    Question: what do I do when it rains? Should I put this thing away? Great vid by the way. I’m in a 400sqf space and have used a cheap standing fan to blow out air for years. Not enough people know it’s often better to have two windows open, one with the fan blowing out hot air and the other window naturally pulls in fresh outside air. Let it breath as you’d put it.

      Good Question. I don't know if it's water proof so I would bring it in if there is a heavy rain storm. Otherwise, if only mild rain and no wind, I wouldn't bother. Cheers 🍻

    Will the Rode or any microphone operate in the 20k-60khz region. I grabbed my old sound level meter yesterday and it has apparently died from the acid of the batteries I left in it a few years ago. I am having a hard time locating any real information on the frequency response of the commercially available wireless mics.

    • @Now-Review-This
      @Now-Review-This 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      20k to 60k? No human can hear that high, we stop at 20khz, and most stop well below that. But there are some very specialized microphones that are sensitive beyond 20khz, they are usually lab based and very expensive. RODE has nothing I'm aware of that is capable in the range you describe. I literally show the full frequency response of these Rode GO II mics in the video.

    • @grt49er
      @grt49er 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Now-Review-This Thanks for the response. I was hoping maybe these would fit due to the ease and portability. The application is monitoring dogs so ideally normal to 45khz range would be good. I don't need to hear it. I just want to be able to graph it if It is there.

    • @Now-Review-This
      @Now-Review-This 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@grt49er: I see. These mics won't work in that range by specification, but I have no way of testing beyond 20khz to see just how far they can go. You might want to try a sound analysis microphone and then record in 32 bit so you can boost the levels without clipping or distorting. But it still probably wont be sensitive enough to go that high. Another option would be a very large diaphragm mic such as the RODE NT1. The larger the diaphragm, the more sensitive, in theory. amzn.to/3YaG2HF Otherwise I think you'll need a very expensive scientific/lab grade mic to do this job. Good luck.

    I have this Dayton Audio SUB-1200, and it doesn't sound that great for one reason and I know how to fix it. The reason it doesn't sound good is because its piggybacking off the signal going to my studio monitors coming from my TV. It's not hooked up to an amp and I am CERTAIN that it would sound MUCH better hooked up to a proper amp. In the future I'm planning to get a pair of Dayton Audio B652 bookshelf speakers and a Fosi Audio BT30D and move my studio monitors to my computer. Until then, I'll keep on using the setup I have now, and while the sub does fill in the bass that's not there in my monitors, its just not very even on any low notes.

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The better the input signal, the better the output from this built in amp. That is until the amp just runs out of power of coarse. Then it just goes snap crackle pop regardless of input signal. This built in amp is just way under powered. I'm confident the speaker and cabinet could sound great with EQ, but not without replacing the amp. There are so many great options available now for amplification, just make sure you pick one with enough power, 500 real watts minimum so that you have some real headroom.

    • @ThatOneHWcollector
      @ThatOneHWcollector 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Finite-Tuning Once I get an amp and the B652 speakers it's already going to sound far better than before, so I would wait to upgrade the plate amp on the back. I don't often play music that loud but I'm sure the plate amp will be just fine for now.

    They DO SMELL AWFUL and they DON'T move a lot of air at all. I have a floor stand Vornado for YEARS that works GREAT, and moves a LOT of air. These things absolutely do NOT. NOT worth the 100 bucks I paid for it, not even worth half that. Been running the thing in my dining room and the air flow is SO POOR I have to put up a cardboard partition to redirect the airflow where I need it. As long as it's exhausting the air, the smell is bearable, but EVERY TIME you change it to pull air in from outside, that AWFUL plastic stench kicks you right up in the nose.

    • @Now-Review-This

Nothing much I can tell ya about the smell except give it a little time, it goes away. Yes the price SUCKS, that's why I started with that point in my review. But that 5 year warranty won't be found in any copycat, for less cost.

      Eyes in the head of the beholder. I cannot see what any of you see, and you can only see what I've shown here in this video. But if I were to filter this fan, I would do it on the intake side. Totally 'depends' on the thickness of your walls/windows, but I would build a SIMPLE EXTENSION box that would attach to the back side (intake) of the fan. I would place the filter in between the body of the fan and the extension box itself. It would have to be easily accessible and serviceable, but every install will be a custom fit to do this job. Hint 1. don't forget the simple power in a rubber band. Hint 2. don't forget that rubber bands out-gass as they age!

