. I have taken out the rear seats to make a flat floor, and it's impressive how much weight you save and how clean you can make it look for very little effort+cost.
I thought about removing the rear seats as well but I have no place to store it so I just left them in lol I should’ve work on the car myself more but I live in a condo so no space :(
Your build looks great! Thanks for the great video. I will have to remember your RGB upgrade for the future. I've been using an R2 that I got at a garage sale a year or so back. I was very lucky that it had all the original hardware aside from the graphics card, and that the i7-5820K was very overclockable. Boosting to 4.5ghz on the stock liquid cooling setup. I replaced the thermal paste, and put a gtx 970 in it. It is very much lagging behind with the current generation of games, but it's very nice for ps2 and ps3 emulation and many games that are only a little old. I'm looking forward to using this case for my next build as time and money allows.
That’s great! I didn’t really like their stock liquid cooling hut in general I just don’t like liquid cooling lol when you upgrade just keep the cables and the front IO board and you are good 👍
Bro you have one to sell?
I don’t anymore :(

You got ripped off really bad on the brake job, I did mine myself with Ferodo high performance pads and stock rotors for $350 in parts. P Zero stock tires are trash replace these with Bridgestones, Falken, Michelins. Great video, I love my 2018 Abarth.
I know…but I had no other choices I don’t know any garages so I always take the car back to the dealer and that’s what they charged. What tires are you using?
@@howardishere Falken, because they are 200tw and I autocross the car extensively with some pretty good results.
Good to know. When my pirellis are finished l am definitely getting another brand
@@howardishere It doesn't mean all Pirelli tires are bad but the ones on this car I'm guessing are cheap as it is a sensible place to cost cut. I'm sure the ones on exotic sports cars are better.
