If almost every deer ducks from a bow soumd why not aim slightly lower

Just last week I caught a flock of 9 birds on my TC. 3 times 3 different days.

I got a 362 pro saw with a 20" bar. The dealer was pushing a 36" bar at me, but I was able to refuse. He seemed frustrated. My next bar will be an 18". I want my saw to work with ease. I may have to go around big tree trunks, but my saw will enjoy it. Not to mention my arms will as well.

Relatively new to hunting I have seen a good bit of these videos where the deer "ducks" Does this happen with rifles as well, or is it just bows because of the lower fps?

Seen a half rack buck following a doe today, right on her ass no chasing though. Seen 3 other small bucks. Public land is finally heating up rubs and scrapes everywhere

Its not the "string" it's the noise the fletching makes in flight...

I think the mistake was grunting at the deer. It immediately went from calm, to high alert. It was ready to break at the first excuse to do so.

Never dressed a duck before, now I am confident of the task - the tendon cut at the leg was an interesting technique.

Point of aim and impact were the same. I don’t know why you shifted the point of aim down after the shot. The target area moved nothing else

Only 315fps at 70 lbs? You need a Hoyt 60 lbs at 305fps

Yeah we get it, just happened to me 6:45 Saturday morning.

The deer didn't drop until the broadhead hit it. The lighted knock is 2.5 ft behind. You shot high... don't kid yourself.

Jumped the string? Looks like you got it. If you killed the deer he didn’t jump it. Jumped the string means you missed.

I always aim lower, close to the belly line, because of that reason

Damn still a kill shot but that sucks when they hear the bow.

It was one of my hardest obstacles to overcome bow hunting out of a tree stand. It took me the longest time to understand that you aim low.

It’s not all draw weight the draw length and grain of arrow have more to do with speed than just draw weight

Same thing happend to me at 11 yards. I switched to an almost 800 grain arrow and have zero issues with it. Its a plan B arrow for when shit like this happens. You cant control the deer but you can control your gear.

I've never had a deer duck an arrow. I also dont make noise and alert them before i shoot. They generally dont know I'm there

Because a deer with its head up is faster reaction time than a deer head down feeding

It’s almost like when these deer are born they practice this spidey sense to crouch. It’s really a thing of beauty to watch but a a damn it moment for us hunters.

I put this video in my Editor, the deer only dropped maybe and inch before your arrow hit. The deer dropped after the hit. Your shot was high from the release.

... the light on the knock doesn't help. Arrows aren't exactly quiet, either.

Is it just me or is it better to let them naturally stop vs stopping them intentionally if it can be avoided ? Seems like when intentionally stopped increases the chances of the deer doing what she did. Nothing towards the shot just asking
