Love the show, since finding it on the BBC i-player, it’s HBO with an element of BBC involvement, executive producer Jane Tranter made her name there. A higher profile on the channel now. This episode to me at least, with the economic background of the budget, was essentially the same as Liz Truss’s notorious and insane 2022 mini budget. Aside of course from primarily being about Rishi. The character being written and named before Truss’s hapless successor becoming a prominent politician and then Prime Minister.

    • @popcornfordinnerpodcast

Yes he smiled cuz the memory montage of them and her saying never loved anyone. He KNOWS she loves him. Not traditional rom com be together but still real. He smiles drives off knowing has her heart. Not practical typical relationship. But they are ok with it. Also notice how she thumps her chest over heart as saying goodbye showing him again Love! Crazy all haters she needed to protect herself she has problems regular ppl don't qnd won't have. She picked least worst option that family marrying into. And baffles me how ppl calling her psycho and evil. They NEVER had a traditional relationship and sex games already done casually before... Was a goodbye f*ck and also real in every way. She says it cuz she has NEVER felt it b4. And she says it many times to emphasize to Robert she means it. Doesn't need to be more! He DOES understand. & again he drives off smiling knowing he was the 1 she could be close too... they never had a couple relationship set not like she betrayed him she was honest more than ever been. Obviously same day funny but she was honest too Henry too. So truly Don't see issue. Ya rob hurt for sex surprised at engagement info but again not like they had a commitment even! and not like she had family money left and press destroying her job fired her. All makes sense to me, seems everyone trying apply normal rom com / dating dynamic beliefs into this aristocracy lifestyle etc. Things are done differently and clearly more open etc too. Sex etc

I totally agree with the perspective of Yas seeing the family in the car at the gas station as normalcy, as well as Rob playing the scratch off tickets, and its effect on Yas's decision making. Yas is not having any parts of a middle to upper class paycheck or life. That freaked her out for sure! I remember, I think in season 2, Yas having a moment with Harper when she asked Harper if she could ever imagine what it would be like to not have money, and Harper said "yes". Yas was sitting there like, ohhh not me! She also freaked out on her father in season 2 when Yas was trying to get Celeste to manage the family money and Yas caught wind that there might not be as much money left as she thought. Her father had to supply the dopamine hit of assuring Yas that they have money for generations to come, which instantly eased Yas. Yas walked into that mega castle and made her jokes about Henry not having the space to house her and Robert, meanwhile planning how to tether herself to this lifestyle. Now she will be all alone in that mega castle with no real support and only her thoughts. Really sad. And to confirm, through the tearful embrace, that her father was molesting her as a child, even more sad. When it ended I was like "WAIt a Minute, Is Industry done???" So curious to see where they go with this. Thank you for your time and efforts with these reviews throughout the season and the jokes along the way!! Very much enjoyed!!

I kinda wish they really over reacted Yasmin’s character in that gas station scene. It would have been the cherry on top if they made Yasmin’s character vomit after watching the average mom and kid and scratch off scene. Kinda like Glen Close in Fatal Attraction when she was stalking the family of her ex lover and saw them in a sweet moment and she just vomits, lol. I kinda wished they just made Yasmin start vomiting after watching Rob play some scratch offs. Like any type of normalcy she just disgusted. Imagine Rob just going to Cinnabon or suggested to eat at the mall’s food court she just vomits lol. You know what, I hate to say this and I’m not a fan of Harper but the sociopath Harper is right Yasmin is useless, lol. 😂