    Would be interesting if you could get a baseline on your testers, to see how accurate it is. The go to, for years has been the Schumacher BT-100. If your different meters measured the same, I wouldn't have any concerns. Granted, they don't have all the bells and whistles as the electronic versions, but they are cheap, reliable and last forever.

      They are accurate, very in fact. I checked both testers against my Fluke 87v back when I first got them. But as demonstrated in the video, they are very sensitive to their connection point. Every wiggle of a cable will result in a different reading. Batteries are very coarse devices though, they don't really care about mili-volts until we start talking about 100's of them 😁.

    LDAC quality is very much related to transmission rate with the best being 990kbps. On my android phone I have to select this manually as the default is a lower bit rate to prioritise connection stability - at the expense of audio quality. Were you able establish what the transmission rate was? Is this in the documentation for either the transmitter or the receiver?

    Great review, have the same issue with my dual fan models, one always goes out within 3 years, even with mesh and weather guards outside the window, definately going to get a transom after your video. And also nice LG window ac, my house is on the small side and about 1k sq ft. It's been getting decently hot here in northern California and I recently got a 12k Midea on amazon on "sale" for $250. Man that things be amazing, and it's a u-shaped so it's basically a micro-split lol (even has proper insulation between the sections where the lines go through, no giant styrofoam block crap). When I first got it I thought something was wrong with it because those inverter systems can throttle so low I couldn't tell it was on, I was still so used to the loud "on/off" cycle of the older window ac's. Plus at full blast (which only happens when i set it super low) it only runs about 350 watts and it's ice cold, the efficiency is miles better.

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. These new inverter AC units are definitely the way to go. Used northstar batteries on a massive industrial project I built, left the power on for weeks no issue. Used the Odyssey when they bought Northstar, 50% of the batteries ate shit in the first 3 months. Every single Odyssey battery has been replaced twice, I still have northstars in a few units 5 years later. So far in our applications, we're done with Odyssey.

    Thank you for uploading this review video. Had been lately thinking in adding a second Optima battery to my old 2004 Durango who sees quite a lot of off road hard working abuse at the ranch. After seeing your video, now I am leaning more towards just replacing the Optima with an Odyssey. I will look more into that option. I am sure there has to be a rough-use Odyssey out there.

    • @Now-Review-This

      These Odyssey batteries are heavy duty for off road and on road use. I think the Odyssey website has a video showing the manufacturing process and internal construction. They use a much heavier buss bar connection internally for connecting the plates to the terminals. This is the common mode of failure for most standard batteries when used for off road conditions. I'm fairly certain that all Odyssey batteries are considered heavy duty for both off and on road use. But I'd check their website just to be sure. Cheers 🍻

The weeder is kinda neat and it works okay on most weeds though, just not the ones with tap roots I guess. Funny how in their own advertisement for the tool, they show it pulling a baby dandelion. This is the perfect sub for someone that is somewhat conservative that lives in an apartment, or small to a small-medium sized room. If your not an audio purist, but like to listen to music, and have fun, this subwoofer will fill the bill just fine. Dayton Audio does make decent stuff for the budget minded.

    What happened to normal flooded batteries w/ 72mo warranties ? I am sure these AGM batteries are great, but their price are still double what I used to pay for a top of the line Interstate. I can't let my 2002 LS430 sit for more than two weeks without problems. If I disconnect the battery from the car, while it sits, the battery pretty much maintains its charge.

    • @Now-Review-This
      @Now-Review-This 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure I understand the question. But I've never had a 72 month warranty on any battery that I've owned. All the batteries I've used in the past 12 years now, they all died in 12 months or less, every single one of them! I think I went through 4 Deka batteries in a row before just giving up on the brand completely. After getting burned raw like that, now I'm real sensitive. Everything afterwards I simply returned for a refund. If it can't even make it a year, then it's completely useless to me and I now cut ties with the brand immediately. Is that what you were asking?

    • @carman200l
      @carman200l 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have these. Ive upgraded with Mark IV towers, so Im not using the B652 Air at the moment, but I think it's important to mention that they really improved alot after a couple weeks of being played at 80db+. The woofers really free'd up and the air motion tweeters seemed to smooth out a little. The difference wasn't massive, but they really shouldn't be judged right out of the box.

    • @Now-Review-This
      @Now-Review-This 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed, no speaker will be at it's peak right out of the box. They all need some break in time, but the overall sound will be the same regardless. Usually a woofer will hit a lower bass frequency a little more easily, or a tweeter can become a little less shrill, but the overall sound signature will pretty much remain the same.
