    I don't even know how to feel man. There is no next episode next week. Too many things happened in this episode (last 20 mins were insane). Had me fooled in the first half (more like four quarters) with Billy's character development until a buzzer beater made mans do a 180 (and it made sense but I'm salty😭). At least they beat the "spinning the wheels" allegations 😂 Everyone was wrong about who would die in this episode and I am screaming😂 Subverted tf out my expectations. Unfortunately. She should have stayed in the room! She’s so overcome with guilt about the way her kids were raised and the state of their current relationships, that she’s trying to hold everything together now just to give peace a fair chance. But the seeds she planted - or didn’t nip in the bud - have put left damage control as the only real option. Her power is barely real anymore and she’s stressed. So she doesn’t even have the presence of mind to give her children what they actually need, including Helaena whom she tends to worry about the most. She cares, but doesn’t know how to properly listen because shes been driven by fear for too long

    Appreciate the shoutout😊 Homelander's a better man than I am because I would have folded like mad. Kripke and co always find a way to make abilities look more freakish. Loved the fight and didn't expect A-Train to join the fight. Surprised that Ashley didn't rat out A-Train. Also, having the last episode titled "Assassination Run" air the week after Trump's assassination is an insane script and coincidence

      Thanks so much for the continued support! Lool Homelander actually managed to stay focused this time 🤣 and tbf, well done to Ashley for not ratting him out. Yeah, the coincidence between the finale and the events of the last couple of days is uncanny (but Kripke might mention that it's just where the events of the last few years were inevitably going to lead to)

    Accent doesn’t posses much power - any power she had vanished when Otto left and Ser Criston Cole was made Hand of the King. She’s always been a bystander - by choice. The scene was dumb though because once she walked away why didn’t she call guards to kill Rhaenyra?

    • @popcornfordinnerpodcast
      @popcornfordinnerpodcast หลายเดือนก่อน

      She didn't call the guards to kill Rhaenyra because although she wants her side to win, she doesn't want her friend to die. That internal conflict is what drives Alicent's characterization this season, as she would still choose the route with the least pain and violence if she could. From that perspective, allowing Rhaenyra escape is an action that is in line with her personality and motives. Besides, she's far too devout to condone bloodshed in the Great Sept.

  • @TheMATTUMBO
    @TheMATTUMBO หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think alicent saying it was too late was more her saying there is nothing she can do. She has lost most of her power to be able to do anything.

    • @popcornfordinnerpodcast
      @popcornfordinnerpodcast หลายเดือนก่อน

      She definitely has! Alicent probability WANTS to do something on some level, because she’s seen that none of this is worth it anymore since Aegon hasn't exactly lived up to her expectations. So Rhaenyra’s revelation could actually have brought some relief in a perfect world. But this isn't a perfect world. It's one where she knows it’s pointless to say anything since she can barely control or influence the men surrounding her.

    I feel like thought this part 2, Penelope has been a selfish person all through. It’s just like urghhh. If all her life, she’s been secluded and not paid attention to and she’s due to that decide to publish a gossip piece to pass away the loneliness and all of a sudden she’s had company, not just any company but the best one at that (after subduing him with kisses) and…he asked that you stop writing a piece that you’ve used to spoil his image and that of his family over the seasons and even this one and you say no, “ill rather live a wretched married life for the rest of my life that stop gossiping” Gossip or your friend, she picked gossip Gossip or your husband? You picked gossip Gossip or your family’s reputation? She picked gossip Even when she threw the ball for her sisters, it’s with selfish reasons. Thank God it’s a romcom and has to end happily what if the queen had really been vengeful with her anger and done somthing hurtful.

    • @popcornfordinnerpodcast
      @popcornfordinnerpodcast หลายเดือนก่อน

      We definitely understand how you could feel like that. Like you said it’s great and I think her adherence to quitting the column adds to the drama. She deserves her autonomy and we support that. However, it’s a romance and it has to end with a happily ever after despite her being a very complex character!

    Watching Aegon break Viserys lego set was heartbreaking af. Aegon's tenure with Criston as the hand is gonna make a dumpster fire look like fire works, just sheer chaos that you can just tell will be born outta unadulterated stupidity. The scene where Alicent just stares at Aegon instead of consoling him in contrast to Rhaenrya hugging Jace after his brother's death says a lot about Alicent as a mother, of all the duties she's had to fufill this is the one that truly mattered. While this might be a bad time for Daemon to be leaving, I'm so glad Rhaenrya finally called him out

    • @popcornfordinnerpodcast
      @popcornfordinnerpodcast หลายเดือนก่อน

      Alicent has several issues, and a lot of them stem from her self-righteousness. She believes he HAS to see herself as pious, and because she does, everything hits her that much harder, especially guilt. She probably couldn't face Aegon because of her own perceived responsibility in the tragedy, and this is solidified by the fact that she immediately sought out Criston with whom she shares said guilt. The maternal contrast between her and Rhaenyra is definitely something she show wants us be aware of. And yes, it definitely was heartbreaking to see Viserys' model destroyed. Quite stressful to watch in fact. Not you rightfully calling it a lego set though 😂

    Many people have trouble maintaining interest in the show in The Regime. I think her issue is that it feels like there’s no “there there” to the show. Overall, it’s definitely not a great show. It’s a solid show that has its moments.

      Never too late to watch a 'Succession video' and never too early to start a 'Succession' re-watch😉

    FORKS and FISHES my lord. I watched the finale before I started the season and it made no difference to my experience.

    Daisy jones and the 6ix was a lovely surprise, binged it as well. Although we are #FREEPALESTINE, I love the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Definitely cried and it is 100% the best amazon show (even better than the boys)

    I feel like this season is boring. No Irina or Micah. None of the triangles are interesting. Outside of Nolan and Trevor no hot guys. The couples either seem boring or have very obvious issues.

      Perhaps signifying a trend for the show as a whole. We'll have to see. Thanks so much for watching!

    In interviews Joel has said he was told he had a 5 season arc. It could still change but he will likely put in an appearance at least.

      Yes, it seems unlikely that he'll die between seasons. He may have a reduced role next season but he should definitely make a handful of appearances.

    Is the ending of for all mankind reminiscent of foundation?

      Unfortunately, Bankole is still behind on his 'Foundation' homework, so we'll have to get back to you on that😂😂

    I really disliked this S4 finale. They portrayed criminals who were out to benefit themselves (Dev and Ed and Miles) as being heroes. What happened with the asteroid was a decision to be made by NASA. Danielle was the hero. There was no sense of duty or morality in this mess of a finale.

      You clearly did not understand what was going on, did you? Frist of all, when have such resources, as contained in the asteroid, ever truly benefited the masses? NEVER! In human history, the powerful few hoard the wealth for themselves. And if the asteroid came to Earth, that's exactly what would have happened. That and the end of space exploration again, with Mars no longer being necessary and simply a huge cost. So Dev stole it to ensure that Mars would still be developed, not because eh wanted to stop any of the iridium getting to Earth. It will get to Earth, but Mars will have to be developed further.

      You definitely have a point there. The show's focus on technological optimism may have had a lot to carry in these final three episodes. Still, it's worth noting that the show probably portrayed them as heroes because the characters believed they were acting FOR ALL MANKIND rather than to appease corporate or governmental interests. Of course we see where Dev is in the time jump, so we'll have to wait to till season 5 to find out if there were any ramifications for him, Ed and their crew.
